Que tal a contratação do Meia Escocês Ryan Gauld, de 25 anos, que atuou no Farense (Portugal). Ele fala português fluentemente, pode jogar em três posições (Armador, segundo volante e ponta, posições carentes no Flamengo), tem bom passe, bom chute, veloz e boa visão de jogo. Ele vai ficar livre em Julho, portanto poderá vir de "graça", e como atuou num clube pequeno de Portugal, não deve ter um salário alto. Em 33 partidas, fez 9 gols e fez 7 assistências.

The 26 year old Spaniard (yes, he is playing in Brasil, but he is from Spain!) was bought by Manchester City I'm 2016 and then immediately loaned to several different clubs (two in Spain and one in the Netherlands), all of them also part of the City group. In the 2018-2019 season he played for Deportivo Lá Coruña, from the Spanish second division, and almost managed to reach La Liga (they lost in the playoffs, with Marí almost scoring a winning header in the last seconds of the game). After that Flamengo bought him from Manchester City for approximately a million Euros, after advice from their new coach Jorge Jesus, who wanted a left footed CB. There he quickly got in Flamengo's starting eleven and never left, winning the Libertadores (only the third European player to do it, and the first since 1972) and got elected, together with other Flamengo CB Rodrigo Caio, as the brazilian league best backs.

He is very tall, and great in the air game, not only defending, but also scoring header in set pieces and crosses (he scored once in our 5-0 semi-final victory on the Libertadores). He also has great positioning, working well with a defensive high line, and has good anticipation. Also, he is good at passing, especially longer passes, not unlike David Luiz. On the downside, the game in England is played at a much more intense and faster pace, so it remains to be seen wherever he will be able to match the game, especially the fastness.
Other notes:
He might know be a know name, but he took a big risk coming to Brasil, and in the six months here not only he won two major titles but he also earned his position as a starter and won personal accolades. He took big risks and showed up big time here, with a determined and winning mentality, which is a big plus.
