A list of puns related to "Pebbles (series)"
The author's poems are self-defined as 'pebbles of life', and her poems are meant to strike a chord with a wide audience, with separate works dedicated to those going through various stages of life.
The poems are presented as pebbles, where life is like the sea, and pebbles are emotions that accumulate on the shore.
Divided into 11 parts, the book covers art, motivations, and thoughts, before moving onto pain, anxiety, love, and healing. The work dives into the importance of listening to your instincts, on the confusions of love, and the ubiquitous nature of pain, and the difficulties that accompany healing.
One of my favourite sections is the one on art, where the author addresses the importance, the necessity of art. Consisting of two poems, the author talks about how emotions can be conveyed through art, how art is a medium for pain and love, and how art can help heal such traumas.
I'm adding one of my more favored poems by the author here. The poem is titled 'A knot within', and is under the category of Pain:
'There was this inner child,
Who might have long ago died?
The voice inside is not clear,
For now, this seems to be surreal.
There is a need to express,
But something is left suppressed.
There sure is a knot within,
Something deep under my skin'.
- Swati Khatri
I liked this poem because it's difficult to articulate a painful experience, particularly because of how unique each person's experience is. I understand the need to vent and express one's feelings, but I also understand how painful that can be, and how mental anguish can translate into physical pain.
In between the poetry, the author has a few pages on pain and healing, and on participating and winning. The author intersperses her poetry with prose, and I liked this style. I liked the prose pieces in between, it allowed the author to be more detailed, and to further flesh out their ideas.
The poems are generalized to cover a range of emotions, making it accessible for most readers. It's a good pick-me-up, the poems are relatively simple, and the book can be seen as a fun browse.
The book can be found here.
Thank you for reading!
Hey Pebble Redditors,
I have just finished watching the Netflix series How to Sell Drugs Online (fast). It's a German production and quiet popular around the world. In a few scenes they mention a Pebble smartwatch and they also show the Pebble for multiple seconds in a few scenes - branding etc. is clearly visible. They also mention specific Pebble product names.
At the beginning of each episode it says that the show contains product placements, which might be normal nowadays (Red Bull can here, Corona beer there...). For me, it is quiet obvious that someone paid for the Pebble placement. They have absolutely no reason to integrate Pebble for free, as it doesn't exist anymore.
Although Fitbit bought Pebble a few years ago after going bankrupt, this is kinda strange. Are they planning to re-launch a Pebble watch? This would be actually a huge marketing move. Pebble gets mentioned many times and it kind of stays in the consumers head. This would be a real success and don't forget: There is still no 1:1 replacement for our good old Pebble watches which means there is demand for watches like that.
Conspiracy theory? Might be.
Sounds too good to be true? Yeah, definitely.
What do you think?
It's a series I started reading 5 or 6 years ago at my school library so I don't think it was a very new series and is aimed at teens. The protagonist was a teenage boy and he was apprenticed to a woman, I think her name began with an m. Plot-wise, all I remember is that one of the objects allowed the user to fly (although not properly and it was difficult to control), which the villain had, and the protagonist had an object to make you hover and the protagonist realised that if you put the objects together it allowed you to fly properly.
That's all I remember.
I read this book five years ago in my English class and it was the second book of a series. Whether there was more, I honestly donβt remember. It wasnβt very long, quite thin and stuff.
Anyway, this girl is in the present and she can go back in time using this pebble on this massive boulder somewhere on her land (maybe they were farmers or something?)
When the MC touches this pebble, she gets teleported back in time.
I donβt really remember the plot but I remember that in the past there was a younger brother who had been really annoying to the two girls (the MC and the main girl from the past) but, in this second book, heβs a little more reserved.
I think the brother steals the pebble in the past so the MC canβt travel back in time anymore.
Stuff happens and eventually, the MC and the girl from the past create a new βportalβ. I think they put a shoe or something under the house? It acts exactly like the pebble but itβs just closer to get to.
Thanks in advance!
When I visited Russia a couple of years ago, I noticed in a few restaurants that the bread we were served would have a slightly sweet "Fruity Pebbles" type of flavor. (My husband agreed on this description of it, and we often talk about the Fruity Pebbles bread that we had.) It was great and definitely unique from anything I've had in the US. I love cooking and I'm trying to improve my baking skills. Does anyone know what could impart a "Fruity Pebbles" flavor to bread?
It was a brown bread, and we had it in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Edit: Wanted to mention that I will update what comes closest to the bread we had. I've got a few recipes to try and I'm also exploring Euro-markets in my area that might sell Russian bread. Thank you to everyone!
IF has been one of the most forgiving strategies I've ever done. It really is a lifestyle change. My body has adapted to 18 hours of fasting and uses what I eat well. The weight is coming off steadily. My energy is better. I can see a difference. This one night where I give in to stress and indulge doesn't mean I've failed.
If you're feeling that you're failing right now, lemme tell you: breaking your fast isn't a failure. Your body will use it, you will be fine. This isn't the end, you didn't lose the challenge. This is a lifestyle adjustment, and those take time. I'm 5 months in to my IF journey and I don't feel like I'm barely hanging on. I feel like I got this.
I want you to know that you do, too.
To be a little boulder
....unless you count Steven obviously
