A list of puns related to "Paul Newton (musician)"
Any genre of music
My personal pick is Rage against the machine 4 studio albums all packed with jams
He finds his composer.
He has to play by ear
The title pretty much sums it all. I would like you to share an underrated rock musicians in the previous century or early 2000s, before 2010.
If I had to ask my own question, it would be Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters and Sun Kil Moon fame, it angers me that such an incredible singer-songwriter can be that awful of a person.
The cast, made up of high-profile action stars, were choosing their roles.
Sylvester Stallone went "I want to be Mozart!". Bruce Willis said "Then I'll be Beethoven!" and Jean -Claude Van Damme, "I'll go with Tchaikovsky".
After a moment of silence, Arnold Schwarzenegger stood up, looked at everyone in the room, and said "I'll be Bach".
I think the only sure bet is the Beatles because of how influential they were, with Elvis and Michael Jackson being two good contenders. Maybe John Williams. Maybe Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, and Nirvana.
EDIT: I see a lot of posts about artists that started their careers in the 2000s and 2010s. I feel compelled to point out that the 20th century ended December 31st, 2000.
EDIT 2: It looks like Kanye West is being mentioned the most. To the naysayers I suggest listening to this gem and reconsider your argument.
EDIT 3: After reading through as many of the comments as I can, it seems to me that the most correct answers are Frank Zappa and Igor Stravinsky. No bias here, I hadn't heard of either of them before this thread.
Iβm an epee fencer and need to replace my old grytonite glove. What is the difference the advanced gryptonite glove and the old gryptonite glove (mine about two years old)? Also what is the difference between the advanced grytonite glove vs exoskin 800 newton?
Okay so I just read the bummer thread about musicians who are terrible people.
Does anyone have stories about musicians theyβre pretty sure are good folks?
The guitarist from Mannfred Mannβs Earth Band (most famous song was βBlinded By the Lightβ) was literally my therapist when I was in high school. Very sweet guy, helped me with my anxiety.
Because he played with a cord
A few months ago I ordered a new Yamaha guitar from Musicians Friend. Even though working with a rep that guaranteed me I would be sent a new item from a warehouse I was shipped a guitar from Musicians Friend covered in scratches and dirt and need of repair. A quick google showed me that in my 20 years away from instrument purchasing some things had changed. I eventually got the guitar back to Musicians Friend at my own hassle the biggest part being that the box they shipped to me was completely destroyed either in transit or reused.
Because my purchase was fairly large I had enough credit to buy another instrument which I used to purchase a Ukulele, one of the most expensive that they sell. Of course my Uke came and.. its from a Guitar Center not any Guitar Center either, the one geographically furthest away from me in the United States. Of course it came not in original packaging, in a box 10 times the size of the travel case, not strapped in its case so just.. bouncing around. Is it crazy to want a new from manufacturer instrument? I give up the opportunity to test the instrument in person for what I expect to be a new item free of shit like scratches from shirt buttons and belt buckles. I also want the item shipped to me with the protections and experience of the manufacturer not some jank ebay pack job.
I to an extent understand the instrument business and that retailing "new" instruments is nearly impossible at scale. At the same time if you sell me something new and swap it from a retail establishment where no reasonable person would consider an item to be still in a pristine new state I consider that fraudulent. This whole scheme relies on their own customers being too aloof or apathetic to notice or resolve the issue. There is zero resistance to a lengthy and probably stupidly expensive exchange process of shipping instruments back and forth across the country just to fulfil the inital obligation when you call them out on the bait and switch which means for whatever reason this is a profitable business practice.
If I walk in to a car dealership and want to drive out in a car that day I don't expect the car to have 0 miles on it but at some point that car is used even if its only been test driven. If I order a car at a dealership and wait for it to arrive I don't expect it to be driven across the country by 80 different people before delivery. Maybe its picky or whatever but fuck you Musicians Friend. You didn't have to take my money in
