A list of puns related to "List of DePauw University alumni"
Hi guys, I'm an international student that got accepted to Depauw University with a very generous scholarship package. I also got accepted to other liberal arts colleges that are higher ranked than Depauw but with less aid and scholarships. My parents insisted that I should choose the best-ranked school and that they could afford it. But I want to save up money to ultimately attend a well-ranked graduate school and become a psychologist. What do you think I should do? Do you guys think Depauw is the best option here? Is Depauw a good college for psychology?
Sure, Seton Hill is a D2 school while DePauw is D3, and sure, non-D1 programs generally don't travel 430 miles (the distance between the schools) for a game, but ... it would be really funny!
(Yes I am v bored without actual college basketball, why do you ask?)
Edit: I go into a bit more detail here.
Is DePauw generous with scholarships and financial aid for Intl Students?
I found my grandfather's 1917 University of Pennsylvania two commencement programs (one with details of the graduation exercises, and a small one with just the names of the students). I also have the alumni booklet from the 50 year reunion in 1967.Β I've scanned them and put them into a PDF so I can share them here in case you might have some ancestors who went there.Β The programs show what degree the students received if you are curious about that.Β One interesting thing I saw in the (larger) commencement program was that they awarded the author, Zane Grey, an honorary Master of Letters degree thatΒ year. (He graduated from there in 1896 having attended on a baseball scholarship.)Β The reunion booklet will be of special interest to genealogists.Β For the alumni who filled out the questionnaire ahead of time, the booklet tells a little about the individual such as spouse's name, number of kids/grandkids, hobbies, military service, employment history, etc. I also have his yearbook. So very cool!

Calling all college freshmen thru college seniors! What overrated aspect about your school should we be aware of?

Got the email this morning:
" Dear Friends,
I wanted to let you know as far in advance as possible that Missouri S&T, in keeping with a policy change implemented by the University of Missouri System, will be discontinuing the alumni benefit of email for life. The reason for this change is plain and simple: mitigating IT security risks.
The attached message provides additional background on the policy change and action you need to take if you wish to continue accessing email through mst.edu for the one-year extension. While I am relieved that we can offer this extension period, I realize that this will be inconvenient for alumni who access email through mst.edu.
I assure you that the UM System did not reach this decision lightly, but security challenges have made it necessary to change the policy. Please know that Missouri S&T is the last university in the UM System to implement this new policy.Β If the removal of your email account will cause undue burden, please donβt hesitate to reach out to me at ramsayd@mst.edu or (573) 341-4584. "
This is my third year as an interviewer. There is no mechanism for students to leave feedback about their experience to the school or the interviewer. I think thatβs a problem. Talk to me about some of your interview pet peeves and what you wish your alumni interviewers would do.
Iβll answer any questions you have along the way.
