A list of puns related to "Linda Perry production discography"
He was one of the first producers of Bob Marley, worked with Beastie Boys, The Orb, Linda McCartney, The Congos, The Clash, Junior Murvin, Adrian Sherwood, Ari Up and many others
His techniques include heavy use of delay and reverb as well as tape overdubs and extracting the vocals to create a new instrumental version for the dancefloor

Just so we're clear as a prelude: I am not sh*tting on any of these albums. I adore them all. Trilogy is still one of the greatest albums of the 2010s in terms of influence and Abel is a wizard for making a 2 hours 40 minutes triple album with 0 skips. Think of this as an explorative guide into why going through the discography in order with a focus on production and mixing details might be a cool exercise. You will appreciate Abel's growth as an artist much more, and this might contextualize what to expect from The Dawn.
Recommend listening along on higher-end headphones if you have them just so you can pick up on all the layers of instrumentation and little mixing details. I personally listen on a pair of Sony XM4s with a custom EQ (400 @ +6, 1k @ +7, 2.5k @ +6, 6.3k @ +5, 16k @ +6, clear bass +10) for a louder sound. ***EDIT: forgot to mention I also have LDAC turned on to get as close to lossless as possible. There are youtube videos on how to switch your XM4s to LDAC if you need help.
There is a progressing complexity in Abel's sound that I think flies under the radar of a lot of people. Abel's vocal style, the layers in the production from his producers, the actual bar-for-bar arrangement of the songs themselves, or most notably the mixing. There are enormous jumps in sonic quality from every album to the next, even when it may not seem like it (I know some people aren't too fond of Starboy). With a higher budget and higher expectations comes more refinement. I thoroughly believe every successive album has been an upgrade in terms of raw production quality over the last even though certain themes and styles in his albums may change the order of individual peoples' best to worst lists.
Trilogy is filled with experimentation and two-part song structures. It's noticeably very dark and confined, even in an auditory sense - if you listen closely to the vocals, you can hear that the studio Trilogy was recorded in is much smaller and the mic is sh*ttier than on future albums. It has kind of an amateurish quality to it which makes sense because the mixtapes were the first proper releases from Abel so the refinement and confidence of later albums was replaced with lots of experimentation as Abel tried to find his sound. I think this is why so many people love Trilogy, it's unlike any other album you'll hear even now just because it was very willing to go out-of-the-box in a way that later Abel albums aren't. My favorite examples of this creativity are th

Lawrence, Phineas, Ferb, and Candice find out Perry's secret identity and had their memories erased but Linda never did.
i had a deep dive into their discography after a while and i was just taken back by how well produced all their songs are. obviously iβve always known this but hearing all these hits back to back i was like who is touching them when it comes to a well produced discography?! anyway i wondered what songs really stand out to everyone production wise? hereβs a few of mine:
sunrise - the chorus is just one of the best things iβve ever heard i really just have to pause every time it comes on. the guitar is just phenomenal. and when itβs just the claps/beats & their vocals at the end of the song itβs just so beautiful especially when you take into account the lyrics that are said there.
horizon - the production is out of this world, one of their most sonically interesting songs ever imo.
aurora - the way the pre-chorus builds into the chorus is just everything and then how its brought back down in the verses.... just beautiful
desire - they should do more house songs because whaaaat! the beat during the chorus... so dangerous, so good... it literally embodies what the song is about so perfectly
take me home - iβm sure you saw it coming but the production for this song is A+ from start to finish
celebrate - the incorporation of gospel along w/ the up beat hip hop sound... a match made in heaven... literally
honestly thereβs so many i could name but this post would go on forever so iβll stop myself π
I'm signing up for some advanced Cider Institute of North America classes, and I'd love to buy the Foundation book, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone have a copy they'd be willing to sell or send to me? I'm not even sure if it's a pdf or hard copy.
Side note: IDK if these classes are popular with this subreddit, but I'm happy to share my experiences when I'm through with them.
I Was browsing Linda Perryβs Instagram feed and found a post from January where she teases about βsomething that is comingβ. Sheβs wearing a Guns Nβ Roses t-shirt...π€π€ Do you think it means anything? Has someone heard anything related? Linda has already played with some GnβR members, thereβs an incredible video on YouTube of Linda singing Led Zeppelinβs Whole Lotta Love, with Slash playing guitar (and maybe someone else, not sure). Anyway, hereβs the Instagram post Linda Perry with GnβR t-shirt

Hello woke people, chinese water torturers, Hillary Clinton voters and Taylor Swift's swore enemies
In the newest installment of this continuous series, we're gonna be ranking the work of Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (also known as Katy Perry), the ex-Christian icon, American Idol judge, Russell Brand's ex wife, 2017's punching bag and one of the most successful performers of the century with a mostly immaculate pop discography and os many iconic hits
If you wanna participate you just have to rate from 0-10 the Katy Perry tracks included in THIS GOOGLE FORM that I created for the specific purpose of this ranking.
This list includes all of her songs officially released from her studio albums (including bonus tracks) and some other loose releases here and there, including collaborations, covers and remixes:
Not included on this ranking are standard remixes like the Rock Mix of I Kissed a Girl.
The ranking will be open to vote until midnight EST from March 6th (i'm gonna be mentioning the post in relevant comments so don't worry), or ten days from the publication of this post so you'll have enough time. Doing the ranking requires you to sign up with your Google account (don't worry, both your email and your username will be safe)... AND it algo gives you the chance to change your scores anytime you want, just in case.
Let's see which deep cut is the worst.
If you haven't heard some of the songs, i'll ask you to check them out in YouTube or Spotify/Apple Music in order to give them a fair score... also please DON'T GIVE EVERYTHING A 9 OR 10 OTHERWISE WHAT'S THE POINT OF ALL OF THIS!?!?
Thank you for participating.
