A list of puns related to "Nasal cartilages"
I had rhinoplasty a year ago. As the swelling subsided, I could tell my nose didn't look right.
My side profile looks fantastic, but when looking straight at my face, you can tell my nose looks like it's shifted to the right... I thought it was the swelling, but it's been a year and from what it seems, I believe I have a depressed upper lateral nasal cartilage. The right side of my nose feels (and looks) full, while on the left, my nose looks like it concaves inwards right below my bridge (giving the illusion that my nose is shifted to the right).
This has been bothering me so much because prior to surgery, the only thing that was bugging me about my nose was the dorsal hump... I fixed one problem only to end up with another.
I was wondering why this could've happened. I tried my best to care for my nose post-surgery... My first rhinoplasty's recovery was hell. Can I fix this without having to go through another rhinoplasty?
I have a very recessed midface which I have considered jaw surgery to advance but I understand that is a very invasive and long recovery surgery. I also understand there are silicon midface implants however Iโm pretty opposed to having foreign material on my face for rest of my life. Does anyone have experience or knowledge about midface and nasal base augmentation using autologous cartilage and or bone?
So basically I was watching a movie and started picking my nose when suddenly I felt a tiny litle painful bump on the side of the nasal septum almost exactly on the middle. It felt kinda sore just like a pimple and when I pressed on it I felt sharp pain. I know pimples and zits can form on skin but on cartilage??? I am kinda worried because I can't find anything similar on the internet. Its 1-2mm wide and pointing outwards of the surface of the septom. Once I picked on it it formed some sort of crust. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you in advance! M21.
Hi Iโm a 33 year old, 62kg, 5โ10โ white female with no existing medical conditions or medications. Donโt smoke, but drink about 10 units a week. I have been snorting 1g of cocaine everyday for 5 months, and using recreationally at increasing amounts for 6 years prior. I have developed a large white scab on my right nasal membrane on the septum and yellow white one on the left nasal membrane. When I blow my nose there is no blood, itโs sometimes yellow though. I donโt have much pain now, but the last time I used there was very severe pain in my right nostril. I do saline rinses every time I use and have been applying Neosporin to the nasal membranes. Iโm worried the one on the right is actually exposed cartilage. Can you tell me how I can tell? Can you also let me know what the steps and tell tell signs to nasal perforation are? I am 3 days clean and intend to stay clean, but Iโm worried the damage has been done.
OK I know this is going to sound like an insane question but my anxiety is taking over and I need someone to tell me if I'm paranoid or not.
Long story short I had a bump that was draining a dark yellow liquid come and go on my septum for the past 4-5 months (the piercing is now 6 months old) and now there's a slight indent around the hole. I went to an APP certified piercer and he said it was probably just from the jewelry moving around. I've read that a septum piercing can cause cartilage in the nose to melt away if an infection spreads.
Is this actually true and could that have been the cause my reoccurring, oozing bump (or am I just imagining that the tip of my nose feels softer/more flexible)?
Once again sorry for my paranoia but I really don't want to take this piercing out just because of my anxiety.
Served active duty from 2008-2016 and was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. I had constant allergies and sinus infections. I could barely breathe with my right nose always be restricted and clogged. Saw several ENT doctors through the military and the VA when I got out. They have always given me the same answer, take Allegra/allergy medication and nasal spray. My base was surrounded by pollen and other things I was allergic too. This rarely ever worked and I gave up.
Fast forward to 4 months ago. I finally go to a private doctor through Kaiser. I see a ENT doctor and tell him my issue. He looks inside my nose and no bullshit, within 20 seconds he goes you have a deviated septum and enlarged turbinate on both side of your nose. He tells me no wonder I am not able to breathe from my right nose and sometimes my left nose. He suggest I get a surgery for deviated septum and turbinate reduction.
I had my surgery last Saturday and bad headaches throughout the next few days. This morning, I saw my doctor to get the splint removed from my nose from the surgery. The doctor tells me, my right nose was actually worse then he thought. He states that not only was my cartilage bent, i had a bone sticking out and blocking my airway as well.
