Ian McKellen was Magneto and Gandalf at the same time. What other actors have played multiple iconic characters in such close proximity?

Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Indiana Jones, and to a lesser degree Jack Ryan is the obvious one.

Heath Ledger as Ennis in Brokeback then as the Joker 3 years later is notable too.

I bet you could point to a few Andy Serkis performances, but let's not count voice/ motion capture performances since it has the advantage of disguising the actor so much. I think they'd dominate this thread.

Who is excited about The Division movie in development? I sure as hell am. Here is my wish list of actors who could play major roles.

I looked into the movie credits so far and it seems that the director was involved with John Wick and Deadpool 2.

I think is safe to say that the shoot outs are going to be epic.

Wish list of Actors for the movie in no particular order.

  • Joe Ferro is a must, could be played by Ron Perlman as the main villain
  • Larae Barrett should be in it too could be played by Uzo Aduba (Orange is the new black)
  • Paul Rhodes this one is tricky but I think with the attitude this one is easy. Christopher Meloni fits right in.
  • Roy Benitez this could easily fit Benicio Del Toro and with his Puerto Rico roots he can make it shine.
  • Faye Lau, this one I can't really come up with a good actress that would fit this role right, but going with a known actress is probably safe. Like Michelle Yeoh or Constance Wu both from the movie Crazy Rich Asians.
  • Vitaly Tchernenko as the Russian Dr., you can never go wrong with Peter Stormare.

I don't think the LMB should be the main villain in this film as I believe Joe Ferro brings enough background story to fill a movie plot including the DZ, and if it does well then LMB could be the next chapter. Which I believe you can put Brian Cranston (Braking Bad) right into the role of Colonel Bliss.

Anyway that is my day dream moment, hope you all have fun with this and put up some suggestions, as I believe that this movie can be well received not just for the players but for the general audience.

Hopefully there are no bugs in this one. LOL

If an actor played multiple roles in a movie, could they receive an award nomination for each role, or would they receive a single nomination for their overall acting in the movie?

I ask this based on the great reviews that Lupita Nyong’o is receiving for her roles in β€œUs,” which led me to wonder how a potential nomination could play out.

Let’s say someone plays two roles in the same movie and plays them both to award-worthy level. Would it be possible to be nominated for each role, or would they receive a single nomination for the movie for portraying the multiple characters they portrayed?

The only thing I can seem to find on an actor receiving two nominations for the same movie is from 1944 when Barry Fitzgerald received a supporting and lead actor nomination for the film β€œGoing My Way.” However, these nominations were for the same role and it appears that it was considered an error, and the ability to receive dual nominations for the same role was fixed.

People who also have played The Witcher 3 multiple times: did you come to some of these same conclusions?

So I've played through TW3 many times now, closer to 10 like full playthroughs I'd say, which I find to be a lot (maybe youve done like 25 and think I'm a scrub, i don't know) and i came to some conclusions. Ive done like probably every quest in the game at least once and chosen all outcomes for any choices you could make in the game.

First off: does anyone else really get burned out by the Novigrad Act? I dont like hate the writing or the characters or anything, and in fact I think Novigrad is one of the best cities in gaming and I hope more devs try to make their in-game mid-evil cities more like it, but rather I just find the pacing so dull and somewhat confusing to me. On top of its a lot of running back and forth, the part where you have "Get Junior" "Gangs of Novigrad" and "Count Reuven's Treasure" all going on just gives me a headache now. In my last play-through I just went straight to Skellige.

Speaking of: does anyone else feel like the choice of who to help become leader of the Isles was too obvious? I appreciated the heavy hitting moral questions posed by the Whispering Hillock quest, choosing what to do about Keira, and stuff in quests like the "Wild At Heart" side-quest, but the 'Kings Gambit" resolution seemed to be very one sided with very little reason to choose anyone but Cerys. Most people on this sub I've seen answer Cerys, anyone i asked IRL seemed to choose Cerys save two people. One chose Svanrige but simpy because he didnt realize he had a time-frame to do "The Lord of Undvik" and "Possession" and they failed once he progressed in the main story. The other choose Hjalmar but said he didn't really think about it and said after his second play-through he choose Cerys and doesnt think he'll choose anyone else again.

Other than that I have to say that even after all my play-throughs, I still never get tired of the Skellige Act and exploring the Isles. Same thing with Velen btw but to a bit lesser of an extent because I just love Skellige that much.

Lastly in terms of things that comes to mind is obvious and its all been said before so I wont divulge on it too much but hot damn I wish Dijkstra didn't do what he did at the end of the Kingslayer quest-line and I wish the choice was set out differently with more depth behind the options. But mostly just the Dijkstra part with his WAY out of character actions. I mean listen to his own words, unless of course Geralt is a better dancing girl than I th
