17 days after the typhoon hit us, ngayon lng kami nagkaelectricity. Marami pa rin lugar yung wlang electricity. One lesson we learn is to have a portion of your EF in cash. Dec 17, morning after the typhoon landed in Cebu, we were trapped in our municipality since all entrance and exit points were not passable dahil sa mga poste na natumba. ATMs were not working. It took at least 3-5days to have at least 1 ATM to function for an entire city. I know a lot of people na walang wala tlga, pero i also know a lot of people who said na merong pera sa bank, na dumating na 13th month pay nila on the 15th (16th dumating si Odette) pero wlang wala pa rin sila dahil di makapagwithdraw. My workmate was able to withdraw after 8hrs of lining in an ATM. I was lucky because i was able to withdraw after 5hrs on a different ATM. Also, supermarkets only accepts cash, it took 7-10days to have at least 1 supermarket to accept debit/credit cards. It took more than 10days to accept remittances. Sobrang taas pa ng linya nyan ha. Buti nlng tlga nkapagbigay ako ng pera sa Mom ko nung 15th, the same with my sister. The only money I have in my wallet that time was 1k. Sobrang mahal na ng mga bilihin. Water refilling stations charged Php50 per gallon which was Php10 before typhoon. Tumaas mga gas at diesel at most Php160/liter. Nakakatakot, pero kinakaya. Better days are already coming. Unti-unti na bumabalik signal. Nakakapagdata na sa ibang lugar. May electricity na sa iba. Few lines nlng sa gas stations and water refilling stations. Sana tuloy-tuloy na ito.

Hi I am a lurker here for more than a year already.

I would like to thank this thread for encouraging me to develop my EF.

I was able to save 9 months worth of EF before we got hit with the super typhoon odette.

I am putting the EF into good use by securing my family in a hotel until all of the utilities are up again, and also setting aside some amount to help our neighbors.

Have I not changed my spending habits it would have been much worse for me and my family.

Hindi totoo ang mga nangyayari ngayon sa Visayas at Mindanao. Wala ako naramdaman at hindi ako naapektuhan tulad ng nangyari sa Martial Law noong dekada 70.

Puro kasinungalingan lang yan sa media. Maganda at mahusay ang mga namumuno. Hindi tayo pinapabayaan. Walang korupsiyon dito.

ok, yung ibang dito sinasabihan na ang post na ito ay napaka-insensitive at hindi dapat ipost dahil naghihirap ang mga kababayan nating naapektuhan sa bagyong Odette na ito. At politics daw.

Oo, napaka-insensitive ng post pero minsan kailangan mo nga sampalan ang mga insensitive na tao sa mukha para magising sa katotohanan.

Ang kabuuan ng post na ito hindi tungkol sa pulitika. (Hindi maalis ang pulitika sa araw araw na buhay ngunit ibang usapan na yan. Parte lang po yung pulitika kung sa tingin ninyo may natatamaan nga talaga.)

Tungkol po ito sa mga biktima ng Martial Law, namatay, naabuso at dinakip na hindi na nakabalik sa pamilya, kung saan tinatanggi ng mga ibang tao na wala nangyari ganito sa panahon ng Martial Law dahil hindi naranasan ng angkan nila ang pang aabuso noong mga panahon na ito.

I was one of the unlucky ones who were struck by the wrath of Typhoon Odette. Unfortunately, athena shield and radiant armour did not defend us (lol).

I missed the rest of M3. The last game I watched was NAVI vs Todak. The electricity shut after the game, and Typhoon Odette made landfall that night. I think the peak views for Onic PH vs RRQ and Blacklist vs RRQ would have went up to 4-5m if the typhoon didnt come lol.

I havent played since December 16 as well. I dont even know what are the new updates since signal and Internet are intermittent and non-existent, and our electricity came back just yesterday.

Lastly though, I'm just glad we're all okay, and I hope others who were struck by the typhoon are okay as well.

So I recently finished rewatching IYITL and re-listening to the Gilmore Guys episodes on them. And I gotta say: This assumption that Odette is just some weak, ignorant victim really grinds my gears (mainly because I keep yelling at my podcast machine but no one ever replies). That she's just sitting at home, knitting bonnets for their future children, as she patiently awaits the wedding day.

Logan is a .001%er (presumably), following the Huntzberger Dynastic Plan of keeping the wealth growing and the bloodline pure. Odette is a princess whose background I'd have to assume is more similar to his than not. I would think that it's likely that she, too, is simply following her family's Dynastic Plan. And, if so, that she is approaching the impending union with a similar mindset and flair. I'd like to think that she's just doing her own thing in France with the knowledge that Logan is in London doing his.

What really annoyed me in the Gilmore Guys conversation was that the evidence that Odette was the pure and faithful fiancée is that Rory was to be relegated to a hotel once Odette moved in. It seemed to me that the Guys were equating an open relationship to a polygamous one. Even if Logan and Odette did have some sort of understanding, it wouldn't be irrational for her expect a certain level of discretion. It would be one thing to have Rory on the side, but another for Logan to rub her face in it .

Maybe it's an open relationship deal, or maybe it isn't. Maybe she was out there getting hers, too, or maybe she wasn't. But I find the idea that she would have been an unwitting and passive agent in all of this a tad sexist. Not the overtly piggish kind, but the more subconscious kind that is more difficult to identify and keep ourselves from acting on.