Soon as my doctor removed the splints from my nose, I literally felt cold air coming inside my nose. My god I can breathe from both my nose and take in a lot of air compared to before. I feel more energized and more awake.
I cannot believe that the Military ENT doctor and VA doctor never told me this. They kept saying it was strictly from my allergies. The bone and cartilage would never be fixed with taking medications.
End rant
Diagnosed with 10% allergic rhinitus. If you have issues with breathing, please see a ENT doctor and see if this can alleviate your issues.
Had my first dose April 13th (Canadian so long wait between doses) 34 year old female, autoimmune (RA). Dose two is in two days and Iโm extremely anxious. I got sick two days before my first booked appointment, canceled it and got tested. Test came back negative, rebooked for the next week. I was still a little sick - terrible idea but I was desperate and made a bad decision. Due to what happened next I ended up keeping a log in my phone which Iโll paste below.
Tuesday, April 13 1:20pm (vaccine administered)
Wed: arm slightly tender/heavy like a flu shot, felt pretty good overall. Insomnia only slept 3:20am to 6:20am was so tired.
Thurs: 8am went to work, tired from lack of sleep but felt relatively good. No arm soreness at all. Around 11am First noticed Pain/pressure in nasal cartilage; like beginning of a sinus infection. Then just before noon insane bought of nausea. Like getting hit by a truck. Hard to focus on anything, loud gurgling sounds from stomach. Barely keep water down. Sat outside. It was 25c outside and I had goosebumps. felt more sick standing; almost like my vision was going to black out. Hard to think clearly. Had to be driven home almost locked my keys in the car twice trying to lock up and do up windows. Throat pain. Eye pain, joint pain in hands. Intense pain in lower back. Nausea. Came home so tired. Still canโt sleep - over 10 hours after coming home. Laid outside with blankets on couch. Slight chest heaviness. No temperature
Fri: bad headache, eye pain, pain in nose cartilage. Still only sleeping in short bursts 1-2 hrs. Joint pain in toes
Sat: chest heaviness, increase joint pain; feels like left foot was smashed with a hammer , more energy, slight dizziness, feeling weak
Mon: tingling face
Tues: spotting (less than two weeks out from cycle) sore throat returning, slight nausea
I ended up in emergency twice after that in a week. Was given a covid test (negative again) the staff thought I had it. One man while giving me an IV told me a story starting with โwhen I had covid...โ IV Fluids were given twice, chest ray, CT scan, loads of blood work. All the tests came back normal - CT picked up a sinus infection and I was put on antibiotics for that. It took three weeks to feel normal again. Iโve talked to my doctor and he told me to go ahead with dose two. Due to my medications Iโm clinically extremely vulnerable and the benefits outweigh the risks.
Please send me some positive stories. I need them!!
Edit: the formatting is a mess, I tried to fix it up somewhat, sorry if it's obnoxious.
So as the title states, I believe I have an autoimmine disease that seems to correlate with periods of high stress in my life. I have not yet received a diagnosis and have been searching for a while. I gave my search up in 2020 when my symptoms all seemed to disappear and my life felt normal again for nearly a full year. This past month has been treacherous and I'm starting to worry once again. This post is long and thorough, so thanks in advance if you take the time to read it. Everything after this sentence will have been copied from a document I've compiled.
Summary of Symptoms by Year:
Preface:
Symptoms started presenting in February of 2018. They came on suddenly and developed quickly, and as such I started to record my symptoms daily in a medical journal and I've been doing this since around late March of that year. The first symptom I had was extreme pain around my testicles which was later diagnosed as epididymitis. I was prescribed Ciprofloxacin for treatment after just a physical examination and description of pain which I took 500mg twice daily for 10 days. The symptom seemed to go away but I couldn't tell if it was time, placebo or the medication. Since then the symptom has become chronic returning several times. The next symptoms I started to experience were bowel pain and abnormalities, body-wide pain, and a persistent dry cough. Over the course of these distressing symptoms I developed severe health anxiety which undoubtedly exacerbated my condition and probably manifested in its own physical symptoms; however, the extent of this is still unknown to me. Here is a comprehensive list of the symptoms with dates:
2018-2019:
-ย Fatigue; feeling abnormally fatigued and lacking energy for a year or more; often finding it difficult to get through an entire day without the need of a nap or rest period, progressively getting worse over time (duration: several months up to about a year)ย Update Sept-Dec: no changes, still always tired.
