Britain's reason for the change:

There is no change in the recommendation from JCVI (their NACI) and this seems to be a political decision.

Ontario's current implementation:
>The recommended interval for [all those in line for a booster] is ≥6 months (168 days) after the second dose.
Note 168 days is actually shorter than 6 months by 2 weeks. If the booking engine does allow 3rd shot appointments at 168 days, this will increase dramatically the number of people eligible to be fully protected before Christmas.
For example: In Ottawa, the number of people would be doubled. On May 31 only 6% of those 12+ were fully vaccinated. Two weeks later on June 14 it was 14%. By following just 24 weeks vs 26 weeks, Ottawa could see 8% more of the 12+ with boosters by Christmas. And since, in early June it was mostly those 60+ who were eligible for second shots, that shortening of the delay between fully vaccinated and booster shots targets those with the worst outcomes from breakthrough infections.

So I was in Redditch shopping the other day and someone was walking round with headphones on loudly belting out renditions of Seasons Of Love/My Heart Will Go On etc. He does laps of the shopping centre and apparently security just tolerate him because he doesn't really hurt or disturb anyone.
There's also Matrix Guy around here who wears a long coat and glasses and narrates his shopping with great fervour and enthusiasm as he does it. THERE'S the bread! That's what I wanted.
