Some impressive fights though I wish Coenen would gave finished it.
Thoughts? I can see this organization getting big.
edit: Fun fights through out the decision heavy card. But, the main event was dead awful.
I'm especially lazy as fuck today, and am deeply saddened that there are no gifs in the usual places. I will have a few. later. Just wanna quick run through of a pretty good card, that seemed to sour on a lot of people because of the horrendous main event. Barb Honchak and Hashi are lucky this was in Barb's hometown... Seriously. I thought this was worst than Schaub/Arlovski. Ok. Now to the good.

I thought Mizuki won, but the decision was more than justifiable. As a whole Mizuki for sure with a dominant 2nd round, but Kowalkiewicz really just put the output on Mizuki, and she spent too much time defending and avoid rather than countering. I'm a fan of Mizuki, but I thought despite her technical prowess in all aspects of the game, she doesn't have the strength advantage and was overrated due to her age. Kind of like a 1st round pick in whatever sport. And if you follow other team sports, you know that they don't always pan out or live up to the hype. I still think Mizuki is very good, but she needs to improve her ability to take it to the ground, and counter flurries (ala what Lawler did to Matt Brown) if she wants to get to the championship level. Lots of time still. lots of time.

That output is the same issue Mizuki had against Bec Rawlings (Hyatt) in round 3.

Now, two other prospects making their "big stage" did impress a lot. Andrea KGB Lee and Jamie Moyle put on great displays of striking. Both girls showed a level you don't see too much in MMA, as well as showing an adequate ground game. Made me look forward to their next fights and big props to Jenny Liou.

Liou was getting lit up pretty much the whole fight, but kept on fighting. Whether it was recovering half guard while getting struck, or going for submissions, and pulling guard just to give herself the best chance to win. Lots of work to do on her striking and wrestling, but fuck man, this type of urgency is what fighters should have. Something we haven't seen much of on TUF 20, other than from Randa Markos.

Kaitlin Young... if you can't transition from striking to grappling, and don't have that one punch knockout power, you're not gonna be competing at the highest levels. In my eyes, she's the same fighter that knocked the fuck out of Miesha Tate many years ago, if not worse.