-ย Testicular (epididymis/vas deferens) pain; pain felt like it was radiating from testicles and extended into the buttocks and upper thighs. Groin and pelvic area also often hurt (duration: first noticed late February but became prominent in March - subsides in April but has recently returned in late July; epididymis also seems to be swollen again)ย Update Sept-Dec:ย it has clearly been identified as inflammation of my

I have worked insane hours like this in the past, but it was very taxing. I can not back out of this job so I am preparing the best I can. Here are my thoughts on what I plan on taking. Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.
-L-Dopa Morning and evening for the increased GH output and improved quality of sleep. I preload for a week and continue to take it.
-Adrafinil or some type of 'finil I will put this off until I feel that I need it.
-Orexin-A Nasal Spray I have never taken this due to the cost, but I feel that it will be a very wise investment for the endeavor. Start and use when needed.
-1,4-Butanediol I know this isn't entirely a nootropic. I have used it in the past when my hours of sleep are going to be short. To shoot me straight into REM. I'm thinking sleep naturally for 2 hours, wake up via alarm, dose and get 4 more hours. Starting not immediately, but probably early off.
-Phenibut Maybe not at all. Sparingly if I do use it. I feel that with Orexin-A the anxiety of sleep deprivation will be not as bad.
I believe I am forgetting something...
Not nootropics, but additions I believe will be useful: Shark cartilage for joints, maybe MSM, multi vitamins and am going to ask my doctor for a Norco script as PRN given the situation.
Once again any and all input is appreciated.
Thank you all very much
I had a consult with a surgeon recently who suggested he would want to place a septal graft on my tip to stabilize it (it's a nice tip, but droops when I smile). I never considered my nose underprojected so I'm just curious if this is a common thing surgeons do for stabilization.
I want to tell you the story of a small American town that disappeared from the face of the Earth in December of 2020. You wouldnโt know about itโโso much was happening in 2020 that the news cycles were already full.
The town disappearedโโand so did memories of itโโalmost without a sign.
Almost.
Itโs not so different from the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island, 1587-1590. Once Roanoke disappeared, the only clue left behind was the chilling word โCroatoanโ etched into the fortโs gatepost.
The clues in this story are slightly different, slightly more substantiveโโharrowing accounts of what happened throughout 2020, as opposed to singular, cryptic words. In this collection, youโll find twelve stories of strange events that occurred there, one from each month throughout the townโs final year, left behind by the people who called it home.
I havenโt been able to discern a thread tying things togetherโโmaybe you willโโbut my conclusion is this: something demonic settled over the town, strange energy or an unknown cosmic force, and the people who were there suddenly werenโt.
They disappeared, but not before experiencing horrors that I wouldnโt wish on my worst enemy.
How many bad things can happen to one small town?
A lot. A whole hell of a lot.

ACCOUNT #1โโJANUARYโโA SONโS LOVE
Monsters come in all shapes and sizes. An indifferent plague. A mass murderer. Something that lives under your bed.
A different kind of monster started hovering over my house at the beginning of 2020. It made me do something unspeakable, but unspeakable can be โrightโ even if it feels wrong.
The snow melted throughout January. Momโs brain melted too. It just sort of turned into mush. She had Alzheimerโs, and it had always been bad, but then it came full-on like a freight train. Within a few weeks, the mom Iโd known and loved was gone. Watching the snow disappear made me feel like I wasnโt the only one in the world who was watching something melt.
Momโs doctor warned me it would happen โSlow and steady,โ but in the end, it was a flash flood.
Doctor Smith sketched out some pictures of what Alzheimerโs does to a personโs brain. Essentially, it shrinks. If a healthy brain is like a plump grape, an Alzheimerโs afflicted brain is like a shriveled raisin. All the little folds, all the twists and turnsโโthe edges become hard and dark, and pink turns to black.
As Doctor Smit

My face is really thin and I have a weak chin but my nasal bones (not my nostrils or the cartilage) are really wide.
