The Dark Brethren. Davy Jones needs the Siren Queen for her Sunken Fortess, because Jones cannot step on land. In return Jones summons the Kraken for the Sirens. Duke is promised revenge for his exile after hearing the Sirens song. The Gold Hoarder, after hiding his key to the Shrine of Ancient Tears, is bought with Aztec Gold. So what's in it for Wanda?
An Hourglass. The 1st Tall Tale book in Pirate's Life shows a reaper holding what looks like the Ferryman's Lantern. In the 4th Tall Tale the reaper can be found on The Flying Dutchman, only the lantern is missing. The Masked Renegade Figurehead, and the rest of the set, heavly feature a red hourglass. The "sands" actually flow up, instead of down as the Ferryman's does. If the Ferryman's lantern shows the past (How they died), what if Jones's lantern shows the future (How will they die)?
With the exception of the abysmal A Good Day to Die Hard, no film in the franchise didn't find its basis in some form of source material. Die Hard 2: Die Harder was based upon a novel by Walter Wager. Die Hard With a Vengeance was a spec-script originally titled "Simon Says" - reworked first for a Lethal Weapon sequel before being reworked once again to pair Bruce Willis' John MacClane with an African American buddy partner. And Live Free or Die Hard was inspired by an article from Wired theorizing the possibility of the film's "fire sale" premise.
This trend in the franchise began with the first film, from a 1979 novel written by Roderick Thorp entitled Nothing Lasts Forever. In the book, Bruce Willis' surrogate Joe Leland is the aging, world-weary cop making the trip from New York to Los Angeles before terrorists lay siege to the building on Christmas Eve. This was Leland's second outing in both mediums, as Frank Sinatra had starred in the first book's adaptation, both entitled The Detective. While it may be hard to imagine an 80s era Sinatra duking it out with 12 German terrorists and taking death-defying leaps into air ducts, this scenario nearly played out. Not that Sinatra was in the running to be cast as the iconic MacClane, but the novel plays out nearly note-for-note as the film, action set-pieces and glass-shredded feet included. What the film wisely deletes from the transition from page to screen is a whole lot of racism, sexism and plenty of woman-killing. Those are the major plot changes, but what turned Die Hard into late-80s action fodder β and transformed the genre for years to come β were the little things.
As Nothing Lasts Forever opens, Leland is catching a plane from Baltimore, during which his black driver posits about the nature of murder before getting into a scuffle with another driver. Leland, no longer a real cop but still allowed to carry a weapon aboard a plane using an anniversary badge, pulls a piece on the other driver before fleeing to the terminal and getting aboard.
From there, the novel follows the film, almost line-by-line, minus the "fists with your toes" bit (though there is something that echoes it). He has a black limo driver, the second and last featured in the novel; both of which share similar professions, seem aging, overweight and tired.
After warning guards about a strange truck outside the building, he goes to meet his daughter (not wife) at the Klaxxon (not Nakatomi) Building for the party

with some exceptions you should only emigrate to a country speaking your first language, the burden of another language is destructive to the brain and life
the exceptions are interesting, i have in mind the russian writers and poets who should have left russia during the stalinist years, but didnβt because their craft was in the russian language and unfortunately paid a horrible price for that love
buddha never could have existed as an historical person because the person and life as described is impossible to have occurred in real life, same holds for muhammad, jesus and moses, supermen belong to the planet krypton
you seem only to have learnt deceit by concealment, a very zen "skill" in my judgement

Coincidental meetings. Quiet nights shared between two children. Shared pasts and the closest of bonds.
To know one another since you were children, to grow up next to each other. Itβs a special thing that few would understand. For better or worse, you knew every side of him and he knew every side of you. For the longest time, you thought that would always be the case. But lifeβs more complicated than that.
Youβve long since left your home, or whatβs left of it behind. When you parted, by your choice or otherwise, you didnβt know if you would ever see each other again. But somethingβfate, coincidence, or something far more mundaneβhas brought you together again.
You see him and realise: heβs changed, and so have you.
Hey there! You can call me Ice and as you can see, Iβm looking to write a story about characters with shared history: childhood friends, childhood enemies, estranged best friends and everything in between. Whether we write about a pair that got off on the wrong foot and have been bickering back and forth ever since, or once-best friends separated by circumstance now yearning for a friend who doesnβt quite exist anymore, Iβd love to explore these relationships and all the hurt and anguish that comes with.
Iβm a full time university student and I live in the EST region. I write primarily on Discord and in the range of multiple paragraphs a reply, but I like to match my partners. Below are a few settings and setups I thought of, the details of which arenβt as important as their overall tone, so you can feel free to mish-mash the ideas together however you like.
Otherworldly
Space, it turns out, is a vast place. Humanity has spread among the stars, even going so far as to colonize the harshest of worlds. As a scientist, engineer or officer of the Primacy, you stand at the edge of this frontier and endure the dangers of one such world. But between the sulfurous storms that would burn away your skin as it suffocates you, the plantlife the onboard AI keeps saying telling you isnβt trying to kill you, and your superiorβs ever-increasing demands, youβre not quite sure which is worse.
This setting is all about far-out places, climes and dangers that are impossible on Earth. Our characters could be in deep space, whether thatβs on a massive battlecruiser or a somewhat cramped exploration vessel, planets in constant sulfurous storm, or tempestuous ocean planets with liquid methane rather than water. We could explore the consequen

I'm starting to get a little concerned. When I mouseover the soil, it just says regular soil, but it seems like it's saturated with toxins. Will shrubs and trees eventually grow back in?
Staring down the road from a broken window, No matter how many tears you shred, none can change the fact that you're a "widow".
There was peace in your spouse's smile, Joy in his warm hugs, I know how you loved the way he lied and his shoulders "shrugged".
No one can feel your pain, everyone shows sympathy, Meanwhile, all you want is some space and empathy. Some way to tell him how much he meant to you using "telepathy".
Alas, there will always be things on which you'll have no control over, You are bounded by a beautiful grace and blessed with two prodigies, Don't turn your bad memories into some type of "apologies". Your life can still resume as it isn't a "game-over"
Will you be my nothing?
