A list of puns related to "List of Axe products"
A shower thought of mine haha
Update: The deals that I posted here kept getting removed by AutoMod, so I decided to create a new sub-Reddit to house them. Check it out at: /r/blackfridaytoday.
What invoked me to think about this question is this Buddy Holly song. I'm sure there are other 1950s and 1960s - if not older, in the case of Mississippi John Hurt - records that sound like they could succeed in any other decade, but this song here (along with a couple of other Holly tracks and some versions of Mr. Sandman) sounds fresh to me. It could be an unplugged track from a 1990s/2000s pop-punk band, a 1970s/1980s rockabilly revival or neo-traditional country song, or (what it is) a late-1950s acoustic Little Richard cover. Everyday, also by Holly, Mr. Sandman by the Chordettes, many Mississippi John Hurt blues records, and the guitar cover of Mr. Sandman by Chet Atkins are other honorable mentions.
So, what goes into "timeless" popular songs to make them timeless, imo? Analyzing the linked Holly track:
-Lightweight production. Be it orchestral strings, synths, the Wall of Sound, or 1950s rock saxophones, instrumentation can often be dated to a specific time period. This song is minimally produced, with just an acoustic guitar playing relatively standard country/folk melodies, and so could fit in any number of minimalistic/austere popular styles from indie-folk to alt-country.
-Acoustic guitar. Yes, there are trends in instrumentation, but as a relatively inexpensive instrument that doesn't require electric amplification the acoustic guitar is a perennially popular instrument. Many decades after the steel-string "country" guitar first became popular, the instrument continues to appear (either played live or sampled) in popular songs across a huge variety of genres and countries.
-Simple vocals. Holly sings the lines fairly directly. No yodeling, no AutoTune, no backup chorus...just a voice singing naturally. There will always be a market for that.
-High fidelity audio. There will also always be a market for lo-fi sounds, but most pop-oriented/hit singles will be aimed for high fidelity. This is a very crisp recording.

I'm sure most of you have read or heard about the famous axe murders in Villisca, Iowa in 1912. What many of you probably don't know, is that these brutal murders fit almost perfectly in a cycle of other similar axe murders committed in the same general area at the same general time. In several of the mass murders, the MO used by the killer was nearly identical. The perpetrator of these crimes has never been definitively caught. Many speculate that a serial axe murderer was traveling by train and slaughtering families with an axe while they slept in their homes.
There is little information on these axe murders compiled all in one place, so I decided to dig in and do some research. I've outlined the details of every case I could track down that has a possibility of being related. There are 6 main attacks that I will cover that are thought to be related, totaling 26 murders. I also included information on a few other similar cases. I'll let you go over the information and come to your own conclusion, although I will say that I find it likely that one person committed at least 2 of the mass axe murders, which, if true, would mean that a prolific axe murderer did travel America in the early 1910s. I encourage you to read over the following information, as it did take a lot of work to compile, and it is immensely interesting.
Between January 1911 and April 1912, 49 people in Louisiana and Texas were killed with axes. While it seems that most of the murders were race-related, as all of the victims were black or mixed, the possibility exists that some of these murders were the work of the same prolific axe murderer assumed to have committed other murders discussed later on. I'll discuss some of the cases, as they bear striking similarities to other cases I will discuss.
On March 22, 1911, Louis Cassaway, his wife, and 3 children were killed in their homes while they slept with the blunt side of an axe. The victims all had their heads completely smashed. The killer placed a cloth over Louis' head.
On November 29, 1911, Norbert Randall, his wife, and four children, were killed in their homes with the blunt side of an axe.
February 19, 1912- a mother and her 3 children were killed in their sleep in Beaumont, Texas.
March 27, 1912- a mother, her four children, and a male guest were killed in their sleep in Glidden, Texas.
April 12, 1912- a family of five was killed in their sleep in San Antonio, Texas.
April 15, 1912- 3 people were killed in He