Since the nasal aperture is apart of the maxilla, could one theoretically shrink this by mewing? Iโd appreciate the insight.
This is my first post here and my first story. I'm testing the waters at this point, just barely got formatting down, and I'm a little rusty from 2 years of not writing. Don't ask me why. Also, due to the fact I went into a writing frenzy, I already went over Reddit's 40,000 character limit... Several times over. So, I divided this story into four parts. Try to bear with this Xeno, she's recovering from being in a... Unique mind. If any of you are interested I'll expand further and maybe explain things that aren't immediately obvious in some kind of primer. If you guys want a primer that is. If you all aren't interested I'll just leave it with one story. I don't own anything that I may inevitably reference, they all belong to their respective owners.
In the healer's nook of a Vyp-class cruiser, a yellow-furred and white-bellied Vulpin was having quite a heated discussion with a sapient AI. It was so loud that the entire star system could hear it. The reason for this is that these little mammals were psionics who drew their power from a mysterious realm called the Shroud. Most of the inhabitants in the system were of that race.
Some races were psi-attuned with the capacity to receive the pulses of a psionic but not much more than that. Thanks to the marvel that is Vulpin engineering, the thinking machines were capable of receiving and sending out artificial pulses. This AI was no exception as xe pulsed xyr concerns to the bushy-tailed mammal.
Are you certain you are well enough to give the Archprophet your report, Archealer Vexi? Your vitals are still erratic and your psi-aura is unstable. "Yes, Annon. I believe I am well enough to give our leader my report on the fascinating two-paw the crew has rescued." Vexi projected with as much optimism as her vexed psi-aura can muster, "My current vitals and psi-aura are nothing compared to what they were before I went into that coma."
*Very well. But, you are risking another severe fit that will put the psi-aural harmony of this star system in jeopardy. If this occurs, I will be forced to have the psi-null guards bodily carry you to t

About a year ago, I started to pick my gums a lot, loving the throbbing sensation that would come from sticking my fingernails in near the teeth and seeing them bleed. Eventually my family and friends caught onto this behaviour, which led me to wean myself off of the self-harm so that they would get off of my back about it.
I have now however started to terrorize my nose instead. I have one nose ring on each nostril, and I will constantly pull and push the rings into my nose until it bleeds or cracks. Although my family has caught onto this behaviour too, the impulse is so strong that I find myself doing it constantly, in public or not. My parents find the behaviour quite disturbing, as Iโve always got a hand on my nose squeezing it or manipulating the cartilage plates and rubbing them together.
I canโt find any info on my situation anywhere online.... closest Iโve come across is chronic nose picking or case studies of instances of rare nasal self-harm... I would just like to know if anyone can relate at all to my situation, or if they have any tips on how to stop! I am afraid I might cause permanent nose damage if I continue, but I am addicted.
I'd best describe myself as a stunted slug. I am objectively overweight, short, with a round face and oily skin. My hairline looks terrible for a woman and I shouldn't keep lying to myself about that. My shoulders are broad. I'm an immunocompromised toad with no physical strength.
I have dark circles under my eyes and darkened joints, which I'm told is my genetic skin coloration. My natural features are either boring or make me look like a creep.
I'm missing nasal cartilage and have hypermobility, my movements look like if a salamander decided to go for a stroll. My chin has a chin. I have dark body hair that has to be shaved once every two days and I'm tired of looking at my disgusting, bloated body in the mirror, I don't feel like that thing is me.

So 3 and a half years ago I (20F) had a nose job to fix a bump. The doctor completely botched me. He left me with a saddled nose, a polly beak deformity, a resected bridge, an over resected cartilage, and a nasal valve collapse. Then, last year I went to another doctor for a revision that didnโt fix anything, he just made my nose wider. My parents paid for both and they were pretty cheap (surgery in my country is cheap) Now, I just feel like a monster, I want to kill myself. I have been in online consultations (with the little money I have saved) with many doctors all over the world and all agree on how fucked up my nose is. I have been trying to save money, but I have looked at Upwork, LinkedIn (I live in a terrible country were the salary is 20$ a month) and havenโt been lucky finding a job. I tried selling feet pics, selling my clothes but havenโt been lucky there either. I am transferring to another college on Spring of next year to finish my studies and I just donโt want to be seen like this. I just want to die. I have nobodyโs support. I went to a psychologist but didnโt help much and I donโt have money to pay it anymore. There is no hope for me, I know my nose is fixable but it seems impossible to get the money. I know there are people with much worst deformities such as burn victims.
