A list of puns related to "National Car Rental"
Anyone have an updated report on their recent experience at the National Car Rental at HNL? Were there cars available? How long were the lines? I have a reservation for this Friday for a premium class vehicle and wanted to gauge some expectations beforehand. TIA!
Hi all!
I'll be driving to Dawson City on Sept 1st from Whitehorse and was planning on visiting Tombstone national park on September 2nd.
I found out that the car rental agency I was going to book doesn't allow their vehicles on the Dempster highway.
Does anyone have suggestions on how I can get to Tombstone? And is the road from Dawson Creek to Tombstone bad enough that a non SUV wouldn't make it?
Thanks!
We're reserving a car with National Car Rental for an upcoming trip, and I noticed that I was seeing a different price than my spouse. When I expanded "Features & Pricing", under Adjustments I had:
EMERALD CLUB MEMBERS (25.0%) $-700.00
But my other half would see:
AMEX PLATINUM (15.0%) $-420.00
Sure enough, I logged into Amex, found the National benefit, clicked Enroll, and after clicking Accept or something a couple of times, my discount changed. I was now getting 15% instead of 25%.
Fortunately, we also found it's easy to unlink the Platinum. When you're in the middle of reserving, click the account at the very bottom left of the screen, and then click the "X" next to AMEX PLATINUM. After doing that, my spouse was able to get the 25% discount, and I was able to switch from 15% back to 25%.
Of course, this means we're losing Executive status and we're just plain old Emerald Club members at that point, but that seems worth it to save $280 on the reservation.
Have plain Emerald Club members always had a 25% discount, or is this something temporary and/or new? I thought maybe this is COVID-related, and once things are back to normal it might make sense to link our Platinum cards again.

My partner and I would like to visit Glacier National Park this year, and we're considering taking the train. However, we'd like to be able to get around easily once we arrive, and it doesn't look like the Amtrak stops/stations have car rentals available. Can anyone provide some insight--is there anywhere near the train station to rent a car? Or is it better for us to drive?
I had a rental car from National and hit the front bumper from the bottom on a Forest Service road, i.e. my fault and no one/nothing else damaged. I did not pay for the company's damage waiver and am instead relying on credit card damage waiver. The car was rented on MasterCard credit card with their loss damage waiver, so I am making a claim to MasterCard to cover the damage. However, in the meanwhile, National charged me $500 'Deductible'. When I asked them, they said the insurance would pay it out to me.
Now it has been over 3 months, and National still did not send me any damage report. I followed up, and they said they are still processing it. So I wanted to ask:
Location: Washington state, USA Edit: Clarified I am relying on credit card damage waiver
We moved into a new construction with one of those automated parking lifts. We pay $200 a month for this and this is the 4th time now that I have needed to use my car and the lift is not working, leaving my car trapped behind a barricade. This has been an ongoing problem and all of the tenants are affected. It is seriously impacting my ability to get things done...do I have any legal recourse here? I am beyond fed up at this point. Sorry for the ramble or if this is not the right place to ask this question.
