A list of puns related to "Lolita (term)"
I fell in love with how Nabokov wrote Lolita. But it also simultaneously made me hate myself for enjoying it. Any similar books sans the pedophilia?
Here is the doc: A lengthy Guide on How to differentiate between Qi,Wa and Han Lolita
(I recommend looking at this in the google docs app or on an ipad, since the pictures are very blurry + the format is messy if you look at it otherwise!)
The topics that are covered in this are:
1.foreword (short explanation on sinosphere and why there some similar features in traditional attire)
2.east asian substyles (description of each substyle with examples pictures and text for both original traditional attire and lolita dress versions)
3.how to actually tell the difference (with text, small sketches drawn by me,examples and highlighted pictures for easier understanding)
Another fanart of Vex. I feel like they missed the opportunity to make her a lolita-themed skin. Anyways, hope you like it!
Heβs a sadistic sick SOB who refuses to believe he did anything wrong and in his version of events Lo had a crush on him and instigated the relationship and was happy to see him when he picked her up. Do you think Lo ever did have a crush on him/kissed him or did he make that up or do you think he just forced everything?
Also do you think more happened with Charlotte bc in her note he finds she talks about moving her and Lo out of state away from him.
When I was in High School, (about 12-15 years ago now) I used to scour the internet for lolita-based fashion, but in the early 2000's online shopping like we have now was not available. I was also a teenager, and my Mom did not approve of the style. Now that I'm a full-grown adult, and I have a stable, well-paying job, I have been experimenting with different fashion styles like cottagecore. I've also been really leaning into my love of cute things (and pink, which surprise! I viciously hated as a child) but I'm concerned that I may look or be too old for lolita. Especially, sweet lolita. Which is what I've always wanted to wear. On one hand, I really want to finally be able to dress like this, but on the other I'm a little scared. I've always been one to push the envelope when it comes to fashion regardless. So it's not really about that. I think really, what I'm afraid of is ageism.
EDIT: I'll keep responding to the comments I receive. Thank you all so much for reaching out and talking with me. Also, I did go on youtube to look up videos and found this as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IA46KclXWM
I thought if there happened to be anyone else who came across this in the future with similar concerns or worries that it, along with your wonderful words, would help them. If you all have any videos or anything else you'd like to share then please feel free.
The Rittenhouse trial was perfect media fodder for 2021. Left and right, black and white (kind of), but the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell doesn't split party lines. Neither the left nor the right support trafficking girls for sexual exploitation by the billionaire class. However, the people alleged to have used Epstein's services are the most wealthy and powerful in the world, and lean both left and right. Surely that fact should make it extremely high on the news cycle and from there trending number one on socials. Whilst Twitter was used to megaphone opinions based on wrong information on the daily for the Rittenhouse case, for this trial, Twitter shut down an account that only gave updates on the trial from various source. It had 325 000 subs.
So what is the reason for this fairly low level media interest in this trial comparatively, and Twitter trying to lower it further? Its failure to ignite polemics or that too many investors in mainstream and social media also rode the Lolita Express and they really want you to to know there's nothing to see here.
Soooo I finished Lolita, and I gotta say... it's easily a 7 or 8 out of 10 (it emotionally fucked me up), buuuuut I don't understand how people can possibly misconstrue this book. Humbert Humbert was an egotistical, manipulative asshole, and I just don't understand how he can draw in real life people with just some fancy words. Apparently people have to constantly remind themselves that he's a pedophile/rapist. I, alternatively, had to constantly remind myself that he's supposed to be charming. Literally everything he said was just to cover up what he did with pretty wording and dry wit... Am... Am I reading this right? Like did I didn't miss anything right?
ALSO, I was really not prepared for Lolitas ending. It kinda messed me up. Anybody got anything to say that'll cheer me up?
Does anyone else follow the latest BookTok BookTube BookPorn BookCuck BooksInMyButthole trend that says liking certain books is a red flag and that people who like those books should be avoided at all cost?
I watched two tiktok videos, now I'm convinced I should be alerting the authorities anytime I see suspicious, shady individuals, reading shady "Red Flag" literature.
I have the FBI and CIA on speed dial for instances of people not reading Sanderson or Stephen King.
Should I steer clear of people who read certain books (so I can have another excuse as to why I haven't felt the touch of a woman in 8 years, since that time my cousin accidentally brushed against my dong at Thanksgiving) ??
How has this trend I just heard about two seconds ago effected you personally? Have you spotted any of these unsavory domestic terrorists-in-the-making?
I'm really curious about this. For me, people at my place usually react quite positively. But i think lolita fashion still seems kinda odd to them. In the most recent event that i wore lolita in public (for a meetup), some people asked to take pictures with us.
Lolita is an expensive hobby, as you've no doubt noticed by now. If you're trying to save money and like actually getting what you thought you were buying, it's really worth taking the time to learn how to use a Taobao shopping service and buying your Chinese-brand garments directly from the manufacturers. It's not particularly user-friendly and can be time-consuming, so I'd recommend looking up a tutorial on how to do it if you are unfamiliar. I promise it's worth the trouble.
There are a lot of advantages to using a shopping service, including:
Wow. Just wow.
So that was an instruction manual, right?
i'll accept 20k or above in terms of diamonds.
for items, i'm looking for the goth lolita skirt (will add) or the december's dream sleeves/skirt/shoes (again, will add for skirt/shoes).
comment offers!
When I was about 8 I discovered jfashion for the first time and Iβve always loved looking at Japanese street style magazines, but I never committed to jfashion. I became obsessed with vintage fashion and collected old dresses until I found myself obsessing over 1950s silhouettes with big puffy skirt. I then found that I could marry my love of jfashion and vintage silhouettes and became a Lolita!! Does anyone else have a similar story?? I feel it may be a pipeline !
Alrighty this is a weird one but I LOVE clowns and clown core so much but I also love lolita and have multiple dresses and full cords. I have been thinking about mixing the two but I'm too scared of what others will think. I know part of lolita is expressing yourself but I'm scared how it will go.
