A list of puns related to "New Zealand bank account number"
As the title states that's what happened, and I'm trying to figure out when I will get paid. I do see a thing on one of my stubs that says "CHKReissue." Does that mean they've issued a paper check and it's coming by mail whenever it gets here? It's for the same amount as the previous stub, but it has no account number under the direct deposit section where the previous one has the missing digit number.
Iβm mid 20s in Queenstown. Been abroad for 10 years and recently moved back last year - thank god. Finally need to set up a bank.
Any recommendations?
I just need to put money in to pay for rent / bills really nothing major.
Used a new accountant this year for taxes. He submitted them and I didnβt get direct deposit taken out. Asked him what account number did he use and he told me an acccojnt number I havenβt used in the last 5 years and did not tell him.
Howβd that happen ?
I paid online now but I need to ask state for refund because they donβt have my right info.
I have lived in Germany the past year and work as a freelancer for several German companies. As the standards methods for international payments often have large fees on them, I would like to be able to send the money myself through alleyways with less fees. That being said, there's no point if I will be double taxed on it... I know there is a double taxation agreement between NZ and Germany, but I don't know how this relates to the way I move the money around. Any advice would be much appreciated!
I just discovered Transferwise and learned I can have local bank details in said places and accept payments for free.
I don't know how local bank transfers generally work in those areas, so I wonder about things like:
I started reading about ACH transfers (in the US) and it seems to be a far better option than many payment solutions. The UK counterpart sounds good, too.
I have PayPal but I would ditch them if I could.
Transferwise sounds too good to be true, there should be a catch to it. But it seems (very) well accepted in general. I only wonder why it isn't getting the attention it deserves.
Any other tips?
TIA.

I have a person that is trying to send me money but they are asking for those 2 numbers to do so. Is it safe to do this? I looked it up and apparently those numbers are on all the checks you write so they canβt be that sensitive right?? Keep in mind that this person is new to my life.
Edit: they are saying they canβt use my email to send me an e-transfer cause they want to do a βpayrollβ
I'm incredibly irritated with how Varo is treating me right now. They sent me an email telling me to switch to the new app and that the old app was going to go out of service on Apr 22... but on Apr 2 I was locked out of my old account and hadn't gotten the replacement debit card yet so I was unable to access my money all weekend until my new card arrived on Monday Apr 5. I'm in the process of transferring all my money out now, but I have a direct deposit coming from my employer next week and it takes a full pay period for direct deposits to switch to new accounts (employer's timeline). Am I going to lose my money if it's sent to the old account?
Also, trying to find information about this online is very frustrating. It's like Varo is trying to pretend they aren't inconveniencing every one of their patrons as none of their FAQs are even acknowledging the switch. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm not excited about bringing a lawyer into this but I'm at the point where I would be willing to if I have to.
I'm in New Zealand currently and need to transfer some money to someone's NZ account from my UK bank account.
Unlike us however they don't have a separate sort code and account number, it's just one long number so transferring via my banking app isn't possible as I need to fill in both those fields.
Anyone know how to go about doing this?
Hi there,
I am a final year uni student from NZ, about to graduate from uni and currently looking to apply to companies both here and overseas. At the moment I'm studying Economics & Finance (double major), but would actually like to work in accounting - in firms like PwC or EY etc....because I developed an interest in financial management during my internship at the start of this year.
However, I haven't been to China in a long time and don't really have any relatives there (only in Hong Kong and Guangdong).
I would like to ask anyone here who knows anything or anyone (who I can potentially speak to) about the process, possibilities and also the life of working in the big 4 accounting firms and/or the major banks (as a graduate). Any advice would be really appreciated!
Thank you.
New uber driver drove today for first time made $130 on 12/30/21 and tommorow in new years eve 12/31 so I imagine i will make decent amount. Problem my rent is due the 1st trying to see if there is a way I can use" cash out "instant with either cash app debit card t?
when i singed up for uber i typed in my cashapp routing number and account number under my bank info.I am waiting on uber debit card to arrive just ordered it today. Its my first day driving if i add my cash app card under the add debit card section can i instantly collect funds for the day? I read on help menu about instant payout they had a list of accepted banks and cash app is owned by Lincoln Savings Bank which isnt listed on there list. so if I cant receive instant same day pay with my cash app card im worried if i add it in the debit card section it will delay my payment as right now pay out is once a week and not till Jan 3 for the funds i made to be deposited to my cash app when i entered my routing and account # under bank info.
anyone who has driven for uber and used there cash app to get paid please let me know if you were able to enter your cashapp debit card # and get same day pay or if you had to use your routing and account number under bank info how long did it take for your funds to be deposited? im tight on cash and dont have any other debit card or checking account and am waiting on my iber debit card to arrive in 4-6 days as i just singed up today for it.
