A list of puns related to "Liechtenstein–Switzerland relations"
After arranging Liechtenstein to be freed from the yoke of German imperialism based on loose cultural affiliation. The Swiss Government hereby will be move to take the people of Liechtenstein under its protection for the defense and interests of the people of Liechtenstein and not just for territorial ambition justified as cultural unity. As of this year the government of Liechtenstein will once again be able to use Swiss government infrastructure for its own diplomatic missions, economic ventures, and can count on Swiss military protection in times of need.
Terms of Diplomatic Normalization of Relations between Liechtenstein and Switzerland
A. Switzerland will represent Liechtenstein in all diplomatic affairs and Liechtenstein will as a result take up the same interests as Switzerland. In addition, all citizens of Liechtenstein will be considered Swiss citizens under all international treaties once more. Liechtenstein will also not have to rely on its limited budget to project itself across the world, it may work freely through Swiss channels as it did before turned into a German vassal.
B. The Swiss Air Force, Army, and Lakes Flotilla will pledge to uphold and support Liechtenstein's sovereignty and military defense against all invaders. However, contrary to the nature of German involvement in Liechtenstein the Swiss Armed Forces will not maintain a presence in Liechtenstein till need arises. Lastly any infringement of Liechtenstein's borders will be directed to Swiss military command and will draw forth a Swiss response to the action.
C. Liechtenstein and Switzerland will once again open to free trade. Liechtenstein will also maintain priority for Swiss businesses with Liechtenstein's borders second to that of native Liechtenstein businesses.
D. The Swiss Government will treat all citizens of Liechtenstein as Swiss citizens and vice versa for Swiss citizens in Liechtenstein.
FINAL DISCLAIMER: THE SWISS GOVERNMENT WILL NOT BE TAKING CONTROL OF LIECHTENSTEIN, ONLY RETURNING IT TO ITS FORMER STATUS AS A SWISS PROTECTORATE.
This is incredibly stupid, but would it be better for Liechtenstein to be a part of Switzerland as an autonomous canton?
Liechtenstein has a strong banking and finance industry like Switzerland. It has a similar population to the Canton of Uri. It uses the same currency and shares a language.
Liechtenstein does have a monarchy and a state religion, but some Swiss cantons also have Catholicism as an official language. Also why can’t the new Canton of Liechtenstein just be a weird canton with a prince?
Switzerland already provides for its foreign policy, defense, and law enforcement (to a certain degree). Wouldn’t it be easier if Liechtenstein and her prince just join up with the Swiss?
Thanks
Hey, I know this sub is pretty much US/UK/Canada only but maybe some of you have some experience in the Swiss market.
I started in Germany in consulting (3 years total 2 companies) and I passed 8 exams of the Germany actuarial association, so two more to go...
I started working in Liechtenstein start of 2020. I was hired to do life stuff, but know I somehow do life and p&c (a bit). I get paid 90k Chf, that honestly feels like a bit on the low side. Anybody of you know if I am right and should be paid more? Salary increases with my current employer won't happen. On jobs.ch are not a lot of potential positions so I don't want to burn the few by having to high expectations. I just got a BSc in Math/actuarial science if it's relevant.
Thanks in advance
Edit: Do you guys see any chances of me moving to Bermuda?
