A list of puns related to "Pole Position II"
So, like many others, I was saddened to hear recently that the Pole Position lockdown does no longer work. When infinite loops are created now, a judge steps in and sends the problem card to the graveyard.
But wait! You see, Pole Position has two effects! When it is sent to the graveyard, it destroys the monster with the highest attack. So, of course, when the judge removes Pole Position, the monster with the highest attack is destroyed as well.
Of course, we can abuse this. I give an example boardstate of Player 1 controlling Spider Web (an irrelevant field spell for Piscu's effect), Earthbound Immortal Ascilla Piscu equipped with Gravity Axe-Grarl (+500 atk), The Wicked Eraser with one Axe of Despair (+1000 atk), and of course, Pole Position. Player 2 has a Gameciel, and is at 800 LP.
Now, say Player 2 places a card on the field without tributing Gameciel that has less than 3001 atk. This causes The Wicked Eraser to go into an infinite loop of gaining and losing 1000 atk. Player 1 calls a judge to resolve the situation, and the judge rightly determines the issue is with Pole Position. As Player 1 activated Pole Position last (during the draw step of Player 2's turn), the judge removes it from the field.
This blows up both Piscu and the Eraser, and we chain them so Piscu goes off first. Piscu destroys Gameciel, dealing 800 to the opponent for game.
To summarize. In this case, if Player 2 does almost anything, Player 1 needs to call a judge by the new tournament rules. The judge removes Pole Position, and then causes Player 1 to win almost immediately. KO by judge.
Any thoughts? Does this work the way I think?
This principle also works really nicely with Union Carrier, as Piscu triggers when sent from the Spell/Trap zone, and counts as a spell to encourage the loop when equipped.
EDITS: Someone helpfully pointed out in the comments that a judge could get rid of the Eraser.
In this case, getting rid of Eraser allows you to use Axe of Despair's effect to tribute the Earthbound Immortal. That still gets you the win.
I also noticed that Gameciel could just run over the Eraser, ruining everything. You can fix this by making the field spell Acidic Downpour (reducing EARTH atk by 500) and replacing Gameciel with Kumongous, so it has 1900 atk.
Also, getting rid of Axe lets you tribute Piscu immediately, getting rid of the Field Spell causes the loop to continue with the Kaiju and Eraser, (provided the card they played doesn't stop the loop as it resolv
... keep reading on reddit β‘I remember it vividly. The startup screen had formula 1 racing style cars driving in front of the screen. When you played the game you could see a gear box animation going as you went faster and faster. I had it in my collection in the 80s as well as Lode Runner and Spy Hunter and now I can't find it anywhere. Is this a Mandela effect or do I simply have the name of the game wrong?
