I imagine that the SD may become my new iPad of sorts since I’ll have it on me all the time. While it’s obviously optimized for gaming, I’m going to try to squeeze as much out of it that I can. Would love to see if others have a list of to-download useful apps.

The biggest things I’m curious about are if anyone knows about Linux SMS clients similar to the Mac OS messenger app (hoping to sync w iPhone), and if there are useful Linux apps for social media and streaming services, or if those things are better done through the browser. (I know the screen isn’t optimal for watching stuff but I don’t really mind.)

I'd love to see a modern web browser, or replacements for video streaming apps that left the platform, particularly.

Pros:

• Blind spot camera!!!
  • Amazing, something I have been asking for since I got the car
• Customized controls
  • I personally think that these are awesome and does not take up space for the seat heaters as there is obviously space on both sides. I think in the future they should add a few more slots and allow you to have buttons for manually adjusting seat heaters and defrosters
  • As someone who uses the energy & messages apps a lot, I am pretty sure this saves me taps
  • If you are so mad about the recently used app, you can just open an app in the menu and then it will be there until you open something else up
• Tik Tok
  • Gen-Z owner here, definitely going to use this when waiting in the car to pick someone up
• Navigation update
  • Adding stops and bypassing chargers while staying on the same trip just got easier

Cons:

• Losing the cards
  • I do not understand why they did this, I loved being able to quickly check my tire pressure and trip details
• Automatic seat heat heaters
  • Everyone is so quick to blame the customized controls for losing the seat heater buttons on the home screen, but I am guessing it is the auto seat heaters that did it as it would be logistically difficult to have the controls in a small button
  • I found the auto seat heaters to be nice some of the time, but not all the time and because it is now behind a menu, there is no way it saves me taps
  • I keep this on normally because it is nicer than adjusting it manually, but that is only the case because it is behind a menu
  • This is another example of problems with a California car company, no way this would fly in Michigan or Germany

What I would change:

• Give two more slots for customized apps and add the ability to add manual seat heater adjustments and defrosters.
  • I don’t understand what is preventing them from doing this, would be logistically weird with the auto seat heater, but they can figure it out, maybe have 3 seat heating modes and then a 4th that is auto mode
• Adding the cards back
  • Maybe it was the addition of the blind spot camera or the fact that some customers could not figure it out, but this was really nice to have

All in all, having the energy and messages apps right there definitely saves me taps, so that and the blind spot camera easily make me think this update makes the car safer, counter to the popular opinion on here. Can it be better? Yes, but every single software version has had room for improvement.

I have a multi-WAN network and I would like to block OS and software updates from coming through my faster WAN which has a low data cap and be forced to only use the slower WAN which has no data cap. Most devices in the household are MacOS and iOS so I'm primarily interested in blocking Apple update servers from the capped WAN, but also interested in Google and Amazon (Kindle Fire) addresses.

Is there a list out there of the common update servers for the big companies?

I want to find a software meant for personal use that has the same functionality as SharePoint lists.

I don’t need any of the other features available in SharePoint. However, I don’t know the terminology to use to look for a software like this. Googling “what type of software is SharePoint lists” just returns explanations for how to use it, which I already understand.

If anyone can explain what I would call a tool like this (is it just a database? A database with added features for ease of use?) I would be so, so appreciative.

Additional information:

I use SharePoint lists and libraries every day in my role at work. They have been IMMENSELY helpful, and I’ve been able to creat many time-saving tools.

However, I’m not trained in using SharePoint and have been learning on the fly to try to help my coworkers. So I’m out of the loop on some pretty basic stuff, hence this question.

I’m looking for something that allows me to create items to which I can associate tags, text, images, etc. in one list and reference those items in other list (for example, a list of clothing items and another list of outfits composed of those items).

My provider Telekom.de use VoIP/SIP for phone. It gives me some numbers. I found few applications that allows me to recieve calls and call back, and tested that it works. Pretty neat how thing are working.

To have SMS working the provider has an article: Wie melde ich mich für SMS im Festnetz der Telekom an? It is in Deutsch, but in general it requires to setup SMS-Gateway 1 and 2.

I could not find anything in the MacOS applications: Telephone, Linphone, Jitsi, where I can specify SMS gateways.

Can you help to understand what kind of software I need to use SMS and if there is anyting available for MacOS?

Nothing for 'lvfs' appears anywhere in the dialogs for the software app settings.