My grades in college had gotten worst, I have no desire to do anything or to go out, I am no longer able to enjoy the things I used to enjoy. This situation has destroyed my life and self steam and I am all alone in this. I would like to fix this, and move on but it is impossible. I better kill myself than keep living like this.
Really regretting my decision to have rhinoplasty. I know Iโm extremely early in the healing game, but I could tell I hated my nose from the minute I woke up from surgery, before the swelling had even started. I could tell my nostrils weโre now uneven and a didnโt show as much as before and my tip was extremely round and unsightly. I mainly wanted rhinoplasty to get rid of a small bump on the bridge and a slight saddle deformity from the 3/4 view. I originally had a slightly pinched, very refined tip. I asked the surgeon many times to keep my tip refined. I didnโt mind the pinched look and quite liked it. I didnโt want a round tip at all. Well thatโs exactly what I got- an extremely wide, round tip that makes me look like gonzo. He altered parts of my nose I was happy with- he made my nostrils more round instead of almond because he said I had a snarl. He added a ton of cartilage to the tip and sides of my nose and didnโt shorten my nose at all or lift the tip. So my nose now looks very long from the front and profile views with no definition at all. Most say their tip drops after rhinoplasty and Iโm scared if mine drops anymore I will look like I was hit with a frying pan because it looks so wide and flat/ round. Not triangular at all. He also broke my nasal bones so my nose is much more narrow up top which Iโm also not sure about. I want my old nose back more than anything.. especially my old nostrils and tip. I didnโt tell any family or friends I was having this done and went through the healing process alone. I swelled and bruised more than average. I still have a ton of facial swelling and both my eyes are still black. I also have a broken blood vessel in my eye that looks awful. I got my cast removed and had to call my dad to tell him as I needed support to deal with this horrible new nose. He was extremely upset with me that I even went through with this type of surgery. Iโve been crying all day and hyperventilating. Iโm just so depressed now. Also, when I asked my surgeon after cast removal if the tip would go back to its refined shape before surgery he didnโt give me much hope and brushed me off. I think he was offended I didnโt like his work. He told me he would not discuss any final results at this time. I asked him if the tip was swollen or if this was how it would basically look (extremely round) and he did not give me an answer and seemed annoyed saying itโs not the time to discuss results. I just wanted some sort of hope. Iโm devastated and

He couldn't get there fast enough.
Slipping, falling and scrambling for purchase made for slow going. Aldi didn't care. He chased the sinuous trail of the drone across each road, hunting for tracks until they disappeared to the left around a badly mangled support post. He angled that way, cutting the corner of the last walkway with enough speed to nearly go over the safety rail. And there it was: The Admin building.
One and a half stories tall, with aerials and at least one antenna sticking over the top like spines. The back side of the building was a study of Corporate thinking: Ugly, blocky maintenance sheds. A small power plant hedged around with badly maintained fencing. Autocyclers stacked to one side, angled chutes above them stained with garbage and leftover packing material. Whatever aesthetics budget the colony paid obviously went to the front and interior of the building because the working area was a mess. The sole concession to utility was the paving: A loading area and maintenance access stood on hard surfaces, covered in footprints of filth but perfectly walkable.
Aldi tracked the drone path onto the paved area, then lost it for a moment in a confusion of overlapping vehicle trails. He frantically cast around the yard for a clue, then noticed scarring on the rusty western fence. Bright spots, shiny from damage, standing out against orange oxidation. He ran that way, shoulder-checking a nearby gate open and rounding the building corner at a dead sprint. Only sheer chance drew his attention to the ladder going up the side-- it was one of those emergency types that extended downward under weight but pulled up automatically afterwards. Emergency use only. Except this one sported obvious gouges of clean metal around the rungs where industrial paint stripped off.
