Hey guys, Ive done some heat diffusivity measurements for a monoclinic crystal. Unfortunately my measurements are THRU PLANE, so I need to get some vectors in a cubic system to be able to compare my results.
I have done it 2 ways: A) first i used trigonometry (sine theorem, cos theorem) to calculate the surface normal on the plane. Then i used the given transformationmatrix to transform the vectors into a cubic system.
B)instead of trigonometry i used the cross product (containing only the lenghts of the sides, e.g. a, b but not angles) of the two vectors that make up the plane to calculate the surface normal. Here i already got different results than my trigonometric calculations.
My question is: Is it a legit calculation if I use the crossproduct to determine the surface normal? Or do I need to add some sin/cos terms to take the angles=/= 90° into account? Because I thought the transformationmatrix would gake care of these angles... And the first step with the crossproduct means its still the surface normal in the monoclinic system so neglecting angles =/=90°?
What am I missing? Depending on which of these two is right, im getting massively different results.

I'll sum up the magic system as quickly as possible:
- The magical crystals that source magic only occur on special creatures. Eg. Unicorn's horns are made of it, Phoenixes wings are made of the crystal
- Different animals have purer crystals (the purer, the more powerful)
- Unicorn horns are the most pure. They are so pure a human will die if they hold one for more than a couple seconds
The problem is, I don't actually know what to make these crystals do. My first thought was they are made into things like wings to do things but I don't really like that.
I would like (for plot purposes) the manipulation of light to be possible somehow, but it's not 100% necessary.
Any ideas on how and what for these crystals are actually used?
The leaders of Crystal have recognized that this year they have unprecedented demand and their parking reservation system is not able to deal with it. So therefore to address that, they are starting a new reservation system where you can reserve a time to attempt to reserve a parking spot. Every ikon pass user will get 1.5 spots on the reservation system per fortnight.
If the reservation system in front of the parking reservation system is not able to scale the demand we will create a third tier reservation system in front of the other reservation systems. We want you to know that we have our top people working on this and it was not possible for anyone to foresee the high demand on the parking reservation system. (Just kidding)
Hey, I'm looking to see how many players are interested in the 5v5 Systems of the game (even if it's Hell Gates, 10v10s, or 20v10s) but don't for some reason. If you do engage but wished for better accessibility or onboarding into the 5v5 Systems, that would be good information as well. You should mark different options on the poll but also please leave any comments and info :)
