Playing with Fire (Blackpink song) Puns

i have been breathing these songs forever and want songs similar to it so suggest away !

This is the one BLACKPINK song I ALWAYS skip. I don't like it no matter how many times it pops up on Spotify playlists or on YouTube trying to get me to listen.

My theory of why I'm not a fan of this song is because it's not particularly a slow or fast song. It stays at mostly the same pace, until the build up right before the chorus. Then when it builds up, the chorus payoff is just.... there. I don't really like the sound of whatever synthstrument is playing during this part either. I find this to be their least exciting in the rap department, but Rose probably shines more in this song as a result.

I know among most casual fans, that PWF is their favorite so I thought this warranted an unpopop post.

So after hearing SO many times that blackpink's songs all sound the same, I really took a listen. You know what... I think people are actually right! Like each song has NO individuality AT ALL. It's totally not like each song has that one thing that separates it from another. How many times am I gonna hear "haha hehe hoho" in a blackpink song? Ugh here are my thoughts:

- I just realized that there is a whistle in the background of Really

- The piano at the beginning of Bet You Wanna is literally like the same composition of Playing with Fire's

- The fact that "Oppa!" is yelled in every chorus from the Kill This Love ep...

- Jisoo's "SHH!" in Whistle is the exact same audio that they used in Pretty Savage

- The autotuned farts of How You Like That were literally in Don't know what to do like um...

- Jisoo says "blackpink in your area" in every song like why can't the other members say it.

- Jennie's "Get it, flip it, scoop it, Do it like that, ah yeah ah yeah! Like it, love it, lick it Do it like la la la, oh yeah" is the same lyrics that Rose sang in See U Later

- If I hear doodoododoodododo in ONE MORE SONG-

And last, after my last ear check up my doctor found out something was wrong with my ear. he did some weird ass shit and now it's fixed apparently. I didn't believe him at first but when i got home I COULD ACTUALLY HERE THE ELEPHANT SOUNDS AT THE BEGINNING OF STAY! guys get your ears fixed if you can't hear it! These girls need to make some unique songs god-

I'm not sure how unpopular this actually is but i feel like the song gets a whole lot of hate especially on reddit.

I usually like BlackPink's music but I get bored of it really quickly (like in under a week).

To date ddu-du ddu-du is their only song that I still listen to fairly regularly.

Hey guys and girls, i think it would be fun to see what's the favorite BP song for people on this subreddit. For that i would love you to simply rank all BP songs from best to worst, it's only nine anyway atm.
If you do that there would be lists consisting of 9 tracks per post where first place would be worth 9 points, 2nd 8pts, etc.

The song might be different from the rest of their songs but Stay became my personal favorite after it was release along with Playing With Fire.

Also, I like Whistle more than Boombayah. I believe Boombayah is more popular than it's other title track (708M vs 421M), its lyrics really got me off.

YG are you listening? They are singers. They need to sing, that's why they need an album.

Ok, I'm gonna talk about only the songs with the MVs. Which are:

1. Boombayah- I'm going to be very honest. I don't like this one. See, it's not bad, but it's not something I can ever get back into. I used to like it a lot once, but those days are over, I guess.
2. Whistle- I love this song. Especially the parts to the end. It's actually a pretty good song, which I believe was criminally under-hyped in favour of Boombayah. Ok, I get it. Boombayah was their title track and their debut song, but Whistle imo was much better.
3. Playing With Fire- I strongly believe this is one of BP's best songs till date. I used to love it, and even now I like it a lot.
4. Stay- Easily the most underrated Blackpink song. Their B-sides from other albums are more well known than this song. I'm sure that a good percentage of Blinks didn't even know that this song exists, or maybe they did and just ignored it. It's such an amazing song, honestly.
5. As If It's Your Last- A whole bop. Probably their best song. I love this song. The pink concept really needs to come back. Please YG.
6. Ddu Du Ddu Du- I actually really really like this song. It's a good song, and it honestly brought a lot of new potential stans into the community. It's really catchy.
7. Solo- At first when I heard the song, I loved it. But then I heard Gashina, and I could only think about how YG did Jennie and Blinks dirty. First, the song was released during a very controversial time. Then, it's basically a recycled but slightly different version of Gashina. Jennie has a lot of potential, but YG just doesn't utilize it well.
8. Kill This Love- When I first listened to it, I liked it, but now? It's blatantly ignored by me. I still jam along with it when it comes on, but it so rarely does, because I usually try to avoid it. It's not a bad song, but it's probably one of their worst comebacks. YG didn't put any effort into it at all.

Thought it'd be worth sharing this here. Would have been a nice reception if this was performed at Blackpink's arrival in Malaysia!

Mine is Whistle and Boombayah (that made them popular), and the most popular song is definitely 4D and Playing with fire. This is not in terms of streams or views, but how often you hear the song in a public area, or how the song is like that song the general public knows blackpink for.

Mine would be AIIYL.

I love songs that filled with vocals because it really rely on their singing and rapping talents rather than the producer's ability on making catchy drops and stuffs. Heck even without that the chorus is really catchy. (this takes nothing away from Teddy and his team, he has contributed massively to bp's success and I have my utmost respect for him, and also he himself produced this song so what more can I say)

Also I first listened to this I was 16 and you know.. teens and their love songs. But most (not all, pls dont kill me) love songs are just plain sad or pure romance (which I cant relate feelsbadman), none of this summery vibes that cheer you up which makes the song feels refreshing for me. And other songs have those unappropriate sex and stuffs references that makes me both cringe and reluctant to sing it, which this song doesnt have.

And lastly, this is just a really well made summer song that made me happy and wants to move my head and shoulder everytime, even in public places like in class (even though I never do that in class because im a boy who likes sports and dancing to a cute song wont do good to my image xD).

Shoutout to D4 and FY, even though those songs contradict my first point but those are the first 2 song that I first heard from them and the two has a special place in my memory, so in other words I came for D4 and FY and stay+stan for AIIYL.
