A list of puns related to "Minimum audibility curve"
Second time taking 2E, Iβm at a 66.77 and cannot afford to get below a C- a second time :)
Hi there, what are y'alls favorite ways to increase consonant audibility?
I find with Anri that her consonants are kind of weak, and with the interest of getting as much pitch out (which is a challenge in understandable English synth vocals), I find raising the duration and strength kind of a cop out. Also, I don't care for how it sounds when I raise the breathiness of all the consonants, and this creates a ton of work for the tuner.
Something I've noticed is, in REAPER, there's a plug in called transient controller. By turning the attack all the way down and turning the sustain all the way up, the consonants come in harsher and I feel like understandability is improved (not that Synth V needs much improvement here -- I'm trying to cover Wicked by Crusher, and some parts are quite fast), however this has some cons to it as well. Any breath or background noise on the end of the note is amplified like 10 dB. This can be helped by throwing a noise gate on, but I still feel like this creates a sense of "consonant squashing"
Does anyone know of other ways that consonants can be improved, especially for quicker-paced parts?
Hello! I'm a pre-med student. Clarify ko lang sana regarding the MPL system (esp in ASMPH). Bale magdedepend sa highest scorer ng batch niyo kung papasa ka or not? or magdedepend sa "fail rate"? I am actually confused about this huhu sana someone can explain thank you!
Say that you have the function
[;f(x,y) = 4x^2 + 5y^2;]
and you want to find its maxima and minima on the region
[;x^2 + y^2 \leq 1;]
however you can only use the gradients, and level curves. How would you go about doing this?

Workload: Virtualization Server (Proxmox): I'll likely run other VMs, but these are the big three that will likely account for most of the daily 24/7 usage.
Hello,
I'm just curious if anyone running a similar setup would be willing to share their fan curves. I've never set up a rackmount system, and it's been about 25 years or so since I set up a tower, so I'm looking for some points of reference to get started adjusting mine to where I want them.
I'd like to get the server as quiet as possible without thermal throttling in my environment, but I also don't want to run it near the components' max temp.
If you could include your curves along with some information about the environment where the server is located, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
I hate not having my alarms work everytime I play and having to change settings ive already changed 20 times.
Wondering how effective fence rep is on that annoying 20 minute cooldown, but I can't find any concrete numbers.
Normally, the best subscription price gets credits for slightly under $10 each with a 24 month subscription. Generally, the best deal is to get a desired book on KU, and then see if the audiobook is offered as an βadd onβ for $7.49 (many harem books are!).
Currently, Audible is offering 12 credits for $89.50; thatβs $7.50 per credit. With this deal, you can get 12 audiobooks for 1/2 the price of a $14.95 monthly subscription, and 25% less than a normal long-term subscription, or buying an additional three credits for $35.
The offer isnβt available to current accountsβ¦butβ¦.dust off one of your other credit cards and open a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th!) account to access this deal!
As Iβve said before: ultimately audiobook purchases will go the way of buying CDs and DVDsβ¦music and movies are monthly all-you-can-eat subscriptions; we simply donβt buy them individually anymore. Until the business model for audiobooks catches up to support the authors and narrators, weβre left with looking for the best prices for our entertainment. Authors charging $15-$20 per audiobook after leaving Audible are raking it in for now, but I wonder about their long-term viability if they burn bridges with distributors and fans.
For now, having to buy audiobooks individually, Iβm thrilled at having the price drop to $7.50 for Audibleβs entire catalog of books!
Alright so in just getting ready to buy this but I cant find the minimum curve anywhere so here I am. If its good for 031 or 036 then great if not well I shall have to keep looking. Its o gauge.
So, we're building a new addition to house -- a wide open living/kitchen/dining area. My s/o already has a tendency to blast TV volumes to better hear speech etc. Now that our main TV is going to be in such a bigger space and somewhat more distant from the couch, I don't want to have the whole space constantly bombarded with TV audio.
A close fix that I've done in previous situations was to have an Apple Homepod on the couch-side table and airplay audio to that -- that way the sound output is right by the couch. I'd like a better, invisible, less finicky solution for this new space.
So, if I were to use two in-wall sonos speakers for the front audio and two in-ceilings above the couch, is audio from those bound to permeate the entire space?
I'm actually hesitant to even put the front in-wall speakers in versus just the in-ceilings -- I feel like the in-ceilings will be more directed (just straight down). Thoughts?
Curve have recently changed the rules for their referral scheme. You need to make a minimum transaction of Β£5+ to receive the bonus (which will be paid within 3 days).
This means adding Curve to PayPal, Google Pay, etc won't trigger the bonus. Use Curve instead of your usual debit card when you buy something over Β£5 to receive the bonus.