The drone had gone upwards, moving vertical in a way he couldn't follow.
"Oh no. Oh shit." Aldi jumped for it, missing the bottom of the ladder by a good two feet. Then again, running up and kipping off the wall with one boot to leverage a higher jump. Closer, but not enough. He was about to sprint back to the holding area-- find something to stand on, perhaps-- when two things occurred at once.
The first was there had to be interior stairs, or at least a rooftop access. He wasn't any kind of gravity-design architect or anything; stations had their own requirements that were vastly different than dirtside. But it made sense. Especially considering having to
... keep reading on reddit โกHello! I had a primary rhinoplasty done in 2017 to remove a bump on my bridge and attempt to straighten my nose as much as possible after I broke it in 2007. The surgeon did a great job of removing the bump off my bridge and my side profiles/tip etc look great, but unfortunately still looks a bit crooked looking straight on from the front. Basically one side of my bridge curves in, while the other side of the bridge is more straight, so my nose leans to the left of my face (although I think my tip is centred?).
Iโve thought about revision surgery but a lot of doctors are hesitant to do a revision on me given that my nose is fairly decent overall, other than the slightly crooked bridge. My original surgeon offered to put in a mastoid fascia graft to fill in the indent. The surgeon said it would be mostly permanent but there is a possibility that my body could dissolve some of the graft meaning that I would need another graft or filler. Itโs a lot less invasive than a revision surgery and can be done while awake, and is a lot cheaper too. The surgeon said it wonโt be 100% straight but thatโs also the same as a revision, thereโs no guarantee that surgeons can make crooked noses perfectly straight and obviously thereโs all the risks and recovery period that comes with having another surgery.
Iโm definitely leaning towards this option especially because I would have to travel across the country to get to some revision specialists and a lot of them have turned me down already. Just wondering if anyone else has had this done or knows about it? I can attach a picture of my nose too for reference:
Thank you :)
I had a turbinate reduction surgery 2 years ago, and nasal breathing became possible after that (couldn't breath from nose for 2-3 years).
I have been mewing 7/24 for the last 10 days and started to feel pressure on my nose which become slightly sore if I press on the spot and pressure on my brows.
The exact location is on the left side of the "lateral cartilage".
Could this be due to maxilla development? Could there be any risks I should watch out for?
24M, 75kg, 183cm, USA. Quit Bupropion recently. Use prescribed Clindamycin and tretinoin for facial acne, and a sulfur thing for body acne. This is not a dermatology post, though haha
Was on nasal steroids (nasacort and one or two others) for several years. Haven't used a nasal spray in a few years.
The post:
I slept on a very dusty bed one summer more than 10 years ago. Woke up with a super allergic reaction. I had a flight that day and it only got worse during it. When we landed the hospital medical staff gave me a shot that made the allergic reaction go away. After some tests the only allergy we could confirm was that to dust mites.
Cue years of feeling stuffed, having to snort (to suck in phlegm whether there was any or not), and feeling like my breath is limited. I always thought after that shot I never got my original breathing back.
Some ENT visits later, I was diagnosed with a deviated septum. I had a septoplasty (and a turbenoctomy too I later found out).
For a few years things seemed fine, if not better. I didn't have to compulsively snort as much (still had to every time I brushed my teeth, but otherwise was much rarer). This might be an important point. I need to brush my teeth to clear out my nose/mouth and feel like I can breathe when I wake up and before bed. But a few years ago my deteriorating breathing made me notice: I have a collapsed valve.
Diving in the sea or a pool, running. It's night and day now vs "before". I struggle so much to fill my lungs, and without effort/resistance my lungs immediately make me exhale (which is normal in general I'd agree but this feels more extreme).
I can't breathe on autopilot. When trying to sleep or concentrating watching/reading something, I catch myself not breathing for a second, run out of breath, then consciously resume breathing. I'm always stressed and anxious and after years of practice, deep breaths to calm me down/improve my mood have become habit. A habit I no longer have access to.
That's on top of never getting a satisfying breath in years due to the turbenoctomy, causing me to barely feel air enter my nose/lungs when I breathe in (empty nose syndrome?), which is depressing in its own right especially when coupled with the frustration of never bein

Long post incoming!
