Visited Les Invalides recently and it's nuts how fond people's nostalgia for Napoleon is.
Why did the French love Napoleon, even when he began to embody what he revolution sought to destroy?
I know that traditionally European monarchies had strict rules governing the honors presented to visiting nobility based on their rank and lineage. However, during the 19th and early 20th centuries nations like the United States and the French Republic, who have no monarch, were economic and military great powers. Were the President of one of these nations (or other high official such as a foreign minister/secretary of state) to visit a European Monarchy would they be received in the same manner as a King? Or was their station viewed as inferior?
Just generally being curious about crowns as physical and symbolical objects here!
Could Napoleon prevent the Bourbon Restoration? What would Napoleon having regained control of France do? Would be able to consolidate his control over France or would he adopt an isolationist policy? Would the European powers attempt to dethrone him once more?
Edit: I'm fully aware that Saint Helena is remote.

Ok so I tried playing France for the first time in the new patch and decided to go monarchist, now I had done this in RT56 before and found it quiet enjoyable with many choices in my focused on how to make France more warlike. However when I played them in la resistance I was disappointed massively the main problem being there’s 2-3 focuses for each monarchy path.... and there in a weird order like with the Napoleon one WHY for any reason would I go after Britain before Germany when Germany is an easier target a bigger threat and borders me. The small amount of focuses means that I don’t feel like having a Napoleon in instead of one of the other monarchs even makes a difference it just feels bland
It's a beautiful song composed by the Horrible Histories cast to pay homage to English Monarchs, this song should be this subreddits anthem and everyone should know at least the chorus off by heart.
