A list of puns related to "List of generation II Pokémon"
Hello travelers!
This is a pdf infographic which consists of best Pokémon by type across Generations 1-4, including their stats, max cp, best movesets (or best possible movesets for Generation 4 Pokémon). There are also top two tiers for each type separated into two periods, explained in more details in this post. Lists by type include some weaker Pokémon as well, which are there for comparison, or because new players might find information about them helpful. At the end of pdf file, there is a list of all the candies worth saving for Generation 4, classified into tiers (based on my own understanding of what will be relevant when Gen 4 gets introduced).
I am sorry for not including an image format, but because of the amount of details, images looks terribly blurry on mobile phones, so I decided to go only with the pdf format.
Because I wanted to have a look into the future, but not into a very far future. Taking into consideration all the current generations and only the very next generation (which might be released at the end of 2018 or so) seemed like a sweet spot for preparing and knowing what lies right ahead of us. Also, Generation 4, unlike Generation 5, includes tons of evolutions for existing Pokémon in the first three generations, so this will give us a better idea of which candies we can obtain right now are worth saving the most.
In my view, Rhyhorn, Swinub, Tangela and Togepi candies will have the most value when Gen

So I know which ones to go after during the upcoming event
I’m just trying to find out which Pokémon are impossible to get at this time without looking up every single missing number in my Pokédex. Every search result keeps bringing up results from over a year ago.
Thanks in advance!

Generation II disallows the release of Pokémon knowing certain HM moves (such as Surf) to prevent the player becoming trapped in an area that requires the use of that move (like Mossdeep City, which is surrounded by water). Thus, teaching a Pokémon Surf guarantees that it will never be released.
Note that we could still release the Admiral who knew Cut since that is not considered a "critical" HM move.
All I want to know is if there is a Feebas / Milotic that I can get. If it's toward the end of the game I will be salty. 😑
As my pokédex is nearing completion, I’ve started thinking of Generation II, the defining generation of pokémon during my childhood (I’ve played hundreds of hours of Gold/Silver!).
I think it’s worth to talk about what kind of changes the introduction of a new set of pokémon could/would make on the game.
Below I listed new mechanics introduced by Generation II, mostly centered around specific ways to trigger evolutions and evolution branches.
We will get previous forms of many Gen I pokémon:
It might be possible to just find them in the wild and evolve with a simple button press but maybe they could be a result of a new breeding mechanic?
Although I can see how it could complicate existing incubator/egg mechanic giving us adult pokémon not their baby forms.
In Generation I we only had one evolution branch which was Eevee → Jolteon / Flareon / Vaporeon but we could choose one of each by naming them properly. Outside that easter egg hidden mechanic, Eevee evolutions are random.
In Generation II we have branches all over, which are based on movesets, certain stones, stats or even the time of day.
I think items won’t be introduced into Pokémon Go (Clefairy evolves into Clefable with a press of a button not through Moon Stone) but it gets trickier for one example of a branched evolution tree:
I think stones would complicate the gameplay so Bellossom would probably become an RNG outcome, maybe even rarer than Vileplume.
Tyrogue can evolve into Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan or Hitmontop depending on how attack and defense work for him.
This could be solved by checking IV stats making it important to hold onto specific Tyrogues to evolve new Hitmontop. Or Niantic could go the easy way and just make it random like Eevees too.
Eevee can now also evolve into Espeon and Umbreon if it has a high friendship stat which doesn’t

Ok I think we can all agree that the best Pokémon games come from the Gen 1-5 range. But which do you think is the best? Personally while Gen-4 was my first game, I’ve grown to love and appreciate Gen-5 as not only a masterpiece in Pokémon games, but in games in general. It’s story is the best in Pokémon without a doubt and it’s character progression, writing, and central idea of conflicting ideas, all make this game something to remember. And the soundtrack…the soundtrack…I’ve listened to the soft piano keys of the games theme “Emotion” over and over, it’s all the best Pokémon has had with appropriate emotional keys and impactful moments. And while the graphics aren’t like any professional game there’s something so charming about the pixelated sprites and gorgeous use of 2d technology to create a 3d environment in 2d that just blows me away every-time I cross a bridge or look over a vast landscape. A perfect Gen and I’m so glad people have grown to realize this after its chaotic release.

