A list of puns related to "Lists of universities and colleges by country"
He studied Electrical Engineering in a university in Japan under a scholarship from his home country. In his 3rd year, due to failing some papers, the scholarship body discontinued his living stipends. In the 5th year he retook a paper twice and couldn't renew his student visa, and had to come back. His course credits are valid for 2 years before it will be deemed obsolete. He now has 2 options. Wait 1 year for the subject that he failed to be re-opened and return to Japan and finish his undergrad, or transfer credit at a university in his home country. Also note that he is not very passionate in Electrical Engineering.
Now he is offered a data processing analyst role at a Japanese startup in the Middle East, they value his electrical engineering background (and his Japanese language proficiency) more than the undergrad certificate. Salary is good, great opportunity to learn, job prospect is bright, a lot of potential for growth and advancement as it is in emerging tech.
My personal opinion is he seems interested in this field, so I encourage him to take up the offer. One way is he could work and transfer the course credits from Japan to a university in the Middle East and study part time/weekend classes. Or perhaps take up a completely different field like Data Science or Business Admin, or whatever that interests him (also part time/weekend), which could come later.
Please share your thoughts. Any loophole? Should he put degree above career? Is there such thing as a part-time/weekend classes undergrad program for electrical engineering? Any other concern? Thank you!
