A list of puns related to "Paul Kruger"
What a load
How about don't scratch players that were 40 goal scorers or exile them to 4th line eternity. Especially not when Okposo is still somehow suiting up.
Maybe when you're the worst 5v5 team in the league, and you have a generational talent on your team, the coach might need some of the blame.
Maybe changing the lines every 3 minutes and banishing skinner while the entire team struggles is the coaches fault.
Not that you guys needed to be told this, but Hamilton is a hack.
So this post is gonna be a little weird, but hear me out. I just found a sick deal on a pendant with a 1/10th oz krugerrand in it for my rope chain at a great price and bought it. i love krugs since i feel like they are one of the most reputable/famous/reliable/liquid coins, and they are generall a little less expensive than other premium coins like buffalos, AGEs, philharmonics, etc.
Anyway as I'm waiting for it to come in the mail, I ask myself, "who is this dude on this coin that I'm gonna be wearing on my neck?" and easily find out that it is Paul Kruger. I do a little digging and find out that the man has quite the controversy surrounding him. Some view him as a hero from when South Africa was fighting off British imperialism. Some view him as a racist asshole who upheld and contributed to apartheid, and see that there are forces to remove and vandalize his statues.
What to think? Am I overanalyzing this? Would you wear a Krug on your neck? As an American, I cant say I know much about South African history, but I'm just trying to compare with American history. Like obviously tons of our history's heroes were racist, and not that that's a good thing, but (this is gonna sound bad) it's a little bit of a reach to like demonize someone for being racist 100-300 years ago, assuming they werent making that the focus of their life, if that makes sense?
Obviously its not ok, but we have to take into account the context. I'm sure George Washington was "racist", but not the same way say Andrew Johnson was. Idk if Paul Kruger was just like a product of his times or if he was actually a racist piece of shit? Anybody know?
obviously i'd be wearing it because i like gold and am not some kinda Paul Kruger fanboy, but def dont wanna be ignorant either
Did the United Kingdom threaten any action towards the Netherlands for helping the President of a hostile Boer republic?
