A list of puns related to "Livedo"
Hi all ---
I was recently diagnosed with lupus and have consistently had livedo reticularis and prominent Bier's spots on my arms and legs (and at times on my chest) 24/7. My question is -- does it ever go away? I've only been on Plaquenil for about 2 months now but I have had these skin issues every day and I am wondering if this is going to be the new norm for me.
In addition, I've been struggling with some sort of dermatitis on my face and hormonal acne. Does anyone else? If so, any suggestions? I see my PCP on Friday and I am going to ask for a derm referral for the face dryness/acne. Thx
Hi all! I noticed some strange discoloration in my feet and toes, so my doctor did a lot of lab work and my results came back with higher than normal antiphospholipid antibodies.
I donβt have any other symptoms other than fatigue, which may be unrelated. Iβm not sure. My doctor was at first concerned with how my feet looked, but they have cleared up a little bit recently but not completely and still have some dark red and purple marks on some of the toes. They are also quite susceptible to cold.
I have started the daily aspirin regimen, but Iβm wondering if thereβs anything else I need to watch out for. Iβm not completely sure what the cause of this is. I am a 24-year-old male and Iβm just seeking some advice.
Thanks!
Does anyone else get mottled skinβcircular red blotchesβwhen in the sun? I get it all over my stomach and thighs whenever my skin is exposed to the sun. Doesnβt itch at all. It doesnβt go away until I am out of the sun.
41 caucasian female, 5'5, 170lbs, duration: 3years, location: upper thighs. Medical history: I have either lupus or mixed connective tissue disease, they can't seem to decide. It was lupus for sure for 10 years, then suddenly my rheumatologist started coding it as MCTD. I take Plaquenil 400mgs/day, trazadone 150mgs/night, levothyroxine 88mcg/day.
This "zombie skin" https://imgur.com/dX64u7H showed up about 3 years ago. Ultimately my rheumatologist decided it was livedo reticularis. It gets darker brown to lighter red at random but it has been constant for 3 years. Initially they told me it was nothing to worry about and it would eventually go away, but when it became obvious it was going to stick around, they just shrugged and said it wasn't harmful.
My questions are: It looks awful, I can't imagine it's being caused by anything good...is it really harmless and I shouldn't be concerned?
Is there anything I can do to make it go away? I can't wear a bathing suit or shorts anymore, people look at me like I'm carrying some terrible disease and might give it to them.

Sorry for the quality of photo, my camera is terrible. The photo above shows how my skin looks like when I'm warm, when I get even slightly colder it looks more like this (not mine): https://i.pinimg.com/originals/41/f0/30/41f0309018b84fb9f0c0050300445fef.jpg
I've noticed 3 months ago that my skin, especially on hands and arms gets very weird. From googling I found out it's called livedo reticularis, this reddish net pattern. It's extremely visible when it's cold or I'm stressed. It never really goes away, maaybe when I'm extremely warm, in bed under covers.
Additional symptoms that may or may not be related: my hands get all weird when I moving or it's getting warm, even when I just casually walk from bus to home. They get very red, especially from knuckles up, and palms. It goes away after a while. The same happens with my toes. My nails get blue color when the temperature is changing, for example under the shower or if I go outside (even if it's not really cold outside, but colder than in home). I sometimes get red rash on my chest, especially after drinking alcohol. No tingling, no pain, no itching.
I went to the doctor few days ago, he seems clueless, told me to do basic blood morphology for now. I will do it on Monday, do you suggest running some more tests when I'm at it? Any theories what could it be?
I have livedo reticularis as a constant state, itβs been that way since I started showing symptoms of both lupus and POTS, and within a few months was diagnosed with both. As I understand it is not uncommon with either condition.
One of the things that caught my attention early on was that when I was given prednisone for migraine cycles (20mg 3x daily), the funny coloring on my legs would clear up immediately. Part of why I insisted a referral to a specialist from my PCP. Now Iβm on my third round of prednisone in the last 12mo, and every time, I have nice even toned normal colored legs/thighs/stomach/arms/lips again. Not only do they look nice, but Iβm sure itβs way healthier to have adequate bloodflow and oxygen to the surface of my entire body. It really concerns me what is going on inside my blood vessels and the fact that prednisone clears inflammatory responses, and this is an indication of an inflammatory response in my entire bodyβs circulation system which is kind of a big deal. and it was so very nice to not feel ice cold all day...
Iβve mentioned it to both my rheumatologist, cardiologist and my neurologist. They each have said, almost verbatim, yeah that happens. We donβt know why.
Is there some other doctor I can request who would further investigate what the heck is going on with my vascular system? Are there symptoms of vascular lupus- is that a thing? Is there some testing I could request?
Hi r/gamedev,
I just built LiveDo over the last couple of days and I thought it might be interesting to check out for my fellow gamedevs. It's a real-time Web app for sharing what you're getting done with your players / community.
If you're building a game, your players are probably asking what's going on all the time and when you'll be releasing this or that new feature/campaign/whatever. That's my case anyway and since giving out guestimated release dates all the time is risky at best, I always say "when it's done".
So I built LiveDo to be able to better share how things are progressing and let people interact by liking and replying to to-do items. It's built on Twitter so that people don't have to create yet another account just for this.

I'd love to hear what you guys think and what you think is missing (there's quite a bit I already want to add).
Also feel free to share your profile links in the comments so that we can keep tabs on one another! Mine is http://livedo.sparklinlabs.com/elisee
The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.
Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.
The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:
"What's sarong with that?"
I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).
His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.
--Edit-- I appreciate the condolences. I'm doing well and the worst is behind me and my family. But thanks :)
--Edit-- Massive thanks for all the awards and kind words. And the puns! Love 'em.
I would have a daughter
But Bill kept the Windows
True story; it even happened last night. My 5-year-old son walks up behind me and out of the blue says, "hey."
I turn to him and say, "yeah, kiddo? What's up?"
He responds, "it's dead grass."
I'm really confused and trying to figure out what's wrong and what he wants from me. "What? There's dead grass? What's wrong with that?"
.
.
.
He says, totally straight-faced, "hay is dead grass," and runs off.
You officially hit rock bottom
No it doesn't.
And then you will all be sorry.
Now itβs syncing.
He replied, "Well, stop going to those places then!"
I will find you. You have my Word.
She said how do you know he was headed to work?
βthank you for your cervix.β
...sails are going through the roof.
Made me smile
