A list of puns related to "Portable Executable"
Would be useful for, for example, having distinct mod setups for different SP worlds or servers; or a folder for actually playing the game and a folder for writing mods so that any of the bugs during that don't interfere with saves.
I am still new to QMK, but I was wondering if it would be possible to run a portable program (.exe) that is stored on the keyboard. Similar to running an executable stored on a flash drive, but stored on the keyboard and triggered with a keypress. Any ideas would be appreciated.
All the executable paths all lead to the correct place so I don't know what's going on?
Got a problem. We have a pretty simple application, currently written in C++, that needs to be installed on pretty much every windows platform that's existed since XP (inclusive.)
It's a command line app/windows service and while it needs some funky network tooling (sftp, ftps, etc.) it's not REALLY that complicated.
The most complicated part OF it is that it needs to run on a massive breadth of windows machines.
I keep seeing py2exe lauded as a great way of creating stand-alones. Anyone know how finicky the resulting executable is?
To quote directly:
> The unit of scale being an individual, portable executable has vast implications. It means CI/CD can push updates to any part of a distributed application, system dependencies are not an issue, and resource density is increased. Orchestration of scaling behavior is a matter of spinning up new executables, not new VM hosts.
You can find more information here: https://docs.docker.com/get-started/#conclusion
As the title says it has become a generic exe icon. A shortcut still assigns the Waterfox icon, but not the exe and sometimes the shortcut will not have the WF icon either. Only on my Windows 7 machine, not one Windows 10. Will try to post an image.
Also, if I copy the exe form Win 10 to Win 7, it changes the icon as well. Something odd. Got a fix?
Happy to announce asset-bundle a tiny build-time library which zips up an executable with its assets and those in its deps as well. Now you don't have to stand up a Docker container or fiddle with environment variables because some far away dependency bundles a config file, just {stack, cabal} build
, unzip and run!
It is extensively documented and has a fully worked example.
If you run into any issues let me know.
Enjoy!
I noticed that there's a VeraCrypt.exe and VeraCrypt-x64.exe. If I create a container using one, will the other be able to open it? Or is the executable going to have some effect on the container?
Do any of you know some good Windows executables which you can carry around on your portable storage so that when you run them on a target computer, it silently gathers data (saved passwords for Chrome, Firefox, etc...) and saves them on the same storage.
I am trying to build a portable USB toolkit of sorts. Something like the "Hiren's BootCD" of hacking.
I need a vulnerability scanner that I can copy to a dual homed Windows server desktop to scan the server locally. I do not have physical access and cannot install any applications. My only access is restricted to RDP on one network adapter. I am looking to understand my vulnerabilities from the other network adapters which is on the inside of the network. I have looked to use Virtualbox Portable but it requires a couple driver and a service install (it does uninstall it after use but the install breaks my footprint). I have looked into OpenVAS but I have not had any luck finding any good reference on it for use as a portable app.
