Considering taking a job at NatWest Group as a software engineer, and obviously they list their benefits but my parents seem to think that if you work for a bank they will give you preferred interest rates on mortgages.
I assume this was maybe the case when they were younger, but it is still a thing nowadays?
Kaiserreich Beta 0.17 - ‘Springtime for Kaiser’
Hey everyone! Our next update here, it's not a big one but is rather a huge compilation of bug fixes and some smaller changes. We hope you enjoy it all the same! Now stop memeing, the pretty words are here.
Changes
Notable Additions
The unit limit formula has been fully reworked - it now uses the country’s total population as a base, and then further modifies that value based on the country’s industrialisation relative to its population. The upper caps have been completely removed.
Removed the militia unit - militias are now represented by infantry division templates with low combat width.
Restored the resource gain from infrastructure, but at a rate of 5% instead of the vanilla 10%.
Syndicalist-aligned Social Democrats have been removed. All such paths have been reviewed and moved to full RadSoc or full SocDem.
Expanded the interactions of the Austrian Military Occupation path with Germany, Poland and the Belgrade Pact - The Brotherhood of Slavs as a faction no longer exists, and its previous members now join the Belgrade Pact instead, calling them into the war against Austria. If Austria loses this war, it then seeks formal integration into the German Empire.
The Union of Britain’s Republican Army and their high command are no longer a ragtag group of screamy militias.
Overhauled the Indian portraits and rosters.
Added support for additional font colours and characters for decisions and tooltips.
Ongoing rebalancing and speed-up work in the Spanish Civil War, which is now set up to end in 1939 or before in most runs. The Spanish Civil War will now always occur, unless bypassed in Game Rules.

New Custom Country Paths
Considerable variety of marital custom is attested in pre-IslamicArabia, though we do not know the extent to which any one prevailed. Strict endogamy (people marry only their own stock) or exogamy(people marry only outside their own stock) does not seem to have existed (though at the town of Matira northeast of San‘a permissionwas required to marry one’s daughter to an outsider, Qutra 1). And itwould in any case have been limited by the practice of marriage bycapture:
>They did not give us Tayyites their daughters in marriage, but we wooed them against their will with our swords. And with us captivity brought no abasement to them, and they neither toiled in making bread nor boiled the pot.But we commingled them with our noblest women, and they bore us fine sons, of pure descent. How often will you see among us the son of a captive bride, who staunchly thrusts through heroes in the fray. (Hatim al-Ta’i 66)
Most tribes would, however, at least have marked preferences. Somemight favour cross-cousin marriages, others felt that marriage withoutsiders produced hardier children and reduced the likelihood of family quarrels. Most disliked unions with people of very different manners. Thus a poet of Hudhayl is indignant at a proposal that heshould seek a bride among Himyarites, ‘who do not circumcise their women and who do not think it disgusting to eat locusts’, and Ta’abbata Sharra’s kin are mocked for allowing their sister to wed intoa tribe accused of cannibalism (Hudhaliyyun57, 147, 164).
Newlyweds might join either the husband’s or the wife’s natalhouse. In the former case marriage challenges a woman’s connectionto her natural kin and in some sense captures her for her husband’s(for which he pays a price, the dowry). He claims not merely wifely services but the woman as child-bearer and her progeny (whoever infact may sire them). The children belong to him and his people, primarily to him but residually to his lineage, who may in the eventof his demise perpetuate the group’s interest by supplying anotherhusband:
>In pre-Islamic times, when a man died and left a widow, hisheir, if he came at once and threw his garment over her, hadthe right to marry her under the dowry of her deceased masteror to give her in marriage and take her dowry. But if sheanticipated him and went off to her own people, then theytook charge of her.(Tabari, Tafsîr ad 4.23)
The second option imposes exactly opposite demands. A man’s h

>The Japanese people in the group (who had been with SGI for a long, long time) would enable the "evil Jews" and "Israel is evil" talk by stating, "Why are they like that?"
Japan has no history of having a Jewish demographic, with only about 400 Jewish residents as of ca. 1988 (see below). So it seems really odd that Japanese people would be expressing antisemitic views, doesn't it? After all, Sweden lacks a history of racism, and the word "niggardly", which comes from Swedish, means "miserly" or "stingy", has no connection whatsoever to the English anti-black racial slur, despite the phonetic similarity.
>Niggardly is a rather esoteric word meaning "stingy." Its resemblance to the racial slur >!nigger!< is accidental. It has been used in English since the Middle Ages, when black people of any kind were unknown in England, and had been imported to the country by Scandinavian Viking invaders in the 800s, in whose tongue nig meant "miser." Source
I remember back in the late 1990s, some guy in a city council meeting or some such said something along the lines of, "We don't want to be niggardly in administering this fund" and some people lost their freakin' minds! "He said the N-word!! He's a racist!!" In fact, dude resigned over the brouhaha! Ah, yes, the David Howard case - you'll see other similar freak-outs over the word "niggardly", which predates the N-word by at least a couple hundred years. A comment on the University of Wisconsin–Madison incident (same source):
>The student's plea, offered as evidence in support of the school's speech code, instead struck an unintended chord helping to destroy it. "Many 'abolitionists', as they now were called, believe that [the student's] speech, widely reported, was the turning point," according to an article in Reason magazine. An editorial in the Wisconsin State Journal addressed the student who complained, saying: "Thank you [...] for clarifying precisely why the UW–Madison does not need an academic speech code. [...] **Speech codes have a chilling effect on academic freed