if you're not already a member and fancy giving it try, there have been several ref links posted here recently for a Β£5 bonus :)
I've noticed a trend on Reddit. Whenever someone makes an observation about their environment, a quick answer is always provided. Or the observation is dismissed.
Like the Blue Lights in the clouds.
Look it up. Check Reddit. It's there. Now we have to ask why. And we also have to question the quick answers and dismissals that always follow. Are they innocent or are they part of an agenda to cover up an ever worsening biosphere? I don't have an answer, and I probably never will, but I do stress to do your own research and not blindly trust anyone that you donβt know, or donβt have a track record with.
Blue clouds. Beautiful, right? It's like cotton candy in the sky in this carnival of life. It's too bad we don't have some pink snow to go with it, right? Oh.
>/u/Regenerer
And today, a report of pink snow caused by algae and melting snow.
Language of confusion noted, too "might be a red flag" Nah, ya think?! I'll be on the lookout for an article saying "Why Pink Snow is Not a Red Flag" tomorrow haha.
Why not pink snow and blue clouds. Kaleidescape dreamscapes into neon nightmares until we join the androids dreaming of electric sheep.
Ahem. Ok. Back to the blue clouds. What are they? Why now? Have they always been there? Is Elmo actually the blue god of thunder?
No. But they'll probably blame him at some point.
So let's look into blue clouds.
>Such clouds appear about 50 miles (80 kilometers) above each Pole during its summer months. Yet unlike white water vapor clouds near the planet's surface, noctilucent clouds are electric blue in color, thanks to tiny crystals that preferentially scatter that color of light.

With the rising popularity of the measurements from audiosciencereview/Amir i see more and more people complaining about/being unhappy with gear because of "poor" measurements.
I like measurements but part of this development has me worried. I think a lot of people are not aware/familiar with the audibility of what is measured. For example the new JDS labs Atom has some great measurements and I see people saying they wished they would have bought it instead of the magni3/liquid spark whatever. And while it does measure better in most regards than those products does this make an audible difference? Personally i don't think so, the atom looks like a great piece of gear but I don't think it'll sound any better than a magni 3( based on the measurements form ASR).
If you want to buy an amp or dac based on measurements don't buy the best measuring piece of gear in your budget but look for a good enough measuring products with the features you need. -100dB THD vs -110dB THD is gonna make as much of a difference as a 10k USB cable.
Some resources if you're interested in the topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYTlN6wjcvQ the video is pretty long but also has some links to test files
https://www.audioholics.com/loudspeaker-design/audibility-of-distortion-at-bass/intermodulation-distortion is more focused on subwoofers but has a lot of general info which applies to other gear as well and measurements in general, there are 4 entries

I realize this post isn't very coherent but I hope it'll start some discussion on the issue and inform people.
TL;DR: measurements are nice but please consider the audibility of what's measured.
I was thinking about how I could solve the following problem:
Find the minimum distance between the curves of y = e^x and y = ln(x)
I can see how the segment of minimum length between them has to perpendicular to both curves, which means the value of their derivatives at those points has to be the same, but I don't know how to prove this.
Any ideas?
I need to come up with a company name thatβs about math and function/curve.
Please advise, punmasters.
(Mistake in the title: Should be "higher than")
At least on the Aorus 15G, the quiet fan curve is at about 25% (and switches off a lot of the time) while in custom, one can't go below a fixed 30%.
Come on now, that's just pathetic. It's annoying to have that constant on and off, I'd much rather set it to a fixed 25% (or 20%, hoping that it might get rid of the whistle). But 30% 24/7 while I'm working? That's not acceptable.
Also, in quiet mode, performance is unnecessarily forced to be ridiculously bad considering that temperatures are at about 55, even running prime95 with 2 threads. Granted, there are 90 degree spikes every few seconds but that only once again begs the question: What on earth are you doing?! (I have recently tried out another laptop with the same CPU and didn't see such weird behavior.)
I thought I'd be able to recommend this to some coworkers who also need new machines but... no way.
High school student here and I would really like some insight into this. Different sources give different views in this and I couldn't find a good enough answer.
I find I can hear mono at a lower db output and a similar stereo signal.
Is there any scientific evidence that backs this up or is this just a personal preference? Any studies on the audibility of similar mono and stereo signals?
