What is the difference between ClamAV and Linux Malware Detect(maldet)?

What is the difference between these two? Can i use both side by side? I currently have ClamAV installed with nightly scans and for email scanning and that is working great. Can i install Maldet and also setup a cronjob for nightly scans?

How to detect and remove crypto mining malware

My pihole logs show that my laptop is trying to connect to the following domains

  • randomxmonero.eu-west.nicehash.com
  • xmr-eu2.nanopool.org

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Run full system scans using BitDefender and MalwareBytes. Nothing found.
  • Booted in safe mode and ran a MalwareBytes scan.
  • Shut down all browsers and check network logs. Can still see network requests. So it’s definitely not a browser extension

I am not sure what’s going on here. How is this virus/malware evading scans? Please help

Windows used to be such a great operating system. I will always hold XP dearly in my heart. But since then, it has become bloated with spyware, malware, and DRM-ed crap like Cortana, One Drive, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Store. Is Linux better than this?

Is it worth going over to Linux if I hate DRM, spyware, Malware, and the FUCKING ONE DRIVE slowing down my PC?

How to detect malware in your wordpress website?

It is easy to detect malicious activities if you monitor your site regularly. However, if you do not, certain indicators will help you pinpoint the presence of malware on your site:

High resource usage of your server

Addition of a plugin without user input

Changes to any of your files in the server

Unauthorized login activity

Third-party scripts on the front-end

Data loss

Trying to detect and narrow down torrent activity on my home network (possible malware)

About 3 months back I got a copyright notice for torrenting on my network. I don't torrent (what's the point) especially for movies and television with all the subscriptions I have. And get this the notification was for torrenting...

...Desperate Housewives.

For the record 1) I'm a guy 2) I'm not married or currently have a partner 3) No one has visited my house in the past 6 months since I'm the one usually going out 4) the activity happened in the middle of the day while I was at work 5) I have no torrents or torrent software installed on my laptop and PC because again who torrents this day and age let alone TV and movies?

The IP address matched my devices so no dice. I was annoyed but I thought maybe someone accessed by network or I got malware etc. So I clean wiped my devices, reset my network passwords, checked my phone for hotspots and did a full clear.

Today I got another Copyright Notice for an infringement that happened last week. At 3 am. For....The Good Witch.

I swear to fucking god I'm being trolled.

Before I install Wireshark and start monitoring my network like a hawk is there any way to detect the history of my network?
