A list of puns related to "Notable American Women, 1607β1950"
With the classic dream being that of having a family, a job, and financial security; this appears to be how a man should've strived to be at the time. In contrast with the general views of women at the time what was expected of them. Looking after the kids and being a housewife? Or were a large population of women striving for these initial goals - as many worked all over the sector during the war years.
I haven't found any advertisements at the time that encouraged women to keep on working as opposed to being a housewife thus it's piqued my interest.
Thanks to anyone who can provide any input!
Lately I've been trying to find out more about Black women's hairstyles in the US in the late 1940s and early 1950s. I'm particularly interested in ordinary, everyday hairstyles or even evening out ones, but not the only-celebrities-wear-it ones. Which ones were popular in which years, etc. Also in what social/economic class, if it varies. My undestanding modern weave wasn't invented until the 1950s and the hot comb was common.
I just really wanted to know if there were particular styles that defined that era.
Also, were there any fashions (clothing, jewelry, makeup) more common to black women, similar to the Zoot suit in a certain era?
Itβs common to point out how non-American directors have influenced many American directors. Jean Luc Godard influence on Tarantino, Satyajit Ray on Wes Anderson, and Wim Wenders on Jim Jarmusch.
What are some examples of non-American filmmakers saying theyβve been influenced by American films? How did pioneers like Sam Raimi and Martin Scorsese impact the styles of filmmakers outside the US?
What are the best foreign horror films you have seen? I have looked up countless top horror film lists as has been once documented on this subreddit. Iβve seen the likes of Train to Busan, #Alive, I saw the devil, kuntilack, terrified, ladaland, ringu, etc. all the mainstream ones, I want all the hidden gems of foreign horror,
I always get depressed when looking at old photos of even small - mid-sized cities like Worcester or Des Moines and seeing how busy they seemed even at night. I'm guessing the pedestrian activity of a lot of places has increased since the 1990s. But still, considering demographic and work trends, combined with the fact that it is easier than ever to stay inside your entire life, I doubt the USA will ever return to a semblance of the vibrancy we once saw.
I hope I am wrong...

>In an interview with the New York Times, John Huston stated, "Well, I wasn't always an American. My Americanism, I think, was formed early in my life. My mother had a very poor background and a very poor childhood and I was raised by a very poor family in a very poor neighborhood, in a very poor environment. My mother was born in New Jersey but she was so poor that she had to go to New York City so she could have a better life. I believe that my Americanism was born earlier than my Americanism as an adult. I think that my Americanism was formed before I had even left New York City."

In many subs or places, I see defeatist comments or some posts from AM saying 'the only women who are into us are AF, and even then a lot of them don't want anything to do with us'. One of the reasons they cite is that 'no popular or well-known girl or woman would ever even think of being with an AM, famous or otherwise'.
I'm going to share a little list of notable women, non-Asian women, who have or have had an AM partner.
For a lot of people the first AMXF couple that comes to mind is Maggie and Glenn which is a fictional couple lol. Some people also know about Megan Fox who had a crush on Korean singer Rain. We also know about Tyra Banks' kind words and support, shutting down that self-hating AF (I think you remember that incident). But those seem to be the few cases that people are kinda widely familiar with. Allow me to tell you about some others you might not have known about:
-Y'all know Mariah Carey, right? One of the best singers. She went out with Bryan Tanaka.
-You know Alessandra Ambrosio? This Brazilian woman is one of the biggest supermodels of all time, often cited by the popular media as one of the world's sexiest women. Her boyfriend is a man named Richard Lee. They're one sexy couple.
-You know Charli XCX. Popular English singer, part Gujarati descent. Her boyfriend, Huck Kwong, shot some of the pictures for her hit album How I'm Feeling Now.
-It was hilarious how salty racists got when they found out Twitch streamer Amouranth was with [an AM way manlier than most of them lmao](http://cdn.cavemancircus.com//wp-content/uploads/images/2020/apri

Who I can think of Plant Tommy Morrison Pauli malinaggi (heβs Italian American. But still I needed people to add to this list. Btw he needs to be back on the mic)
Can someone help me with this list? No way is this post about race. But white American in boxing is rare these days. Itβs not like it was 50/60/70/80 years ago.
I'm considering getting a European model (I'm from the NTSC region), but I don't know what kind of differences may it have from the American model. Is there any kind of REALLY important detail that I should take into consideration before deciding if I buy one from one region or the other?
