I am primarily a console gamer, and only know laptops. I have only recently been trying to better understand PC architecture - and even that only from the perspective of a gamer and what I will need when I eventually buy a "real pc". So, I just feel a bit out of my depth here.
My job recently tasked me with finding an office PC for the finance team. They work with a few databases, messing around with documents, some remote desktop work, and that's really it. But I am having trouble figuring out how low we should go, and want something that is relatively future-proof (for five to ten years). Our needs wont really change, but I want it to keep up with modern routers, browsers, operating systems, Office 365, etc.
So, here's what I think we need, but please correct me if something jumps out at you:
- 512gb SSD would be more than enough (and a 256gb would even cut it).
- Maybe a new-ish i5, but honestly a current i3 could work. (Thoughts?)
- A bunch of regular ol' usb ports. Nothin here is new or wireless except for the internet.
- I doubt we need even 12gb RAM, but I am thinking 16gb just because it's sort of the industry benchmark now and affordable.
- Refresh rate is a none issue, and even resolution is kind of meh. They're probably using a 1080p 60hz 27 in. screen. They'll maybe one day they'll jump to a 1440p 32 in., but I kind of doubt it.
- Compatible with Windows 11. I've heard Windows 11 is in pretty rough shape right now. I don't know if those issues would even really affect us with what we're doing, but regardless I assume we will want to update to it at the very least once Windows 10 support ends. (thoughts?)

I know at one point they were looking at Tips and Tricks too. I found a tip on a post that was helpful for closing the hood/front trunk. But you have to search all posts to try and find these little nuggets of wisdom.
Would be nice to keep a running compilation of issues found, maybe by model too that can be easily found and allow others to post to it to keep it updated. just a thought if either of these two could be set up separately (issues & tips/tricks)

I feel like I have truly graduated from beginner danmei reader because I now keep track of what I've read, reading and plan to read lol.

There's also a lengthy review of each book if you're keen to know my tastes. I've scored my books on their quality in romance, writing, plot and smut, where smut ranks the least important but is still very necessary. I've only read popular books so far, so if you're new and you're stuck choosing your next read, come take a look! It's not a long list by any means, but it'll cover most of those that have been discussed countless times in this sub. ^^
My preference is angst with plenty of pining, and will be piqued by slightly mature themes. If you have recommendations, please fire them away!

Or Pterosaurs, Plesiosaurs, etc? Since dinosaurs attract such a following hopefully a hobbyist has done such a thing. It seems like it would exist somewhere. Or maybe an academic has compiled a massive list somewhere. With all the slightly different ways to classify dinosaurs, it would be nice if someone had already chosen a scheme for convenience to construct a spreadsheet or family tree.
Especially with people doing drawings this month, I think this would be a very good resource if shared.
I am mainly selling credit spreads as a means of weekly income. On avg 9 DTE. For this reason, stocks with weekly options are very interesting to me. I have created this list for myself, but want to share it with you in case anyone here is in a similar boat as I am.
You can import this list to TradingView as a watchlist run screens on it etc. The way I do it is I look for mean reversion signals so having this list is great since it is very specific for my needs and I don't need to go thru the annoyance of finding a great setup just to see that it either does not have options altogether or only does regular options.

Pros:
- Blind spot camera!!!
- Amazing, something I have been asking for since I got the car
- Customized controls
- I personally think that these are awesome and does not take up space for the seat heaters as there is obviously space on both sides. I think in the future they should add a few more slots and allow you to have buttons for manually adjusting seat heaters and defrosters
- As someone who uses the energy & messages apps a lot, I am pretty sure this saves me taps
- If you are so mad about the recently used app, you can just open an app in the menu and then it will be there until you open something else up
- Tik Tok
- Gen-Z owner here, definitely going to use this when waiting in the car to pick someone up
- Navigation update
- Adding stops and bypassing chargers while staying on the same trip just got easier
Cons:
- Losing the cards
- I do not understand why they did this, I loved being able to quickly check my tire pressure and trip details
- Automatic seat heat heaters
- Everyone is so quick to blame the customized controls for losing the seat heater buttons on the home screen, but I am guessing it is the auto seat heaters that did it as it would be logistically difficult to have the controls in a small button
- I found the auto seat heaters to be nice some of the time, but not all the time and because it is now behind a menu, there is no way it saves me taps
- I keep this on normally because it is nicer than adjusting it manually, but that is only the case because it is behind a menu
- This is another example of problems with a California car company, no way this would fly in Michigan or Germany
What I would change:
- Give two more slots for customized apps and add the ability to add manual seat heater adjustments and defrosters.
- I don’t understand what is preventing them from doing this, would be logistically weird with the auto seat heater, but they can figure it out, maybe have 3 seat heating modes and then a 4th that is auto mode
- Adding the cards back
- Maybe it was the addition of the blind spot camera or the fact that some customers could not figure it out, but this was really nice to have
All in all, having the energy and messages apps right there definitely saves me taps, so that and the blind spot camera easily make me think this update makes the car safer, counter to the popular opinion on here. Can it be better? Yes, but every single software version has had room for improvement.

I subscribe to both Magoosh and Gregmat, but have been focusing on GregMat for vocab. I've read on here Magoosh basic can be a good addition to GregMat for vocab, so wanting to learn those as well.
Would really like to get the Magoosh basic words into a spreadsheet so that I can run an equation and get rid of any duplicates from GregMat.
Anyone already do this and want to help a girl out? Or at least have the basic Magoosh words in a spreadsheet?

I send out a Google form quiz to a group of people every week, and I’d like to create some sort of spreadsheet/system I can use to keep track of how many quizzes each person has submitted overall since not everyone submits it every week. My end goal is to not have to manually count the number of quizzes for each person. I have a list of names of the people who submit a quiz for each individual week, if that helps.
It seems like a simple objective but I’m not sure where or how to start.

Condition: The cards I have for trade come from packs, local and online purchases and trades. Since arriving in my care they have been kept in sleeves and top-loaders. If we trade I will send you a closer picture of your cards.
Shipping: All cards will be mailed with sleeve and top-loader (up to two cards per top-loader). I seal the top-loader with tape so the card won't slide out in transit and attach it to thin cardboard within an envelope. Smaller trades will be mailed same or next day with a regular postage stamp. Larger trades (that require 2+ top-loaders) will be mailed from the post-office with either non-machinable stamps, or as a package with tracking. EDIT: I'll be bringing trades to the post office on Monday.

Heya, i've just rejoined the game after a like a few years of not playing and was thinking about the spreadsheets i had.. it seems like their API got fucked and i honestly can't remember how all this stuff works so i was wondering if there are some interesting spreadsheets that i should know of coming back into the game.. or IIRC there was a program for ISK making? Dunno... I was thinking about getting into mining/processing/crafting/trading. I made one before that automatically calculated ISK/h based on my ship/miners/settings etc. and showed me which ore to mine would be the most efficient... I just don't wanna crawl around with only like 2mil an hour or something, it feels really bad for the time invested.
