Ordnance QF 20-pounder penetration values?
I've been trying to get some numbers on this gun, but it's proved to be difficult. So far I've found 3 sources of information:
- A British document from 1954 called "Tank effectiveness: Conqueror, Conway and Charioteer", which seems decently trustworthy, despite being quite old.
- The 20pdr table on this page, which while cites some sources doesn't mention which in particular contains the data for what and at what pages... so I'd take it with a grain of salt.
- Simon Dunstan's 2003 "Centurion Universal Tank 1943-2003", page 10, but that only says that the 20-pounder's APDS round had twice the penetration capability of an 8.8 cm AP round... which is very unspecific.
Is anyone aware of any other sources or claims or any kind of info about the performance of the 20pdr?
P.S. Interestingly enough, the '54 document lists 330mm pen at 1000 yards at 0 degrees, and a mere 87mm at 60 degrees, which is very odd. AFAIK, 60 degrees leads to double LOS armour, and up to triple efficiency against AP, but the decrease in pen showed in the table is 3.8 times. And that's APDS, which is supposed to be less affected by slopes than normal AP.

The Ordnance QF 32-pounder...and how it flew
I decided to do some digging on this gun, as I was wondering as to why we only have it on a single tank. Well that's because it was only using on a single tank...
And an up-gunned Mosquito.
Several sources all mention a "single example using a novel form of muzzle brake was installed in a de Haviland Mosquito as an up-gunned 'Tsetse' Mosquito FB MkXVIII". And how "flight trials did not take place until after the war the aircraft flew and the gun fired without problems".
Now, information on this Mosquito is scarce. This link is the best bit of info that talks about said Mosquito. With it being such a ghost on the internet, I'm open to whatever else anyone can dig up. I'd love to learn as much as I can, as I'd like to make a suggestion to have it added to Warthunder. Wikipedia only mentions said Mosquito, and any other sources say just about the same thing.
