Stupid question, but I randomly thought about this and am wondering what would prevent it.
I start a religious organization, doesn't matter what, let's say a sect of Christianity. My religious beliefs is that communist ideals are ordained by God. Members would grant 100% of their income to the organization. The organization in turn uses the funds to buy large swaths of land and build housing. They then provide members access to food, housing, and all other needs with this money. Also provide funding to business in the area, who in turn give their profits to the organization. Other needs too, including private schools and private security.
I'd think the result would be a private communist organization which all members are free from taxation from the parent government. Of course they'd still retain citizenship of the us, and be subject to its laws.
Looking at maps or globes today, every inch of land is directly controlled by one country or another. The vast emptiness of the Sahara is claimed by a handful of countries even though the benefits to their country the desert brings is negligible. This goes hand in hand, I think, with the ideology of solid borders overtaking that of a march or neutral zone.
I know there is a forum module, I have used it on a number of builds and to be frank, it's poor, both in UX, as well as SEO and a number of other issues I won't get in to.
What I want to do is request some support in thinking about how we could go about making a recipe that would help others build a decent forum, something akin to Harmony Forum https://www.drupal.org/project/harmony_core

Which is no longer supported and one of the best forums I have ever used, even in comparison to phpBB, SMF and Drupal Forum/Advanced Forum.
I believe Drupal 8/9 can make a fantastic forum with it's core modules and a couple of other stable modules.
Would anyone be willing to talk this through and maybe try and build some test sites where we can help Drupal?
I am not a back-end developer, but have been using Drupal for over 10 years and believe we can make this happen out of the box so that others can follow the recipe and make their own forums in the future.
To Accomplish
- Users to register
- Users have user profile page
- Users to start topics
- Users to reply in topics
- A topic to have it's own clean configurable URL .com/forum/category/topic-name-here which would mean NO to comments as this isn't possible out of the box.
- A main forum page which has the latest posts
- Easy way to create forum categories which creates their own page and sections on the forum home page
- Text formats that can be used in the topic and replies
- Users which can be moderators
- Reply to a specific post in the thread https://www.drupal.org/project/quote
- Sticky/pin posts - This would work with content type nodes as this has this feature
- Anythign else?
I'm asking because I also have questions about incarnation and classification. I won't go into specifics right now unless asked about it. Even to me it sounds like tumblr otherkin bullshit.

I see no reason why churches (all religious entities such as mosques, synagogues, etc) should not be tax-exempt. They are often engaged in charitable work and religion in general needs to be kept as separate from government as possible. Removing the exempt status would cause churches to become even more involved in government as well. It would also violate the freedom of religion that we have in the US.
However, religious entities should be held to the same standards as other exempt entities. All exempt entities should have the same oversight equally. I believe they should file forms such as 990 and be held accountable for their income and expenditures. The flow of funds should be absolutely transparent and open to the public. I feel this would solve many problems regarding fraud and theft in exempt entities.
The only downside I can currently see is that it would cause a minor inconvenience to the genuine exempt entities to implement and maintain accurate records of income and expense. But this is no more an inconvenience to them than it is for other exempt entities and all foe-profit business. It should be seen as necessary to ensure that religious institutions are honest with their benefactors.
As an example, the Church of Scientology would be a very different and less destructive organization if their funds were transparent. The May not even exist at all without the ability to operate completely unregulated and with no fund trail.
Hi,
I am trying to buy raw materials from a US-based supplier to ship to my manufacturer (also based in US). Supplier is insisting me to provide them a W9 form and tax exempt form. Problem is my business is not registered/incorporated in the US, and these forms are only meant for US residents or businesses which registered in US.
I have told my supplier I can't fill these forms but they are very insistent on getting these forms from me. What should I do? Do I just simply pay additional sales tax if I don't give them these forms? How much would these sales tax be (5-10%)?
Basically, churches are reaping government benefits (tax protection, infrastructure, etc.) without providing anything back to the community or government.
I'm looking at you, Catholic Church. Even after we all found out you guys were committing felonies on the regular by moving around priests who were knowingly molesting kids, you still reaped the benefits from the government.
And don't get me started on the Church of Scientology. That is a straight up mafia organization up in there.
For example, the US has sanctioned Russia on a regular basis for the last 2 decades, yet Russia has not changed its behavior.
North Korea has been sanctioned into oblivion and hasn’t changed its behaviors.
I guess with Iran it brought them to the bargaining table, however the sanctions weren’t entities and individuals, it was entire sectors of their economy.
I just don’t see how freezing a few bank accounts, and banning entry for a few people is effective.

Are there any local college or university school officials willing to establish an active working relationship between a nonprofit entity and the institution of higher education [they represent] for the purposes of research or education?
