Like Vincent D'onofrio, David Tennant probably won't be nominated for an Emmy, despite their amazing performances.
I'm still bitter that Dinklage won over Johnathon Banks and Ben Mendehlson, whilst D'onofrio wasn't even nominated.
Dinklage wasn't bad, but of all the seasons for him to win an emmy for, I thought this one just gone was the least deserved.
Tennant was great and it's a shame he won't get recognition for his performance because of this being a comic book series.

TIL of AndrΓ© Tchaikowsky, a Polish pianist who donated his skull to the Royal Shakespeare Company after his death, as he wanted it to be used for Yorick in productions of Hamlet. It took 26 years for his wishes to be realized as no one wanted to use it. In 2008, David Tennant finally used it.

We really need David Tennant in S3 as either Martin's old best friend or Malcom's Uncle.
David Tennant and Martin Sheen are basically BFF's irl at the moment and their banter and bromance is hilarious. Having seen Tennant in JJ & Bad Samartitan in recent months I think it'd be a great idea to have appear as either a former close friend of Martin (who could be implied to be a killer) or better yet Martin's younger brother and Malcom's uncle who still shares a bond with Martin despite the incarnceration.

Origin of Crowley's walk - from David Tennant at Dragoncon
For those of us who were wondering about the walk - someone posted this on Twitter: "#DavidTennant says that Crowleyβs #goodomens walk comes exclusively from him having βsnake hips and very tight pantsβ"

So, apparently, it wasn't a direction or even how Gaiman meant it, it is all thanks to the actor! :D

I love the t-shirt/leather coat combo here on David Tennant in Fright Night (2011). This is a great use of costuming to show character change - merging elements from his stage persona with his own style as he builds up the courage to go and fight a vampire.

Nuggets of interesting info from David Tennant's interview with Jodie Whittaker
David Tennant has a podcast in which he chats with famous people. This week's guest was Jodie Whittaker and they discuss Dr Who quite a lot. It is fun and you should listen to it (the accents alone are worth it). But there are a few scraps of interesting info that I thought were worth noting as they made me hopeful for s12.
- Jodie believes it's important for girls to have positive role models on TV, but she believes the characters should have flaws and states "the Doctor has flaws".
- She didn't grow up watching Dr Who, due to the wilderness years, but as a kid she always loved the kind of sci-fi that asks moral and ethical questions.
- Contrary to popular belief, she does know the history of the show, but mostly from reading. She had seen several episodes before she was cast, but she gave up on her attempt at watching previous Doctors when she was preparing for the role - she found it too constrictive and it induced panic instead of being helpful. So Chibnall instead wrote her a giant PhD-thesis-length biography of the Doctor, explaining all the continuity (and lack thereof), and she read the whole thing. Tennant thinks this is hilarious and says 'I bet Chris loved doing that'.
- The thing she values most in a role is the opportunity to keep doing new and different things; her only fear is that by the time she finishes playing the Doctor, she'll have done everything an actor can do, and will have nothing else left.
- She believes that Time Lords have more emotional range than humans because they have two hearts.
My takeaway from the above is that IF the writers wanted to take series 12 to a darker place, with a more morally-conflicted Doctor and a greater emotional range, Jodie would give it 150% - she comes across as someone who is extremely dedicated to her craft.