##Trump connections
Federal law enforcement officials have uncovered cell phone data linking a Proud Boys member to “a person associated with the [Trump] White House” in the days leading up to the Jan. 6 insurrection. While the names of the two people involved have not been released, the New York Times states that the incident is not a Jan. 2 call between Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and Trump associate Roger Stone. The FBI has obtained a list of all phone numbers in contact with the Capitol’s cell towers during the riot, as well as a “geofence” warrant for all the Android devices within the Capitol building.
More on the Tarrio-Stone connection: Tarrio confirmed to the Times that he was in contact with Stone in the days before the insurrection. He admitted to calling Stone during a protest in front of Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) house on Jan. 2, putting him on speakerphone to address the crowd. A month earlier, Tarrio and fellow Proud Boys leader Ethan Nordean appeared on stage with Stone at a “Stop the Steal” event, calling for the crowd to “never surrender” and “fight to the bitter end” for “our revolution.” Nordean was later arrested for leading a group of Proud Boys into the Capitol to disrupt the electoral count.
The day before the December rally, Tarrio posted a picture of himself in

Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir has urged his players to “charge on” and not allow the disruption of being shifted from WA become a negative, despite leaving Perth unsure of where his team was going to train.
Longmuir told 7News before he boarded a charter flight to Melbourne with his team and West Coast, that he would back the experience of being forced out of Perth for two weeks earlier in the year to hold his team in good stead for what is expected to be a two-week stay in Melbourne to play Carlton and then Hawthorn in Launceston.
““It is what it is. We get direction off the AFL and they get direction off the government. There is not a lot we can do once all of the options are exhausted,” he said.
“We obviously experienced this earlier in the year and although we didn’t get the results we wanted, we thought we handled it reasonably well so we are hoping for more of the same this time.”
“We play Hawthorn in Tasmania next week so we will be away for that game. Fingers crossed post that game we can get home and get back into the normal season. Governments have been good at handling these things in the past and our government in WA in particular has been able to get on top of these things quite quickly so fingers crossed more of the same this time.”
Longmuir said he felt for Fremantle fans who will lose their second home game of the season but urged his players to take it in their stride. “We just have to charge on and make sure it doesn’t affect us in a negative way.” he said.
Longmuir expects Nat Fyfe to be fit to face the Blues and said the club had taken all of their squad except for the long-term injured to help with training. Where exactly training would be hadn’t been decided yet, he said. “There is not going to be a lot of staff left here so we will get the whole group over,” he said.
He said the Dockers had to “redeem” themselves for the round three loss to the Blues which he rated the club’s worst performance of the year. “They are a team that are really strong in the contest. They have got a good strong forward half game and they hit some form on the weekend,” he said.
“I don’t think they have been out of form this year. Lapses in games have cost them. They have been really competitive against some really good sides as well. “They stitched us up last time we played them. That was our wor

Here is everything you need to know to get you ready for the trading week beginning March 29th, 2021.
> Stocks could be buffeted by end-of-quarter trading in the week ahead, as pension funds and other big investors buy bonds and sell stocks to rebalance their portfolios.
> The dramatic move higher in bond yields this quarter sets up fund managers to shift their holdings, to make up for the shortfall in bond holdings.
> The focus in the coming week could turn to the overall economy, with the March employment report expected Friday and the White House’s infrastructure plans expected to be unveiled Wednesday. There is also ISM manufacturing data released on Thursday.
> The March jobs report is scheduled for a morning when the stock market is closed for the Good Friday holiday, but bonds will trade half a day, ending at noon. Economists expect 630,000 jobs were added in March, and the unemployment rate fell to 6% from 6.2%, according to Dow Jones.
> President Joe Biden is expected to unveil details of his $3 trillion to $4 trillion infrastructure plan on Wednesday in Pittsburgh, but strategists say it is too soon to say what form the plan could take or how large it will be in its final form.
> Stocks were higher in the past week, while Treasury yields were less volatile. The closely watched 10-year was at 1.67% Friday, down from 1.75% in the prior week. Yields move opposite price, and strategists expect rates to continue to slip in the coming week as investors rebalance their holdings.
> “It’s the last week of the quarter so there could be just a lot of noise related to that,” said Peter Boockvar, chief investment strategist at Bleakley Advisory Group. “Obviously, we’ll be keeping an eye on bonds. The 10-year now seems to be in a range of 1.60% to 1.70%. I think people are just trying to find their footing here. They’re trying to figure it out.”
> Some strategists say the quarter-end trade could end up being positive for stocks, especially big cap tech, since rates have stopped moving higher temporarily.
