A few weeks ago, Uber got shit for Kalanick's joining Trump's advisory council.
But my real question, is, why was that shocking? Why do progressives think Uber is any sort of company that upholds progressive values?
We've seen Uber break laws in the United States and abroad. We've seen them pay sub-minimum wage wages to their drivers, and actively cheat their drivers out of employment status (ie, minimum wage, vacation and health benefits).
Now we've seen how they treat women.
How did Uber get a reputation as any sort of progressive forward thinking company?
Why aren't progressive media sites and feminist media sites examining Uber more closely. On an intersectional scale of 0 to 10, Uber is about a 9 in terms of mistreating the poor, women, and people of color.
I was reading a good article about white privilege in feminism, most of which was clear to me. However, the article criticized Patricua Arquette for her Oscar speech and Emma Watson for her leadership in Him for Her, saying they are purporting to speak for women of color. Would this issue be solved by their articulating issues faced by women of color, or would that make the problem worse? What's the best resource for a white women who wants to speak up for what she considers to be feminist issues?

Were there any parallels drawn between feminism and the civil rights movement at the time?
Were there any women who were part of the feminist movement who opposed the civil rights movement and vice versa?

So I'm out of a brigading wrap-up because the mods have started to enforce their anti-brigading rules. Yay! I decided to instead analyze the use of MRA's favorite word to call women: cunt. Now, MRAs claim they are not misogynistic and that they don't hate women but they looooooooove to call women slurs. Just fucking love it. This is every instance I could find in the past week of them calling a woman/feminist a cunt and almost all of them are upvoted to positive karma:

I have many feminist friends (I consider myself a feminist as well) who will tell me that I’m “kink shaming” and “anti feminist” for expressing the idea that kinks are all rooted in harmful misogynistic principles.
I’ve been pretty adamant that I have no desire to ever try anal because I know I will not derive pleasure from it, and my friends respond with “so vanilla” or boring. I simply don’t want to do it because the pleasure is completely one-sided ; I’m a woman without a prostate, so what’s the point of anal for me? So my partner can humiliate me?
Choking, being tied up, slapping, biting, being rough, anal, restraints .... how is any of that empowering to women?
How do you have this conversations with the strong feminist ladies in your life?
