A list of puns related to "Pope Victor"
>"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."
In a declaration in December of 2021, Pope Francis has seen fit to award Victor Zoido the Golden Rose, an award given by the Papacy as recognition of valor and gallantry. The Pope reportedly felt moved to give such an award, after a report came in of Zoido undertaking a truly Christian move, of turning his personal property and his own church into hospitals and centers of relief. The Pope will also be taking a personal Columbia to visit the " Asociación para la Renovación Espiritual de Colombia a través del poder de Cristo" later this week in order to commend them also.
The Pope issued this decree on a Saturday saying:
>Acts of mercy like this must be recognized, for it is apathy, and the lack of will to help fight this awful pandemic, that not only bring us farther away from God, but farther away from mercy, and an end to the suffering and the eradication of sin. It is for this reason, that I recognize such a gallant act. We must award those who fight and give up parts of themselves in this great struggle.
This in my view is one of the most powerful pieces of history for people wanting to follow apostolic teachings.
>We observe the exact day; neither adding, nor taking away. For in Asia also great lights have fallen asleep, which shall rise again on the day of the Lord's coming, when he shall come with glory from heaven, and shall seek out all the saints. Among these are Philip, one of the twelve apostles, who fell asleep in Hierapolis; and his two aged virgin daughters, and another daughter, who lived in the Holy Spirit and now rests at Ephesus; and, moreover, John, who was both a witness and a teacher, who reclined upon the bosom of the Lord, and, being a priest, wore the sacerdotal plate. He fell asleep at Ephesus. And Polycarp in Smyrna, who was a bishop and martyr; and Thraseas, bishop and martyr from Eumenia, who fell asleep in Smyrna. Why need I mention the bishop and martyr Sagaris who fell asleep in Laodicea, or the blessed Papirius, or Melito, the Eunuch who lived altogether in the Holy Spirit, and who lies in Sardis, awaiting the episcopate from heaven, when he shall rise from the dead? All these observed the fourteenth day of the passover according to the Gospel, deviating in no respect, but following the rule of faith. And I also, Polycrates, the least of you all, do according to the tradition of my relatives, some of whom I have closely followed. For seven of my relatives were bishops; and I am the eighth. And my relatives always observed the day when the people put away the leaven. I, therefore, brethren, who have lived sixty-five years in the Lord, and have met with the brethren throughout the world, and have gone through every Holy Scripture, am not affrighted by terrifying words. For those greater than I have said ' We ought to obey God rather than man' ...I could mention the bishops who were present, whom I summoned at your desire; whose names, should I write them, would constitute a great multitude. And they, beholding my littleness, gave their consent to the letter, knowing that I did not bear my gray hairs in vain, but had always governed my life by the Lord Jesus.

Everyone recognizes that Polycrates was a true saint, that is not something that is debated.

>Failure: Turns out you aren't as inspiring as you thought you were.
Pope Victor IV stumbled out of his sedan onto a hill with a great view of the French host in the grassy fields below. He'd heard about Protestants rising up in Amsterdam- it was his duty to stoke the fire within the French troops so that they would visit sweet justice upon the heretics. "My beloved children!" cried Pope Victor IV, "children of god, all of you!" A few nearby Frenchmen turned to listen, but 99% of them did not hear the 90-year old's voice, so broken it was from yelling at heretics over the last few decades. "God bless thy purest hearts!" he wheezed. Unfortunately, the Pope did not know French, and spending most of his life speaking Latin with an incredibly thick accent did not help either. Pope Victor IV hacked up a few more blessings and waved a baguette around, then was escorted to his sedan after falling asleep on the grass.
The Pope enjoyed a nice vacation in southern France before returning home to execute caesar and excommunicate Ignus.
Pope Victor IV passed away peacefully in his sleep.
There have been rumors of a possible expansion, so let’s imagine it does happen, but the NBA decides to only add one new team to the league (sorry Vegas), bringing back the beloved Seattle Supersonics. The Sonics are back babbyyyyyyyy!
Now the Sonics need to build their team from ground up, starting with the expansion draft, and following it with signing players in the off-season.
Here are some simplified terms of the expansion draft:

It's that time of the year again: recruiting culminates in the early signing period, where the majority of the 2022 class will sign and/or commit. Rivals just updated their rankings as well, meaning all of the prospects will have brand new composite ratings.
As has been discussed prior, On3's creation of their own composite has complicated individual recruiting rankings to an extent. That being said, I've decided to provide everyone with multiple data points for comparison, as well as explanations:
247 Composite - takes the 4 recruiting services (247, Rivals, On3, ESPN), with 247 weighted higher, to create a composite and re-ranks
On3 Composite - takes the 4 recruiting services, all weighted equal, to create a composite and re-ranks
Raw Non-ESPN (NESPN): my own creation: average of just 247/Rivals/On3, without a re-rank
Composite^(2) - the 3 numbers above, averaged without a re-rank

... keep reading on reddit ➡I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
tl;dr: recently, I realised how amazing it is that Battletech can encompass such a wide variety of themes and tastes within its expansive universe, and it was none other than His Holiness, Pope Leo XXI that helped me with this.
I adore the fact that Battletech can truly be all things to all men.
For people like me, who loved 40K for its Grimdark setting, Battletech delivers in spades - the Succession Wars era is a bleak, dystopian shithole of pointless wars waged by men using ancient relics they cannot replace and barely understand. It is an era where wars are waged over spare parts, and where every battle ultimately serves only to slide all of Mankind further into darkness, for every 'Mech destroyed is another piece of the past consigned to oblivion, never to be replaced.
But from the 4th Succession War onwards, Battletech begins to move forward, and the Clan Invasion is a wondrous setting because it gives us one of the oldest, and most succulent of mismatched conflicts; the advanced elites versus the barbarian horde. I frakking love the Clan Invasion! I love playing as the Clans, outnumbered two to one and still curb-stomping the Inner Sphere regardless. I love playing as the Inner Sphere, zerg-rushing Clan 'Mechs and dragging them down through sheer weight of numbers or desperation gambits. I also have to say that I am utterly fascinated by the Clans, even though I always side with the Sphere when given the choice. I think this dysphoria is the hallmark of a great setting - Irarely experience this kind of factional divide in other universes, where I can easily and emphatically stamp my loyalty with one faction above all others.
Despite not really knowing a lot about it, I'm intrigued by the Jihad and the Dark Age. The idea of Clans and Spheroids intermixing is fascinating to me, and seeing the emergence of 'mixed tech' BattleMechs is something special in my mind. Most settings keep a hard division between factions; 40K's Imperium would never use Tau or Eldar tech, and vice versa; nor do the Rebellion in Star Wars use Empire tech for the most part. But Battletech breaks this rule, with every successive era closing the gap between Clan and Sphere technology, so much so that I honestly believe they will eventually be one and the same.
This brings me to ilClan. I am currently re-reading Hour of the Wolf, and I find myself longing for more novels in this era. I think a second reading helped me truly realise what it is about this era that intrigued me th

Let's take a historical situation :
You are Napoleon the Third, the italien unification wars are happening, and you are wondering if you should take side. Joining Victor Emmanuel will make for a future powerful ally, of course, but to help him you have to support a war against the Pope. Will there be an outrage (like it happened historically) in all your catholic Interest Groups if you decide to support him ? Will you be able to gain the support of your catholic IG if you support the Pope ? Do Interest Groups have any interest in what's happening in other countries ?
Other example, less historical : there is, for some reason, a heavy turkish diaspora in your country. Enough turks to form an Interest Group. And of course, trouble is happening with the Ottoman Empire. Will your turk diaspora (and their interest group) have an opinion on the side your should join ?
Do we have any info on this ?
Good morbning/ abternoon/ ebening everyone wherever you are!
