A list of puns related to "Manually coded language"
Basically what I mean is that on one side we already have English spoken form -> English signed form & what I want to know is if it's possible to have for example ASL (American Sign Language) signed form -> ASL spoken form...
Also note that I don't care if it's practical or not, my question is purely technical, so even if it's unrealistic as long as it's possible it's fine of course.

Iβm watching a documentary on audism (Iβm a hearing ASL 2 student) and they were talking about MCE. Iβve never heard of it before, but we have learned about SEE, and I was wondering, how are they different? Honestly, MCE is confusing me a lot.
Hello,
I am software developer mostly experienced in web/native and I was wondering why most games are coded in c++. Isn't it possible to build games in javascript/react/react native instead of c++ if they are web or mobile games? Why are most games coded in C++ or java? Just a random question from a noob developer :)
Edit: Thank you everyone who responded to my comment. I had to google 90% of the terms you guys were using but It really helped a lot. π
Thank you for the care message whoever that was. Top class.
Though I'd appreciate it if you took the time to read the whole thing, and I'd really recommend you to because I am discussing a more complex part of the intersection between kpop and societal issues, here's a Tldr because you guys really seem to hate reading longer form posts: kpop fandom spaces have a tendency to use terms like 'international', 'Western', 'American' fans, cultures, issues, histories as code when they're discussing very specific fans, cultures, issues, histories and just don't want to actually say who they're talking about. That's often because they're on about Black fans, in particular African American fans, and have found that this coding allows them to say really insensitive shit without the ability for Black fans to refute them because they frame the conversation as though it's in terms of the genuine issue that is American/Western-centrism.
International, American, Western fans, issues, cultures, etc. These are the staples of coded language in kpop fandom. To those of you who have a penchant for using coded language on here, abeg, stop being a coward. Say what you mean. Because you're only really on about specific BIPOC when you say that.
Ifans
"it's really curious how some i-fans want koreans to learn every single nuance about certain topics but can't or won't bother to do the same for Korean historical issues like this one."
American fans/American culture/American issues
"What's even weirder, is the fact they demand Koreans to know their history and their countries' issues but won't even bother to acknowledge theirs"
"When I was relatively new to kpop, I remember feeling bad about not knowing abt America's issues. These fans are the fucking epitome of delusional and have the audacity to think they are better than knetz. If anything, they are much worse than them"
Can those of you who share a similar sentiment to that of the above tell me what American issues we're expecting everyone to know and care about. Taxation? Immigration? Crises in the healthcare system? Biases in the curriculum and education system? Student debt? Failures in the welfare system? Affirmative action? Reproductive rights? Media bias? Which ones? Oh, you mean the ones. I seeeeeee.
Oh, and real quick...umm...what was Stop Asian Hate? Pardon my memory, but that was, in big part, a what again? Huh? Ahh, right, an Asian American movement. Okay. So fuck that too th
... keep reading on reddit β‘I feel itβs either Unity or Java but could also be C#. Any help would be appreciated!
Reddit investigated the report of a transphobic and racist comment.
https://imgur.com/gallery/kniqgql
And determined that it is not in violation of their policies on hate speech.
For context, they are talking about the rate of suicide among trans people, and someone trying to speak out against hate accused them of "working on that 48%," in other words, abusing trans people online and causing them to commit suicide.
The reply is
>"One can only an hero themselves.
Someone else does that its a murder and joggers seem to be all about murdering trains people."
In other words:
>"Someone can only suicide themself. If someone else does it, it's a murder, and n*****s seem to be all about murdering trans people."
It's just literally racist hate speech with like 3 letters changed, but apparently that's good enough to make admins scratch their heads and say "nah, it's fine." It doesn't even make a lot of sense as a reply to the prior comments, the second sentence of the comment exists only to get a reaction with its racism and transphobia. The first sentence argues that he can't be blamed for contributing to suicides by harassing trans people, because suicide is by definition killing yourself.
By the way, another comment in that same thread-- one making a racist comment about Asians being intelligent-- was removed after investigation. It was far less hateful but didn't use coded language.
Hello everyone,
I was reading up on different dating coaches theories and they outline how knowing multiple languages is seen as attractive. I wonder if it is universal attractive trait or if its primarily a part of the Anglosphere.
For instance, there are some countries where people speak two or three languages. I believe that there might be no, "Wow factor" from knowing those languages. Since everyone is already capable of. In contrast, maybe something like having your own car might be seen as cool since its not as accesible to everyone, while in America car ownership is more common.
Hi all! In a separate discussion, I saw some people discussing why some features are commonly coded in languages (such as plurality) while other hypothetically possible distinctions don't seem to ever be coded/lexicalized in natural languages (such as a distinction between drinking from a round container vs drinking from a square container). Theoretically, you can make up any distinction you want, and ask "why isn't this random distinction coded in natural languages?" But usually this won't be an interesting question, since we don't have a reason to expect such a distinction. However, I'm curious about whether you can think of any distinctions which you might expect to be coded (in natural languages), but aren't. (I thought this topic is interesting enough to deserve its own post, rather than being buried deep within the original post, hope that's okay!)
