Hawker Hurricanes of the Imperial Iranian Air Force. The first Hurricane in Iran was Mk.I P3270, followed by 10 aircraft left by No.74 Squadron RAF when redeployed, and finally, 18 Mk.IICs delivered in 1946. Two aircraft of the latter order were converted into two-seat trainers (designated T.IIC).

Not all heroes wear uniforms. Wife's granddad worked for Hawker during WW2 in research & development, He worked on 'experimental aircraft' improving the Hurricane and helping to win the Battle of Britain. Found these old papers in their house after nanny passed away recently

The IAR 80 was a Romanian fighter and ground-attack aircraft. The IAR 80 was comparable to the Hawker Hurricane and Bf 109E. 448 IAR 80βs were built and saw active service in Russia, in the defense of the PloieΘti oil refineries and against Germany after Romania joined the Allies in August 1944.

Airfix Hawker Hurricane MKI. Varnish and weathering to go. Tried using flat brushes for first time and didnβt have the desired result. They kept fraying so it keeps hitting other parts of camo. Iβm next gonna try doing one colour as the base then the next on top to stop this to an extent.

Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk 1
3rd kit complete, still learning on the airbrush side and with the weathering. Despite the cheap price of the kit (useful whilst improving my skills), I think it went together okay.
Really liking the MIG paints and I'm probably developing an unhealth need to buy more. Think I have a better understanding of the benefits of vanishes now too. Still great fun!
