These are the two areas that interest me the most, but once I graduate I have no idea how to go about looking further into administrative careers in these areas.
I'm an avid cyclist, which is why I have a strong interest in traffic infrastructure, with particular respect to pedestrian and cyclist traffic improvements / safety.
I also enjoy camping, hiking and the outdoors in general and would love to be able to use my skills and knowledge to work with some public agency or government office on conservation or recreation regarding public lands.
I'm open to any advice on how to better search for careers in these fields.
Thank you!
There's a lot of work bridging the neuroscientific and psychological concepts of "delay of gratification" to personal economic decisions, but it seems to me that inabilities to delay gratification might also influence investments at a larger, societal scale. Is there any scholarly work on this topic? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
(I would be particularly interested in situations where such decisions could be influenced by social trust of the investing entity, but that may be asking too much).
Why do people feel the need to defend a private company? Reddit is transmitted through fiber optic cables that are owned by the public. The internet is a public resource. A private company that assumes a quasi-government function is bound to remain content-neutral. If reddit, or Condi Nast, wants to curate ideology, then they shouldn't be permitted to use public resources to disseminate their ideology.
If your website serves a particular viewpoint, then you can discriminate based on content. A C.atholic website doesn't have to host opinions calling for conversion to other religions. The New York Mets official website doesn't have to host opinions about the Phillies or Nationals.
But, Reddit does not claim to be a proponent of a particular viewpoint. Reddit does not claim to be an advocate for a cause, ideology, or party. If Reddit, or Candi Nast chooses to benefit from the public resource of the internet, they either have to announce that they are a shill for a cause or ideology or remain content neutral.
