A list of puns related to "Music supervisor"
Post says it all. I am freaking out I donβt know what to make of this!!!!
Hey Curtis aficionados, for those interested in the music and soundtrack of the Adam Curtis documentaries, I interviewed Gavin Miller who was the music supervisor on Hypernormalisation and Canβt Get You Out of My Head for my podcast Sounds Seen - where I interview music supervisors about their work on specific films or TV shows.
It was great to understand the process and get a glimpse into Adamβs expectedly enigmatic way of working.
Gavin also contributed to the soundtrack under his moniker Worriedaboutsatan and as music supervisor was one of just two people sharing music with Curtis for the films. (The other one was the guy from Massive Attack lol)
You can listen to it at the following:
Hope you enjoy!
Where do you find the Soundcloud deep cuts that are so on the nose? Are they specifically written for the show? Do you deliberately try to find songs that explore compelling themes, like:
βIβm in it for the chase, Iβm in it for the race, Iβm gooooonna win first placeβ
βBoy, youβre not a boy, youβre not a man, we need to talk!β
βSuper cars, super stars, weβre living it, weβre living it, Beverly Hillsβ
Whoever you are, I am looking forward to hearing from you.
I'm not talking Submithub or anything along those lines - rather direct to curators, A&Rs, and power players. I submitted to a site like this 4 years ago and got a response this week which blew my mind - made me realize I should do this more but it's hard to tell what's meaningful these days. Any pointers would be great!
Hi everyone, I am a 2020 Music Business graduate from Full Sail with a long background in music performance and composition, looking to get into music supervision. However, I am finding it difficult to get into the space. Would anyone have advice on how to start out?

I work in post-production sound and music production, Iβve always dreamed of a video where they check out the music and sound editing side of film. That would be sooo cool.
Not sure who actually gets credit for it, but I loved how every time Chris was in the hot seat they played the sound of a beating heart. Great job!
Hey! I'm an aspiring music supervisor with going on 1.5 years of experience in marketing at one of the major labels for their top artists and brands. I'm determined to pivot to the music supervision/sync licensing area of the industry.
I'll music supervise your film for free, as I'm trying to build up my portfolio. I have connections to some talented indie artists and the drive to track down anyone else who's a great fit for your short/feature film/series. Message me and let's work together.
FYI I started in the film side of things! I produced award-winning short films, learned a lot about, and invested in, filmmaking before transitioning to music. I've never really left that world as I continue to give feedback to my film colleagues and stay in the loop of their projects.
Hey everyone! For those interested in the music and soundtrack in Pose, I interviewed Amanda Krieg Thomas who is the music supervisor on Pose for my podcast Sounds Seen - where I interview music supervisors about their work on specific films or TV shows.
It was great to understand the process and get a glimpse into how they approached the fab music behind the show - including what it took to get Grace Jones and Madonna to approve the usage of their iconic songs.
You can listen to it below:
Hope you like it :) Feel free to follow the podcast on Instagram and Twitter to stay posted on new episodes - I interview a music supervisor about a film or TV show every two weeks - the next episode is on the amazing film Waves. xo
