I’m finally realizing many general conference talks contain fearful messages such as painting a fearful world view. The GAs describe the world as wicked and lost. They describe how peace can only be found in a Mormon home, temple, or church. “Stand in holy places”
A tactic I learned in a marketing class was to use fear to sell a product. An acronym PAS helps accomplish this: Problem (bring up a problem people face), Agitate (paint a picture of how the problem is even more painful than once believed), and Solve (offer a solution to the painful problem).

I was surprised at how moving and, I believe. efficacious it was. At home I stood, sat and knelt. I affirmed my faith aloud with words of the Nicene Creed with the others participating on Facebook live. I spoke the responses. I love worship with the BCP and being at with a video screen in front of me made it even more clear how we are not a passive audience but active participants in the liturgy.
The priest's sermon began with an explanation that the church had long ago taught that the value of the Eucharist to the communicant was not lessened when due to disease or distance taking the consecrated host and wine was not possible as long as the person desired it in their heart. The celebrant called it The Spiritual Communion of Desire.
