The ruins of Old Highway 72 are located outside of Vonore, TN. Like many casualties of the Tellico Dam, the road was rerouted and abandoned in 1979 following the creation of the Tellico Reservoir. Part of the highway remains today, slowly fading into the surrounding woods.
