Hi guys, I'm an international student that got accepted to Depauw University with a very generous scholarship package. I also got accepted to other liberal arts colleges that are higher ranked than Depauw but with less aid and scholarships. My parents insisted that I should choose the best-ranked school and that they could afford it. But I want to save up money to ultimately attend a well-ranked graduate school and become a psychologist. What do you think I should do? Do you guys think Depauw is the best option here? Is Depauw a good college for psychology?
Sure, Seton Hill is a D2 school while DePauw is D3, and sure, non-D1 programs generally don't travel 430 miles (the distance between the schools) for a game, but ... it would be really funny!
(Yes I am v bored without actual college basketball, why do you ask?)

I got into DePauw in the Early Action rounds and boiiii I think I might commit. I have been receiving very personal emails from them. Not like the generic "Happy holidays" shit but emails that really shows that they care.
And I just received a call from my admissions counselor just checking up on me and asking how my family has been doing after I got in and as an international student this personal gesture really means a lot. I mean I am blown away.
DePauw I am so ready to commit!!!

Right in the wake of Indiana University’s Chapter of Chi Omega, Kappa Alpha Theta may go in the same way. It’s been confirmed that they were not allowed to participate in recruitment. I hope that they aren’t kicked off of campus as they’re an Alpha chapter and they seem like great girls. This is just so sad to me.

Can someone give me some advice between Wabash College and DePauw University? I am have just been admitted to these 2 great schools and these are the greatest offer I had so far
Additional information: I want to study Computer Science as my first major and Mathematics as my second major. I also want to do lots of research in computer science, especially in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
Please help me pick the schools. Thanks in advance
I know this is not talked about a lot on this page, since most of the talk is about top 20 schools, but I want some suggestion on whether or not I should study at American or DePauw.
Both are absolutely fantastic schools. However, I most likely will major in international relations, so in that respect, American is one of the best.
Pros of American:
- The city. It is so nice to be on a traditional campus, but so close to a major city. Especially if that city is DC because there is so much to do all the time. Conferences, internships, protest, museums, etc.
- School of International service is a top 10 school in the country for IR
- Size of student body is slightly larger, which is nice.
- 18k scholarship
- I like the students in the group chat a lot more.
- Warmer weather.
- Extremely passionate about politics--good environment.
DePauw pros:
- Smaller student to teacher ratio. This means more focus
- Got into honors scholars program. Also recommended to apply to some technology program as well.
- 30k scholarship
- Parties are probably better?
- Focus on undergrad only. There is one grad school, and that's for music.
- Seems like more ECs because DePauw is in the middle of nowhere so there has to be more to do.
- Bigger campus
I really cannot choose. DC is such a huge pull for me because I love it. I just feel there are wildly different opportunities offered at each school, so I just do not know. DePauw has some amazing programs, but I might make more connections out in DC and have a better time. Does anyone have any insight into either of these institutions? I feel like American is the better school, especially for IR--but I am really not sure if I even want to do IR. I love the concept, but my other passion is for the arts--especially acting--but I cannot imagine American has much of a focus on that.
I also got waitlisted at UChicago--believe me, I know that everyone does--which gives me a small sliver of hope that I could be admitted, but I highly doubt it. I love the school so much and would gladly go there if I had the chance. It's also a lot closer to my home, which is nice.
