Let's make a list of Tekken pros that didn't use Leroy in Evo Japan. I feel they deserve some appreciation and to be remembered for resisting the temptation of using a broken character.

This doesn't mean that those great pros who used Leroy are shameless players. All 6 Leroys who reached Top 8 are amazing players + others who lost before top 8. That's undeniable. They also gotta do that to earn money in this EVO which is pretty understandable but those who didn't use Leroy and stuck with their mains (or other characters they use a lot) certainly deserve praise imo.

EyeMusician

Arslan Ash

JimmyJTran

Knee

CBM

AK?

Nobi

Saint

Ulsan

Rangchu

The Julia player who made top 8 (I forgot his name)

Who else? I haven't been watching much for obvious reasons (the event is utterly boring to watch).

People call these players "stupid" for not using Leroy but honestly, I admire them more for resisting the temptation, choosing the hard path and take pride in their mains (or characters they use) :)

Back in 2011, in Japan. I went to the city of Nagoya to visit a japanese friend for a week at his family house. I went there with a girl friend.

My friend and me were sleeping in the guest room, in a bunk bed. She was sleeping at the top of the bed and I was sleeping at the bottom.

One night or rather very early in the morning, at dawn, I suddenly woke up for no reason. The room was not fully dark as the dawn was slowly coming. I’ve paid a look everywhere in the room until I saw this tall shadow in the corner of the room, just next to the window... A flotting tall shadow. Not moving, just flotting. Although it was a very dark shadow, I could see it was a very old man, with a long beard. He had a robe as a dress, with long sleeves and a hood on his head. He didn’t have feet. I didn’t notice his eyes but I knew he weren’t staring at me. He looked sad, or that’s what I felt. Then he suddenly started to flotting around my room and that’s when I started to panic, I wanted to scream and call my friend who were sleeping on the top of the bed but I couldn’t move at all. I couldn’t scream, I couldn’t call her, it’s like I had no voice anymore. I only could move my eyes and following the shadow’s moving. While he was flotting around the room, I’ve had strident ultrasounds resonate in my head... Very disturbing. Finally, the shadow headed to the living room, still « not noticing meΒ Β» watching him. When he left my room, the ultrasounds disappeared from my head and I could move and talk again ! I jumped out of my bed and I’ve attempted to wake up my friend in the hope that she saw the same thing than me, but she was sleeping like a baby.

I really don’t know what I saw that early morning. It wasn’t scary in terms that I didn’t feel any direct threatening towards me or something. I actually felt a lot of sadness and loneliness from the shadow. I was scared because of the surprise seeing that shadow and the fact that I couldn’t move and talk. Since then, I’ve never meet this shadow again.

Voila, this is my encounter with the strange !

Later, I’ve found out about sleep paralysis. I think this is what I’ve experienced that day.

A pal of mine from Japan is coming to visit in early January for a few days. She's spent a few months here in SoCal and visited San Fran and a few cities in Mexico but it'll be her first time in the Sotuh.

I'm moving back home to Baton Rouge and told her I'd introduce her to my family as well as show her around New Orleans. What would you recommend for a tourist beyond the atypical touristy things? I want her to get a good feel of life in Louisiana. Sure, she wants gumbo and I'll take her to see some jazz and visit the French Quarter but I want something more of a lasting memory for her.

When someone in England asks where you're from, at what point do you list the city/town and the county? I've been noticing quite a bit of "I'm Joe from ____ in _____" on University Challenge.

I'm sure there's a population threshold where somebody wouldn't feel the need to list the county anymore, like for the biggest 10 or 20 cities or so.

Also, is it common to respond with just a county when you're asked where you're from? At least in the US it's pretty common to just say your home state when asked that question.

Just curious!