Just had my consultation with Dr. Noorman, and I'm writing this post mostly for myself to sort out my thoughts, but also for others looking for alternative FFS surgeons in Europe, seeing as we have so little choice every bit of information helps.
TLDR at the bottom.
So the consultation was 1 hour and I had to pay 50 โฌ for it. before consultation I had to fill in a form of varying details about exercise, previous facial procedures etc. In addition to that I sent in pictures of frontal (neutral, slight smile, open smile) 45 degrees, and 90 degree profile pictures in both directions.
It starts off with him asking my preferred language, apparently he speaks a number of languages, and we settled on English (which he spoke decently, but had difficulties occasionally).
Most of the session we talked about the three areas I had highlighted as my main concern, which he agreed would give the biggest bang for buck.(forehead, orbital rims and rhinoplasty) He went into great detail how he would perform the surgeries in a way no other surgeon I've talked to have. He showed me pictures of the anatomy and what he would do in my particular case. This was about 70% of the consultation.
A few key values he expressed repeatedly during the consultation was :
- that he hates scars, how they affect a person's subconscious judgement of you in a similar way to masculine features, (and thus recommended going with a coronal approach to forehead rather than at the hairline, similar to facial team) Although different from them he would perform the incision ~2 cm into the hair, and not as far back as FT.
- Highlighted the importance of how shadows and lights fall on the face in determining sex, as well as forehead to nose curvature, orbital rim to cheek curve.
- how his primary goal was to achieve a result harmonious with my facial type, rather than a one-fits-all approach. (I want to stress that he repeated and emphasized this many times and I really believe he means it). He showed me before and after pictures not available online of recent patients and from those pictures I believe him, he doesn't default to the upturned button nose you see so often, on some of them they keep a slight bump or downturned tip, but they were most definitely feminized and according to me was fitting for the patient. This is preferred for me because i want to retain a slight bump and angularity in my nose, just make it smaller and fix a few other issues.

I donโt need or want an Instagram tiktok perfect nose - I just want to breathe better, look the same if not subtly better but very natural, and have a strong nasal structure that lasts me all my life so I never have to deal with surgery again. I had a rhinoplasty 15 years ago but now I canโt breathe - it seems to have gotten worse as I aged. I need an expert in functional revisions to restore breathing, that can handle complex reconstruction cases and do grafting with donor rib cartilage if needed and definitely is double board certified ENT & plastic surgeon.
Trying to find the best surgeon to trust my nose too, after a primary that looks fine but I canโt breathe well. Any recommendations or referrals would be great. Thank you so much!
So I'm actually at the ENT now and I'm bored waiting to finish my visit, but so far it's looking like nasal valve collapse. He's talking reconstruction, the Latera implant, who knows what all. I can't breathe out one side of my nose without pulling my nostril or my cheek away. This is very inconvenient while wearing a mask and also trying not to spread or get germs! But mostly I just want to breathe again.
So tell me your stories about your shitty noses that refuse to do the ONE JOB they have. And if you had surgery, if it worked!

INTROOOO:
Hey! Iโm NPC. Someone once upon a time suggested to me that I should share my looksmaxxing journey here. So here I am! If you read my post history (which Iโm sure many of you will) youโll know that I am an autistic hot mess. I also used to be a normie, and combined with autism, I was probably not all that different from that one kid your classmates cautiously veered away from in the cafeteria. So, life sucked. I was ok though, because I had some good friends and a cute, kind girlfriend. Then, I drifted apart from my friends (read: had mental breakdown and decided to break off every relationship in my life) and my gf broke up with me. After my ex dumped me for being a โwaste of potentialโ and โnot pretty or charming enough for herโ I realised it would be a worthwhile project to invest in my physical appearance. With the power of autistic obsession and nerdiness on my side, I commenced the ultimate glow up journey aka research project aka nerd hobby.
FYI: thereโs nothing about makeup or clothing style in this guide, because I am allergic to a lot of makeu

End rant
Diagnosed with 10% allergic rhinitis. If you have issues with breathing, please see a ENT doctor and see if this can alleviate your issues.
