Ugh, I can't stand this commercial, it's when she has her repeat the word 'Privatize' 3 times in a row near the end, IMO all commercials that repeat the same thing are extremely annoying, sometimes this commercial would literally come on 2 or, even THREE tmes in a ad break. It's already to the point I'm nearly getting a headache over this.

IMPORTANT - Phoneix part of the art isn't mine. Found it ages ago on net and used for some concept art to my old projects. Now I can't find author again. So - disclaimer - this is CONCEPT ART ONLY - not actuall art piece - and i do NOT - take full credit for it. If I ever manage to find artist who made this - i will give him a shout out or even contact him/ her - if it was possible.

Don't know if I can keep up such speed with writing new chapters - but as people seemed to enjoy this little idea of mine - it will be continued :)

Ragnar shook his head at the unconscious form of the Shil'vati. For someone who screamed so loud, she fell unconscious after just one kick to the face. Disappointing. He looked up at the other Shil'vati. The rest of the survey ship's crew were around him, on their knees and shackled. So much ado about nothing.

Ragnar put the helmet on his head and focused his attention on the interface that appeared

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Within Agent Ramsey’s quarters aboard the apocalypse class battleship ‘Road to Harmony’ was an interactive holographic statue of an anime-esque girl in a typical ‘idol’ costume standing on a small mirrored stage.

Ramsey called her Clara.

On top of being cute and just generally fun to have around, Clara had the added benefit of keeping his quarters private from intrusion, since she made the aliens on board viscerally uncomfortable.

Ramsey bopped her affectionately on the head while closing the door behind him, a gesture that brought on a stream of adorably indignant chastisement, and threw himself into his computer chair.

A few minutes for routine security checks.

No bugs, electronic taps or digital software on his laptop that hadn’t been there before. Of course there wasn’t, even if espionage was the bread and butter of the galactic community, no one listened in on human comms.

No one.

He opened a secure channel.

Over the hiss of background static, a lone voice came by degrees into clarity.

“...ception of your reality, but what happens when those senses are fooled? By chemicals, or electronic hijack? How can you be so sure that what you see is…”

“Pink Panther reporting in, come in Central.”

He interrupted the never-ending stream of chatter to make his call.

“...does it really matter, what you’re doing? Does any of it matter if you aren’t ev- a colourblind genius sits in a black and white room.”

A more deliberate voice spoke over the soporific tones of the background noise.

“When they see a rainbow, do they learn anything new?”

Ramsey completed the other half of the cypher.

“Pink Panther…”

Said the voice, now overriding the whispers entirely.

“...we’re getting some disturbing reports. Care to fill us in?”

“Well… it wasn’t my fault.”

There was a static laden sigh.

“Pink Panther is this really the time?”

“You can’t see it right now, but I’m smiling.”

“Then cut it out. One of Earth’s top diplomats has been kidnapped by a bunch of underhive gang members and you apparently still have time to jerk us around.”

“Sorry Central… being around aliens all this time does things to you.”

Ramsey turned to Clara and winked, causing the holo to smother a fit of giggles.

She should be proud.

Her first official mission, as the leader of a small squadron dispatched to search for a pirate base, deep within the Empire's boundaries, amidst unexplored systems.

The Shil'vati sighed heavily and shook her head.

The research probes didn’t return from the region of stars they now traversed. Of course, as these probes tended to examine several systems one after the other until their memory banks were full, it was only known at first that a few probes didn’t return to base. Nothing fancy: crashes and collisions with meteorites happen all the time. Probes are also slower than most ships, but cheap to build and losing a few of them is not a problem for the Empire's treasury.

Why send valuable research ships with staff that would need some sort of escort if you can send a cheap AI-guided vessel? It will perform the same task at a slower pace but for a fra

Aleien He'xus watched Light's End with interest. It was not a standard military station. That was evident at first glance. The main, central part - the column - which was the backbone of the whole station and most likely the basis for the power supply and, of course, the command center. It was the rings surrounding the backbone of the station that intrigued her the most.

Light's End had two such rings, both connected to the central column. One was clearly slightly larger than the other. However, it was not their size that intrigued her. He'xus could not help but notice that the rings consisted of very distinct rectangular sections of the same dimensions, but each section clearly had a different function. One was a port section, another looked like a shipyard, yet another had large hangars into which vehicles dragging asteroids flew into and out of.

The port, the shipyard, the living quarters, the production area, the steel plant… everything was the same size.

Each of the clearly distinguishable sections was connected by semi-circular elements. Of Which the different angles for the smaller and larger rings were also very similar in design.

The Captain of the Goddess’ Kiss had no doubts - the entire station was built from modules on the same blueprint. Very economical in terms of cost, however, the station was certainly losing in strength and quality.