So I finally got an account, I hopped on the phone with HR asking questions about what their needs are. The lady brings up that they are a VERY culture oriented company. I'm like "ok cool what kind of culture". So she's like "people without crazy tattoos, shorter hair, can talk properly and make sure you do a video screening to make sure they fit into the "culture"." Is this coded language are these people fucking racist? 12k isn't a small amount of fees and I'm a person of color and not in the best shape financially so I could really use this money but damn working for racists would eat butt.
Im looking to creating some stuff in the metaverse and i was wondering what language is it normally coded with? Is it unity 3d?
It's a fairly contentious question in polyam circles as to whether you should include that you're polyamorous or ENM in your dating app profile. If you're not going to though, is there coded language that you can use that achieves the same end?
This question occurred to me earlier today as I was swiping and getting turned off by the people who weren't outright saying they were monogamous but were nevertheless using coded language to announce that they were looking for monogamous Relationship Escalator style connections (phrases as subtle as "serious long term only" to "looking for a reason to get off this app" and "looking for my forever guy" etc)
What do we think coded language might look like that says you're polyam without outright declaring it?
Iβm a little surprised how literally people are taking all of the messaging and counter-messaging going on by Morey and Olshey. Hereβs how Iβm interpreting this battle:
I had to re-type this because the thread kept getting removed. I think it was due to my relentless capslock and bold text in some parts. Mods, I hope this better.
I did a quick search on this subreddit to see if I missed any threads covering the recent Epstein-related news concerning Jes Staley (former Chief Exec @ Barclays), his relationship to Jeffrey Epstein, and the 1,200 email correspondence between him and Epstein sent between the years of 2008-2012, but didn't seem to find anything on here about it. So, I figured I'd effortpost about it here. Enjoy & discuss.
Source Article:
>"Jes Staley reportedly exchanged 1,200 emails with Jeffrey Epstein in four years"
Some emails between ex-Barclays boss and Epstein used unexplained phrases such as βsnow whiteβ, FT reports
The article is pretty interesting. Although it doesn't mention it in the headline (go figure), the relationship between Staley and Epstein seemed quite close. Staley knew Epstein since 2000, but most importantly is that he remained friends with him after his arrest in 2007, visited him in Florida AFTER he was convicted and "serving his sentence" - aka enjoying his work-release punishment where he was allowed to roam free all day only to return to jail at night. Just to rehash, he was convicted in 2008 of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute. His "work-release" punishment lasted 13 months. This was a particular lenient punishment which came to be known as the "Sweetheart Deal" and was brokered by Alexander Acosta...the same guy who notably stated that he did so because he had been ordered by higher government officials, who told him that Epstein was an individual of importance to the government. [source]
Okay, context for the noobs completed: back to the emails!
I'll cut right to the chase. Check this segment of the above article here:
>The former Barclays chief executive Jes Staley reportedly exchanged 1,200 emails with disgraced financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein over four years, some of which featured unexplained terms such as "Snow White"
And while many of the email
Hot take: Especially after I shave, I've often gotten fetishizers (both white and non-Asian) tell me that they love my "smooth skin," sometimes even calling it out specifically as a reason why they like Asians. (ew) I'm actually hairier than the average Asian, which some yt guys I previously would hook up would call out as a disappointment compared to the other guys they had fucked. (gross)
Given this is the case, then the obsession "guys with hairy chests" has to also be a racialized trait coded for the beauty standards of white guys or white-passing POCs.
Let's be real, often the type of hairy guy they're actually talking about is some white muscular gaybrosgonemild dude (whether white, white Latinx, or potentially Middle Eastern), rather than, say, a hairy Black guy who has Black curly hair or a hairy Desi guy or a hairy Asian guy (who I'm sure most of them assume don't even exist).
It's 100% coded language and an example of racial featurism, just like saying that you're into "lighter eyes" or a "lighter hair" or "chiseled jawline" or "guy next door" (lol they mean next door as in Wichita, not the Bronx)
Well? discuss lol
I can understand an individual device or app having one specific language, but how come the same site, game, program, or whatever, be having different parts be coded in like Java, C, and Python "at the same time," and work out fine?
For instance, I was once looking through some guy who said he couldn't yet make a compability patch for his mod (for a game) because his mod is written in C iirc, and the other mod which was having compability issues apparently had some parts in C#, and he didn't know much about that area, so like, what? How come two mods, written in different languages even, work on a game which is probably written on another different language as well?
Is there some kind of universal translator that makes all languages understand eachother or something?
For some reason it wonβt work through settings, gives errors and the download wonβt start.
When I search how to install language pack manually online results are all about the Settings, thatβs obvious and not what I would like to do.
I would like a proper MANUAL way to install a language pack, since the Settings are completely broken.
Iβm very sure itβs either Java or Unity but some folks mentioned it could also be made in C# or C.
