A list of puns related to "Lino Brocka"
I apologize if this sounds weird but I recently watched 2 Lino Brocka movies Insiang & Manila in the Claws of Light and absolutely loved them. Only thing is its so hard to find any other films of Lino Brocka to watch online and I can't even find any of Ishmael Bernal if you guys know where I can watch them I will be very appreciative and will give you all big hugs :)))
And if you guys have any suggestions for Filipino films please let me know :))

Just finished up title from Martin Scorseseβs World Cinema Project, Insiang (1976). I thoroughly enjoyed it, but i am curious to as why Insiang wanted revenge against Bebot? I assumed Bebot had just left her at the hotel for his own well being and i was under the impression they did not have sex the night before. I can be wrong and they did have sex and he left her, it makes sense but i took it that they didnβt.

AW and Brocka would be WCP releases; Nguyen made the new David Lynch doc; not sure about Dick Clement.
Prompted by the post on Brocka's Bayan Ko 4K BluRay (which had to be imported from France) and the comments on this post calling for greater accessibility to classic Filipino films, I'm reminded of how (anecdotally) small the market adoption of BluRay seems to be locally. Throughout the 2010s I found it hard to find any physical BlyRay in stores, while being swamped with DVDs even when video stores were a thing.
I also find it interesting that hardly any Filipino films get a BluRay release here, at most only DVD if it does get released to home media. It's only recently, through streaming services, where we could get HD versions of many Filipino films at home. If only our media companies would release more of their back catalogue as many 90s and 2000s films are lost otherwise.
I remember asking ABS-CBN Film Restoration about this a while back, and the main reason they gave was to prevent piracy, where any widely distributed BluRay would eventually be ripped and uploaded online. I believe this reasoning also holds true for ABS/Star Cinema's more current releases. There are also only so many films with international significance that would merit something like a Criterion release (Brocka's Maynila comes to mind), which are equally as unavailable locally.
What are all your thoughts on these? Is physical media on the way out to give way to streaming? I'd argue physical still has a market with any film enthusiast as it undoubtedly provides the best picture quality possible, but is hardly convenient for everyone compared to loading up a streaming service.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