I had this random thought while driving home today - I have had the same bank account number for a decade now and I have written numerous checks with my account number and routing number on the check. On top of that, I have been sending copies of my bank statement (which has my bank account number) to a lender as I've been house hunting.
Because my bank checking account number is now out there, and routing numbers for every bank can be found online, how easy is it for someone to wire/steal money from my bank account to something else?
Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question.
Not a complete stranger, but I'm not taking chances. How safe is it to give out all these information to someone who wants to deposit money into your account?
Hey Reddit and /r/CyberSecurityAdvice
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post - taking a leap of faith here as I am looking to help my MIL who got scammed today, and had her bank accounts cleaned out and she's lost everything (to the tune of about $8K). She's a pensioner, didn't have much in the first place, and is now in a really bad place. She's based in New Zealand and I am based in Canada, so am limited in what I can do to assist. We have local family (son) in IT helping out as much as possible.
Here's the scenario: She was called by someone posing as a Spark (a New Zealand ISP) engineer, who then took her down a 2 hour rabbit hole of "checking her modem, speeds, etc." and offering to upgrade her speeds and service for her and similar things. Sounds like it was a deliberately confusing conversation designed to tire her out and put her in a vulnerable spot. 2 hours!
A couple of things stand out from chatting with her today:
What I am curious and seeking ANY and all ideas on is:
I would appreciate ANY advice or assistance anyone has, hell I'd even connect you with my BIL if you were a local and keen/able to help. We're hoping for the bank route to work out, but I'm not hopeful - so figured I'd give Reddit a crack - I've seen amazing things happen with this community!
Thanks for reading this far...
Thanks for any information
Hi Japanlifers,
I arrived in Tokyo yesterday on a Resident Visa with my wife and got our Zairyu cards. I will be staying at a temporary quarantine residence for 6 weeks (2 weeks for quarantine and 4 weeks after so I have time to find new permanent accommodation). Even after reading and scouring many posts on r/japanlife and r/movingtojapan, I still feel lost in the bureaucratic madness. I do believe this is what I have to do in chronological order, but I am looking for external confirmation or pro tips from this sub!
a) Register temporary address at local ward office after 14-day quarantine ends with my temporary airbnb address and receive NyNumber (request for it to be printed on multiple copies of Juminhyo)
b) After temporary address is registered -> Get an MVNO data + voice SIM. For around 20GB, Sakura Mobile's might be the best. Heard that we shouldn't get any that runs on Softbank's network?
c) After I receive local phone number -> Open a local bank account. SMBC Prestia Trust & Japan Post Bank have been recommended due to ease of opening + english support. Also, request for a token so you can do online transfers. Any recommendations for online banks, and are these a must have in Japan?
d) After bank account is opened -> Find and confirm new permanent residence (I'm most likely finding outside of my temporary ward) through agent.
e1) After new permanent accommodation is found (1) -> Sign-up for gas, electricity, water and wifi before move in to new permanent accommodation
e2) After new permanent accommodation is found (2) ->De-register temporary address and inform temporary ward office of move-out process. Bring along Zairyu, Seal Registration Card, and MyNumber green card to complete de-registration.
f) After shifting in to new permanent accommodation -> Register new permanent address at permanent ward office within 14 days.
g) Once settled in -> Obtain Japanese driver's license before 1-year International Driving Permit expires. Also obtain Japanese credit card (besides easy to get ones like SMBC Prestia or Rakuten), but I heard you need to have a least one or two pay cycles under your belt since they'll ask you to disclose how much money you currently have in your Japanese bank account(s). You may also need to know some basic Japanese to get through the application form, and also handle 1-2 phone calls from them if they have clarifying questions.
Hope I've been detailed
