A list of puns related to "Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas"
Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, who has been in the headlines of late for his comments on actress Kangana Ranaut and the usage of drugs in Bollywood, has now voiced his opinion on nepotism in Bollywood.
During one of his recent interviews, Bhatt praised Kangana’s acting prowess and when asked about working with her in the future, he said that if at all it happens then he will end up being the clapper boy because Kangana writes the story and also directs the films herself. He also claimed that though drug use is found across the country, only the Hind film industry is being targeted.
Now, during an exclusive interaction with NBT.com, Bhatt spoke at length about nepotism in Bollywood. “If a father could have made his son a star, then Sunny Deol's son Karan Deol's first film Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas wouldn’t have been a flop. What did Sunny Deol do when the film did not do well?” he asked, adding that the film industry has always been an easy target and that it becomes easy for people to raise any kinds of issues through the film industry.
“If there is a border conflict or fight with Pakistan then our artistes are stopped because it raises the loudest voices. When it comes to smoking cigarettes, you do not close the paan bidi shops but cut smoking scenes from films. If animal rights activists have some issues then they first try to impose restrictions in films. Nobody cares about how horses are treated in Matheran or what the condition of animals in villages is,” he added.
Bhatt further says that a person works hard his entire life so that he can make things easier for his children. Questioning the double standards on how the nepotism prism is selectively added only to the film industry, he said, "A politician’s son can be a politician, a businessman’s son can also follow in his father’s footsteps, a cricketer's son can become a cricketer but an actor's son can't be an actor!. I don’t want my children to face the hardships and the struggles that I have seen. That’s the reason I work hard."
He also said that the audience makes a person a star – be it an actor or director.
“If the audience had not appreciated the performances of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, they would have never become stars. The audience is responsible for making them stars and not their fathers. There were several actors - directors who got an opportunity from their families but the audience didn’t like their work and rejected them. I believe that nepotism is a nonsense di

Legacies have destroyed the future of their young ones and seem like the same was about to happen with Karan Deol. But, like every other daunting and proud father, Sunny Deol tried to save his son’s career.
Being suppressed under legacy is one of the unsettling pressures children have to face and it needs no explanation how difficult it can be to overcome the confidence one needs
Karan Deol’s latest release - Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas sparked conflicts between Sunny and the critics.
The film was directed by Sunny and this debutant director-actor Jodi, saw huge decline in the box-office number. Considering the film locking horns with the likes of The Zoya Factor and Prassthanam, the film fared well and collected Rs 5 crore (approximately) at the box office
However, sunny has been disappointed by the strong and bold criticism the young Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba received from the critics.
A source close to the family said "Sunny, like any proud and protective father, did his best for his son's launch. If Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas didn't turn out to be what critics expected there was no need for personal comments in the reviews which have nothing to do with the film's merits or demerits
From calling Karan 'wooden' to not living up to the mark of his father, film critics didn't show any mercy while criticizing the young lad's performance
