Doesn't have to only be new watches. So far I'm at 86, and I'm desperately hoping to bump that number way up once the semester's over.
I was expecting a dumb fun Statham action movie. But man does it suck. Itโs so all over the place plot wise, the amount of flashbacks and time jumps you need a fucking map to follow this thing. The screenplay and performances are so bad it feels like they just filmed the first run through of rehearsals. Josh Hartnett (remember him?) is so hilariously bad. Statham barley gets out of first gear, even he can tell this is beneath him. But itโs so stupid it would make a killer episode.
Also, โAND SCOTT EASTWOODโ is the most unintentionally hilarious credit of all time. Never has an โAndโ been less deserved.
So, don't get me wrong I enjoyed this film. It's an average/enjoyable action flick.
But it only exists to set up Rainbow 6, a franchise-able series of films.
Had this been a series, based on the original story. With John's two missions personal and government. We would have had a far better insight of the man. But making this happen in a film just isn't possible, so I understand the shortcuts taken.
But while I can see where they are planning to take this from the mid-credit. John's demand to present Rainbow to the President!
He's just a disavowed and presumed dead SEAL. They at no point made the case for how it would be able to demand that level of access to a character (who is not Jack) and who plays not a single part in the film.
It's a shortcut to a character, that would have been far better served by a series. Clark's position as Rainbow 6 is earned by action, not blackmail.
