Does anybody have a list of genera in the Magnoliid clade native to Europe?
What genera of music would you consider Band-Maid?
Hey fellow Maidiacs, I’m new to Band-Maid but not to the outstanding musical scene of Japan. Been an active listener of Far East artists since the Visual Kei band explosion (and implosion) of the 90’s and beyond
I’ve really gotten into, enjoyed and purchased nearly all of Band-Maids discography to date and have been wondering, what specific genera of music would you categorize Band-Maid as? I know we could easily say “heavy metal” or “j-rock” but those are broad. Would they fall into…
Alternative Idol?
Anisong?
Kawaii Metal?
Visual Kei?
So, I ask of you all, if you had to label B-M with a specific genera of music stylings what would it be listed as?
Edit: the generas listed above are not my personal considerations for their style of music, just references to other styles that are closely related. Thank you

For an alternate history textbook I've been working on, is there an extensive, comprehensive list of all the extant (meaning still alive) cartilaginous and bony fish genera who were present 66 to 56 million years ago?

So I was trying to look for Placoderms by locations and ended up on the list of Placoderms genera page on wikipedia, all of the locations are blank listed on this page but there is a location section to all of them, I'll comment the page just so you can see for yourself.

1960's Soul is better in EVERY way than any kind of the same genera today.
I have been on a soul kick this last few days. Just going on shuffle with Itunes. They are singing clearly about things that are heartbreaking and motivational at the same time. While this was a predominantly black music at the time, they have absolutely no shortage of pain to pull from. As this generation was touched directly by the pain of slavery. `These songs are DEEP they have more meaning than on the surface. They have gravity.
The Supremes, Jackie Wilson, Temptations, Lou Rawls. There are some great bands, MOST of them are amazing.
The singing in general is just so deep and full of richness but still every emphasized note has a rasp that tells its own story. The vocals are just better. Production, sound, lyrics, just all better.
I am sure this sub will be divided on this. Some will say " of course idiot ", some with descent with my opinion. I am curious to see what the numbers are.
If you do disagree, I challenge you to put your music app on shuffle for the 60s soul, and really listen.
The most heat-resistant insects are three genera of desert ants. The ants have developed a lifestyle of scavenging for short durations during the hottest hours of the day, in excess of 50 °C (122 °F), for the carcasses of insects and other forms of life which have succumbed to heat stress

Could someone please answer? When compared to other creatures, why do some produce a huge number of new species while others produce a relatively small number? Also in evolutionary time, why do distinct lines of organisms (species, genera, or families) have higher or lower extinction rates?

Does anyone know of a source for estimations of total plant biomass by taxon? I’m especially interested in which are the most biomassive species/genera of chlorophytes and charophytes (non-‘plant’ algae too would also be interesting for comparison, if possible).
Did any genera of mosasaurs and pilosaurs exist in the same environments & times? Do we know anything about the interactions between these animals?
I'm sorry if my question is malformed or nonsensical. What I'm really wondering is, if like, say, dolphins and sharks, these two sorts of animals lived around one another, in the same time period, and interacted with one another in competition for the same niches, through predation, anything. I'm not a biologist or really familiar with science so if I need to rephrase this or if it makes no sense, let me know.
I’m stumped. My husband brought this home yesterday. I think it might be a succulent, but darned if I know where to start looking. (Crassula, Senecio, Sedum are potential genera or one I’ve never heard of.

Would you rather listen to your least favorite genera of music for the rest of your life or talk shows for thw rest of your life.
If you start to like the genre you are listening to, the music will automatically change to your least favorite. If you like all music it will change to static. The talk shows are about boring things like neck ties, and tissue brands. Boring stuff like that

🔥 Army ant is a general term that refers to any of about 18 genera (plural of genus) of ant that exhibit extremely aggressive nomadic behaviors and indiscriminately kill by overwhelming prey with their massive numbers. I did a running leap over a 3 ft wide, 6” deep trail in Mexico, they scared me.

Does anybody have experience coppicing, more specifically using the stool of one species to grow another species within the same genera?
I am familiar with the process from forestry management to make a heck of a lot of quick firewood, but was wondering if the same practice could apply to an old overgrown plum tree we have. Couldn't we essentially graft a peach into the stool and trim away the plum shoots that come up? Is this even possible?
