A list of puns related to "Pollination bags"
I have 8 regular autoflower seedlings going now (piΓ±a x OG kush). Unless there is an obvious dud male, I am not planning on culling and just letting everything cross in my grow room to produce a large batch of seeds with good diversity for later selection.
I know people use pollination bags to contain branches that are manually pollinated, leaving the rest of the plant sensimilla, but has anyone done the opposite (for instance covering top colas with bags to EXCLUDE pollen, but letting the rest of the room/plant be a pollen free-for-all?
if so, what kind of bags worked for you? Would non-woven nursery bags or sheer organza bags be fine enough of a weave to exclude most pollen? Thankya!
I have some poppies starting to flower that I don't want hybridizing with the neighbors. But pollination bags that don't look like they suck are expensive. Any thoughts or guides on making your own covers or where to get them cheaply?
I was just online shopping for small envelopes for seeds when I came across a listing for them. Out of curiosity I tried to figure out why they are used, but didn't have much luck. I understand that they limit pollination, but why?
So I started a grow and have 4 feminized plants growing. At the same time, a few friends randomly found some bag seeds and gave them to me. They all ended up germinating and now I have 4 bag/unknown and 4 feminized.
I plan on keeping the 4 feminized in a grow tent, but am I potentially risking it by keeping the potential males in the same room(outside the tent). Just trying to understand how risky it is to leave male/unknowns near female plants?
Can someone help me understand the ease/ability to transfer pollen in a situation like mine?
Thanks
I think this is my first post on Reddit .. Please bear with me if I am long winded..
I have a nice bag full of Hummingbird/Butterfly/Bee bulbs (echinacea, gladiolus, liatris, some lilies and lots of allium) and and a few gifted to me by friends (daffodils, hyacinths and tulips)... ..
Here's the thing, knees bad, legs bad but going to do my best to get these in the ground... Ground NOT prepared with nice mulched and mixed fortified and turned soil like I used to be able to do...
Is it okay to just make my holes in the field and put bulbs in as is? I know it sounds incredibly lazy but by myself, probably the best I can do... Our fields have gorgeous enriched soil as it is, so maybe it will be okay??
I'm asking folks if they've just done same and had success ... And if anyone has ANY 'easy' tips for this old fart to utilize to help the bulbs along..
I am in Zone 4b or 5b (depending on the year I guess it seems) and 49 or 55 on the 'hardiness index' (whatever that means).. Ontario..
Most of the bulbs I have say plant late September for spring growth... Is it too early to do them now then? Should I really try and hold out til mid September at least?
Thank you so much for the read and the advice !!
Long story short I found a seed in a gorilla glue bag from a medical dispensary. I also have a handful of bag seed from schwaggy days like 15 years ago. Keeping my fingers crossed that the gorilla glue seed pans out so I can clone it. If it happens to be male, would it be worth pollinating any bag seed females that may develop?
I checked pretty thoroughly throughout the sub and some other sources but couldnβt find a solid recommendation on how long to wait before spraying your plant with water after selective pollination.
I see everyone saying you pollinate the plant in another location, spray it down to neutralize any stray pollen, and then you can bring the plant back to the original location as a means of minimizing unwanted pollination. But as mentioned, I havenβt found clear details on how long to wait after the initial application before spraying the plant down.
I did see in one post that /u/RespectTheTree said that fertilization takes an hour or so. Are you therefore fine to spray down after an hour? I saw some people say they left their plants in their pollinated state for days.
Thanks in advance.
Iβve used sts on 1 sour crack and 1 blue microverse f5, both are currently beginning to form sacks as we speak. I think Iβve made my mind up that my recipient plant is going to be super orange hazeβ¦ my question is should I cull one of the reversed plants and let the other pollinate the entire soh? Or should I attempt to collect pollen and do a half/half pollination? The 2 parents just hit week 5 (week 2 of spraying) and the soh just hit week 1 (on the 2nd of Jan.)

Saw a post about a magical butter knife that spread common condiments with but a phrase and I thought... what other ideas do people have in a similar spectrum?
Basically, the items should have situational uses (such as building a sandwich), but should not make or break a campaign. They shouldn't have any official combat uses. I am sure people can find uses for anything in combat, I have ideas regarding that butter knife in regard to heist traps...
Looking for ideas to gauge free inheritance items for a Feywild campaign I will be running. So... the odder, the better. This will also be high fantasy, so interesting trinkets like these will also be extremely common.
Here are some ideas from me and a friend:
Welcome to Day 27 of my stadium review series, where I compile the weirdest, the funniest, and the downright strangest one-star reviews for MLB stadiums on Google. Today itβs Petco Park, and this should bee a great series of reviews. Itβs one of the best parks in the league, after all, and I canβt imagine any possible animal cruelty happening at a park named PETco.
#food
> The "ballpark" concessions here were downright disgusting.
> Under cooked garlic fries, cold/stale pretzel, and maybe the worst hot dog I've ever had. Stick to the Tri-Tip Nachos, Buona Forchetta, Hodads, etc..
> I was very upset to find out that they would not allow me to bring in a glass water bottle. They told me it was because glass was not allowed in the stadium. I told them that I am trying to reduce my waste. That involves using a reusable water glass bottle. I also pointed out that they sell glass beer bottles. They still did not let me in. If they are really going to refuse to allow a person in for bringing with them an object they sell, they need to rethink their security and understand the hypocrisy in the rule. They also need to take another look at how they are treating this Earth, because they clearly do not respect it.
#bees
> Killing a swarm of bees on live television!?! We need bees to pollinate our food. This could have been a real teaching moment having a bee keeper safely remove them. Is baseball so important that you canβt do the right thing?
> This park is bearing the name PETCO. This company actually has a code of ethics which includes the following: Animal Care As Petco Partners, it is our responsibility to promote the health, well-being and humane treatment of animals. We must do the right thing as a Company and as individuals to ensure animal well-being. We must consistently deliver safe, skillful and compassionate care to all animals entrusted to us...
> I guess not so much. I would suggest a boycott of this stadium as well as their namesake.
> Petco park chose to exterminate a honey bee swarm that was not a danger to anyone, instead of collecting them humanely and relocating them. There were even beekeepers at the event who offered to take care of the bees but they were turned away. All of this on national television. Poor choice, poor example. I own multiple pets, and will never set foot in another Petco again.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