So, whether or not you believe the truthfulness of "Mr. XY's" purportedly leaked information, I took the liberty of comparing the newly released list of Gen VI Pokémon names and compared it to the post detailing new Pokémon appearances. (Please refer to the 6th and 7th paragraph of the second link.) To my inspection, the elemental typing and released names of the new Pokemon match the leaked descriptions to a T. The incredible amount of cohesion and consistency between Mr. XY's post convinces me more and more that he has legitimate information. Regardless of whether you believe him or not, please take a moment to look at my list.
If you'd like, I'd be more than happy to take the time to explain any name origins or inspirations, since I think I've got them all pretty well figured. Also, I can assure you that these names are clever. If this is all a hoax, then it's a damn good one. Now, the list:

First off, I'm hyped that Pokémon is in the top 50. It kinda feels as though the franchise has lost all relevance over the past few years, even with Pokémon Go bringing things back a bit
Obv it's all subjective, and I get the appeal of Yellow as a complete Gen 1 experience. But if they want to rate these kinds of games on their importance to certain franchises, rather than actually how good they were (as a lot of these lists tend to do), then, for me, Gold and Silver should have been there instead
Following up from the illustrious first generation, which took the entire world by storm and changed consumer merchandising forever, Gold and Silver could have been a potentially fatal banana skin for the franchise - but it wasn't. This was the 'difficult second album' that was even better than the first
If it had flopped, Pokémon as a phenomenon could (and maybe would) have died then and there. But Gold and Silver introduced so many now-essential concepts to the franchise that it was almost like a new franchise. Breeding and genders, time and time-based events, hold items, two new types, SHINY POKEMON
Gen 1, for all its game-changing-ness, was badly coded and, by comparison, quite bare in terms of features, though it was by no means boring
I know a lot of people will also say 'well Gen 3 was the best tbh', or 'actually Black and White 2, or even HGSS were the peak of the franchise' (and I'd agree with the latter), but for sheer importance and the experience itself, I think Gen 2 was way better than the first Gen. I mean, you get to battle the protagonist from the previous game at the end, how is that not a great moment in gaming history?
I dunno, maybe I'm just bumhurt that only Yellow features in this list, I'd have loved both to fly the flag for Pokémon here. Other Gens have their perks too and I'd love to hear your impassioned speeches for/against any of the Pokémon games here :)
Thanks for reading!
Hear me out — I know not everyone is a Pokémon fan here, and I know some older millennials didn’t experience the Pokémon craze as young kids. This is a thought I had about one way of distinguishing between millennials and Gen Z, not a way of defining all millennials.
Many millennials remember living through the original Pokémon craze and have a strong connection to those game releases and the anime. Gen Z kids grew up with the later games in the late 2000s or early 2010s, and not only do they have less of a connection to the original stuff, they tend to mock people who do, calling them “Gen Wunners” (of course it’s not only Gen Z people who make fun of that circlejerk; I’m sure some millennial fans feel the same way).
I thought about this recently because I saw a post asking about people’s favorite music from the Pokémon games. I was shocked not to see a single piece of music from the original games in dozens of top comments with hundreds of upvotes. Not only is the Pallet Town theme one of the most nostalgic bits of music for me from the games, it’s one of the most nostalgic things I can think of, period. I’m not saying this should have been the top comment, but I was surprised not to see it anywhere at all in the discussion.
The title says it all. But I am also curious which game was the first you played/owned.
The first Pokémon game I've ever played was Diamond. But it wasn't the first I owned. Pokémon SoulSilver was the first Pokémon game I could call my own. Until today SoulSilver is not only my favorite Pokémon game but one of my favorite games as well!
If you started with Gen 7 or even 8, comment below
